Would you go to the opening game?

Let’s say for a moment that everything came together and there absolutely zero restrictions, and the infection rate in Michigan is about half of what it is now, so around 200-300 cases a day. Sitting in would not be limited, it would be the same as it always was. So no social distancing.

Would you go to the opener?

No.

I'm probably older than most people here, but not so old that my risk profile is frightening. Still, get 100K+ people in that space (even with good outdoor air circulation) and there will be a few casualties. I'll pass. It was possibly a soccer game in northern Italy that helped get the fun started there.

All y'all that want to attend? Good on you. I can certainly understand your thinking and it would be awesome to see the indirect support for UM sports (football and all the ones that would benefit). Your odds of getting a frightening load of virus are pretty low and if you're young it's very likely that you'd get by with minimal suffering.

No chance in hell. And I’m a big Mich fan. Had COVID-19 and spent a miserable week in the hospital. Was completely drained and put on oxygen. Some may take this lightly but this shit is the real deal. Until they figure this out, Stay home - Stay safe.

Man, I live with in walking distance of Husky Stadium and was obviously very much looking forward to this.

If conditions were right, sure. But I doubt it will happen. I hope they reschedule. Looking at future schedules, 2023 looks wide open right now. Or even 2022 if you could do it before CSU--no heavy hitters or away games on that slate.

no, I am 88 years old living in Fl for the last 27 years. I have not missed coming to a game once during these years but I must take a pass on this year I am praying that there will be an effective vaccine for 2121 so that I can resume my annual visit. If I am still   amongst the living

First of all, I admire your long-term fandom.  And while I  would love to attend a Michigan game with you in 2121, let's first shoot for 2021, especially for the vaccine but also of course for Michigan Football.  ?

My hopes and prayers are that we'll both be among the living and able to again attend Michigan games sooner rather than later.   Be safe!

I wouldn’t go to any game under those circumstances until there was a vaccine.

But then again, that isn’t saying a whole lot as the game day experience is far worse than it was 20 years ago.

Of course. I'm over this shit, already had it, and am still single / young. I'm not a "LIBERATE MICHIGAN" dude by any means and lucky enough to have a job that makes good money just home on my laptop. I'm just bored and want regular life to start again, which, when you don't have a family yet, basically consists of work and all of the things we can't do right now. The hospitals have enough room now, no? The plan was never supposed to be to lockdown until a vaccine.

The plan is that I will continue my streak and attend all home games this season if allowed. If they restrict seating to say 1/4 capacity, I will continue my streak at astronomically craptacular prices.

I must have too little imagination, or too much imagination because I want to know so much more about the why of the scenario.   These are some options I’ve come up with:

1. Some sort of very low cost/highly effective, OTC treatment option that you can take at the first sign of symptoms.

2. Numbers have dropped significantly, no one really knows why, various theories include heat/humidity having much larger impact than anticipated

3. Was all fake news, never really was that big a deal.   Deaths were faked as part of huge liberal conspiracy to get rid of Trump.

4. Governments in Washington State and Michigan overthrown by militia, testing greatly reduced.    Restrictions lifted, lots of stories going around about bodies being burned, buried etc to cover growing virus.

Under 1. i’d probably feel pretty comfortable going to a large event.   Under 2, I’d pass.  Under 3 and 4, I’d probably be moving to an isolated cabin in the woods.   Are there other possible scenarios I should be considering?

Absolutely, I would go.

My friend and I are still planning on buying tickets, just in case a treatment or vaccine is found.  Our thinking being it's unlikely this game is going to take place at this time but it's worth a chance.  Ticket prices haven't dropped dramatically over the last three weeks, so I assume I'm not alone in this thinking.

I was at the game the last time we played the Huskies in Seattle, it was a great weekend. (except for the loss)
