You beat me. I would've been 4 minutes late with my post but I looked first.

Didn't they recently give Herman some sort of "vote of confidence"?

Apparently Sark is expected to replace him.  I have never been as enamored with Sarkisian as others but he should good well there.  But he absolutely needs to get a killer DC.

That's sort of my feeling.  Sarkisian is a good coach but having possibly the greatest collection of WR talent in modern college history, a mammoth offensive line, and Najee Harris at your disposal for the couple of years you're there means your QB just sorta has to be functional and you'd do fine.

I live in Texas and I can absolutely tell you he did NOT recruit well at Texas.  He has 1 commit out of the top 25 ranked players in the state of Texas committed to the program for 2021 I believe ( could be '22) and just lost a perfect rated number 1 overall recruit, QB in the '22 class to ohio.  Not to mention Quinn Ewers is a lifelong Texas fan...He has NOT recruited well by Texas standards.

I don’t think “well” is good enough at UT. There is so much instate talent that UT should be top 5 every year, and UT was #8 and #17 in the composite the last two classes. It especially rankles UT fans that OSU, Bama and LSU snagged 5 stars from Texas and OU is the better program. They ran off Mack after a couple of mediocre years despite a NC.

FWIW, I think Herman is a very good coach and the UT fans are irrational.

I think people forget sometimes that having overwhelming talent at your disposal in college is such an advantage.  Sark is a fine coach but when he doesn't have Alabama's level of talent around him (and he won't have that at Texas unless he just destroys it with coordinator hires), my guess is he'll struggle somewhat to replicate the offenses he's fielded recently.

Too bad Herman isn't likely to accept a position coaching job. UM needs him as QB coach. He worked miracles at OSU. Wasn't he the QB coach who prepared 3rd string Cardale Jones for the NC games?

Any talk of money problems is bullshit.  Michigan can afford to part ways with JH, but simply won't do it.  Apparently, both Campbell and Fickell must be expected to be available after the NFL teams make decisions in the next couple of weeks.

Cuz nobody cares.  These schools have plenty of boosters to pay these buyouts so they can get their Nick Saban.

Ross and Al Glickman could easily pay the JH buyout or the buyout for the next coach.

Money is a bullshit excuse.

Michigan simply doesn't care about winning championships anymore

rolled the dice with Sark?

A little surprised, especially after the 'vote of confidence'...

Any chance Harbaugh looks at Herman as an OC, and possibly coaching in waiting?

Horrible move!!  I believe that all of Texas's 3 losses were very close games.  They were in much better shape than Michigan.

Assuming that Sarkesian really is a done deal, was Texas able to pull this off without any leaks?  Or was this rumored (beyond baseless speculation) in the Longhorn-webverse?

If it really is a 'done deal and no one knew until we announced it'...   Hmmm...  That is interesting from a Harbaugh and Michigan perspective.

Anyone follow the Longhorns enough to inform on whether the Sarkesian deal had leaked out?

Sark seems...fine. At USC he was...fine. At Washington, he was... fine. At Texas, he'll be...fine.

Saban, like Belichick, demonstrably doesn't magically transfer his evil genius to assistants.

Whatever. Hook 'em.
