Zach Charbonnet Injury Rumor

Submitted by Trader Jack on September 18th, 2019 at 4:02 PM

Hate to be the bearer of (possible) bad news, but there is major smoke on the 247 Victors Board about a possible multi-week injury to Zach Charbonnet. Someone fire off the UMBig11 bat signal.

Michigan still has 5 running backs other than ZC. Plus Barrett has worked with the offense and can play running back. Plus Dax Hill can play running back in a pinch. One thing this team has shown with Harbaugh is they will never be “forced to throw.” They’ll run the ball if they feel like, even if they lose 5 more running backs.

We don't know if Tru will be back for Saturday and Turner is coming off of concussion protocol.  BVS is not a RB and we have no idea if Haskins is either as both were moved to D last year.  Do you think they would have been moved back to O if we would have had more than two scholarship RBs for spring ball? This is making moving Mason to the DL where he is undersized and inexperienced look like a bad idea.

Rumor propagated by an osu dickhead on Twitter. Calm down until you hear something from someone who actually knows.

I mean, it's bullshit that adults need to speculate on the health of unpaid college athletes and then for said unpaid college athletes to have their medical status broadcasted publicly again because someone may or may not have made something up.  We all just sort of accept that as part of college football, but it's crazy that multiple people will likely have to comment on a teenager's health.

Original source of rumor was banned from both Bucknuts & 11Warriors for being a Yoder like troll.

Also, Rivals site looked into it and saying “very very unlikely”.

Based on those, I’d step back from the ledge until we get a definitive report from Sam Webb from 247 or MGoBlog.

Man, I'm telling you, it better not be that spot that was scoped earlier this year. If it is, Jim Harbaugh will be under real criticism for playing him so much. 33 carries is too much. Jim Harbaugh will be in real hot water if is in the same spot that was scoped. There will be serious, valid criticism that he didn't protect a young player.

I don't see the point of this except that maybe Dillon just beats up on some of the worst defenses in college football and is otherwise barely above replacement level.  Which isn't true, but this screenshot isn't really moving the needle for me.

And it's not like Michigan processed Dillon. We wanted him in the class and was going to give him a shot at RB. Dillon wanted to be the only RB and guaranteed, and that is why despite his success, BC is still terrible. Addazio may even get fired this year.

We needed to take multiple RBs that year. It's the Kurt Taylor scholarship and recruitment that was more problematic.
