2013 Bball Team Reunion/Honor--who attended?

Submitted by Fishbulb on February 21st, 2023 at 12:33 PM

The 2013 Final Four/national runner-up (it was a clean block) team was honored at halftime of the MSU game.  I know Beilein, Burke, Stauskas, and THJ were there based on some write-ups.  Does anyone know who else from the team attended?

Here's a player update based on my knowledge:  Burke just re-emerged in the G League.  THJ is still with the Mavs.  Stauskas dominated the G League last year, hooked up with the Celtics, got traded to the Pacers over the summer and then was cut, then he signed with the Timberwolves' G League affiliate, but it looks like he isn't playing.  GR3 went to grad school, and McGary is bowling.

LeVert is a 30 a minute guy on a rising Cleveland team.

Jordan Morgan is averaging 20 and 8 in Turkey

Jon Horford ran for State Rep this past cycle. He lost the Democratic Primary to the eventual winner in the general by only 25 votes.

Spike looks like he has moved on to going pro in something "other than sports." After GA-ing it at Purdue last year, it looks like he is working in sales now.

Quick update from the northern Ohio front lines on LaVert.  He was brought in around the trade deadline last year from the Nets to fill the 2/3 position and he's been ok but not great.

Began the season as the starting small forward but was getting killed on the defensive end so they moved him to backing up Okoro at the three, Mitchell at the two and spotting Garland at the one.  Unfortunately LaVert is wildly erratic offensively (one game he'll go off for 40 and then the next gave give you 5) and he's been prone to one mind-numbingly, game-costingly boneheaded mistake in the clutch this year.  A couple of weeks ago the Cavs were up 9 late against OKC when he fouled a shooter on a three point make, then fumbled the rebound on the missed FT OOB.  OKC then hit another three and LaVert fouled the shooter again making it a 7 point possession.  LaVert then missed a three on offense, OKC got the rebound and made a three and the nine point lead was gone.  Cavs lost by two.

At the trade deadline much of Cavs Twitter wanted him traded but the team still really likes him and he didnt get moved.  He was so happy when told he was staying it was pretty cool to see.   The team would like to bring him back next year if they can afford him.

It was great. Apart from 2021/2022 MIchigan football, they have to be my favorite M team of my lifetime. Burke gave a really nice speech, which was especially impressive given his rocky history with the university. They still seem super close. t was bittersweet to see John Beilein back at Crisler -- just an A+ human and wonderful ambassador for the university..

Argh!  I tried and failed to post a picture of the team out on the floor from my phone.  I'll try again if someone has any advice.

Copied the photo from my phone and tried to paste it in this box.

UPDATE:  I did it!  Guess it's time to call it quits for the day;  I'm sure it's 5PM somewhere!

Two people I was bummed weren't there: GR3 and Matt Vogrich. They were two of my faves on that team and really don't see them involved in much Michigan stuff since graduation (unless I've missed it).

Lots of awesome names to see. Surprised how some of their career's turned out - especially Hardaway sticking in the NBA for 10(!) years as a solid rotation player and McGary only playing ~50 NBA games total after coming on so strong that March/April in 2012.

I will say that while still impressed by Spike's performance in the championship, I really wish I never followed him on Twitter. Yikes.

Eh just lots of far-right political and conspiracy things - such as borderline Q/pedophilia stuff, lots of Tucker Carlson/Ingraham, and OANN/Newsmax nonsense. Back a bit, there was lots of "Lets Go Brandon" and #FJB stuff he was liking as well. He doesn't do it nearly as much during basketball season at least, but still.
