Stapleton Issues Statement Ripping JUB

I just want to watch my beloved Wolverines win a national championship with the best team of my lifetime. I'm so tired of this shit. I should take a break from this blog but my nerves won't let that happen.

This mess is why the Brian, Seth and crew kept Stapleton's name off the board until someone else issued the burn notice.

In the statement, Stapleton refers to JUB as "taking the definition of 'yellow journalism' to a new level" as if that's not exactly what Thamel and Schlabach are doing right now.

Good fucking dumbfuckery, this has just reach the "press conference with shitty hair dye running down your face next to a porn shop" stage.

Can we just move on from this and let the petty people be petty without investing more energy in them? The round table today was almost entire talking about how this is meaningless...for almost an hour.

"You'll be hearing from my lawyer" is the adult version of "I'm taking my ball and going home".

JUB doesn’t say this stuff unless he knows his sources and is confident in what’s going on. So I take his word over a guy who has a very clear and personal agenda against Harbaugh. 

Yeah, okay, the guy has a track record of crying when things don't go his way. This is a natural reaction by him. Of course he's going to say this.

When I watched the tenure of Rich Rod unfold I for sure thought I was looking at the most dysfunctional the program had ever and would ever be. You can not make this stuff up. We have COI members apparently trying to attack their alma mater, JUB outing him, Jamie Morris reading a letter from COI. I mean what is going on here.... Make it stop! 

Before this Stapleton moved in relatively silence in terms of his efforts with the Michigan program.  He's just pissed there's a bright hot spot light on him.  

Makes some sense as there seems to be a constant stream of NCAA infractions against UM's football team since at least 2020. Could Stapleton be doling out information? Is it not ironic that he is busting the school he is a booster of while he sits on the NCAA Infractions Committee?

The discovery in such a lawsuit would be very interesting. If he's lying, it's a major problem.

The statement didn’t actually say anything of substance. It was a pile of puffery weighed down by adjectives - “scurrilous!” Pfft. 

I know how to parse that statement:

"I'm not leaking information to the press from the Committee about our investigation of Michigan because our investigation isn't at the Committee level (yet)." 

guess this is why Thamel's latest "reporting" is a bunch of stuff we already know.  Stapleton was too busy drafting this statement today.

Lol fuck all this. How fucking fractured has this athletic department been the past ~15 years.

At this point you need an AD/President to clean house all the way and bring in outsiders who aren’t tied to the school (or specific former head coaches) at all.

This all screams petty shit because of the various factions vying for stupid things.

This is exactly what this statement is, "ripping JUB," when it should be, "Stapleton Issues Statement Denying He's the Leak" or some such, which he in no way did.

All the ad hominem in the world wouldn't be as effective as him simply stating, "it wasn't me," and he didn't do that.

Interesting dilemma for Stapleton now. 

If he goes too soft on Michigan it will look like he is backing off in fear because Bacon is telling the truth.  

If he goes too hard on Michigan it will look like he is piling on in anger because Bacon is telling the truth.

When Jim Stapleton gets irritated, he uses "Scurrilous."  When he reaches the white-hot rage level, he goes with "Scalawag."  

Please, pretty please will you let Stapleton be dumb enough to sue JUB for defamation. Not only is he fighting an uphill battle with JUB being a journalist, I would love to see the discovery that would go on during this case. 

What on earth could make a man have so much hate and vengeance towards his alma mater? Let's put it all out on the table Jim. People that I know that have worked with him have described him as an "odd duck" and someone who's out of touch with his own importance.

Threatening a lawsuit moves me no more than gibberish.  Actually filing suit would get my attention, though I'll wait for discovery before making more of a conclusion.

Stapleton: "I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!"

There is a less than zero chance this man might get his house toilet papered on Halloween.

That is one insecure response to something you supposedly didn’t do. 

 I know Stapleton.  I wouldn’t say we’re friends, but we’re friendly.  Having chatted with him in some depth about M football, JUB, and Harbaugh specifically (no contact for a month or so), I would say that much of the vitriol directed against him here is very likely unfounded.  Well all find out in the next couple months.  Peace.

Didn't JUB talk about Stapleton doing whatever he could to make sure RichRod failed in one of his books? Did Stapleton ever go after him for that?  

I liked JUB response this morning. Stapleton realizing such an involved response does seem a little odd. I get you don't like what JUB said but the responses is pretty cringeworthy.
