I lived across the street…

I lived across the street from the Cottage Inn on E WIlliam in Tower Plaza for three years. That pizza was incredible, especially hot out of the oven.

"No!  The program is in…

"No!  The program is in shambles. We haven't won a game in more than two weeks!  I looked out my window just now and there are wet droplets of the sky falling to the ground!  THE SKY IS LITERALLY FALLING!"

This made me literally laugh out loud - needed that today!

Go Blue!

I overestimated how many…

I overestimated how many points Washington would score - my deepest and humblest apologies to Michigan's defense.

My buddy who was at the game on corporate tix asked me for my prediction, and I told him:

M 34-24

Hail to the Victors!

Watched '97 in the crowd at…

Watched '97 in the crowd at the Rose Bowl as a Michigan senior.

Watched this one from my home.

Blessed to see two in my lifetime, and both wins are so, so, so, very sweet.

Love this school, love Team 144.

Everything about Phil Fulmer…

Everything about Phil Fulmer sucks.

I remember that night - the…

I remember that night - the press in Yost were actually huddled around a TV in that right corner watching the Heisman ceremony on a TV. They erupted in cheers when he was announced as the winner, and when word filtered around, the crowd started a "Charles Woodson" chant.

Pretty sure M blew out whomever they were playing that night,  but even if they didn't,  that whole night was a big win for the Wolverines.

Not that it matters one iota…

Not that it matters one iota, but does it seem like when SEC teams like Alabama and Georgia are #1, their players basically sweep the individual awards, but when Michigan is #1 and dominating, they get nary a single individual award winner?

Guys like Sainristil, Barrett (whom PFF graded out as their top LB), Loveland, Zinter, etc., get no love.

So, only one thing left to do...win the whole damn thing.

Stephen A Smith says, "hold…

Stephen A Smith says, "hold my beer."

FSU is going to get their No…

FSU is going to get their No. 2 QB back before the CFP - this version of FSU was *still* able to win with their 3rd string QB, but I hope the committee realizes that FSU is going to have their backup available by then.

Not holding my breath, though. Also, that FSU defense is no slouch either - would probably be the second best behind Michigan's in the playoff.

I think you have to have an…

I think you have to have an undefeated winner of a Power 5 conference in the Championship mix. It would be insane to set that precedent at this point - they would be signaling the death knell of the ACC to leave them out.

1) Michigan

2) Washington

3) Texas/FSU

4) FSU/Texas

Mikey - a true leader…

Mikey - a true leader through and through.

Semaj is definitely not…

Semaj is definitely not short on confidence.

Love it!

One more stop and then…

One more stop and then Petitti really begins to sweat!

Michigan is currently…

Michigan is currently covering the original spread with that FG.

Need to cover the original…

Need to cover the original spread. :)

I think they are trying to…

I think they are trying to get him into the end zone for the record,

I think they are trying to…

I think they are trying to get Corum the 56th TD.

I think he sitting somewhere…

I think he sitting somewhere questioning his life choices right now.

Are you guys ready for…

Are you guys ready for Petitti handing that trophy to Harbaugh??

I'm so pumped for it!

JJ has made the throws when…

JJ has made the throws when he's had time in the pocket, but receivers have definitely let him down today with dropped passes.

He hasn't looked his usual self scrambling when the pocket breaks down, and the OL definitely has a higher failure rate today than in any other game I can remember. The protection has broken down much quicker, giving him less time to find an open receiver.

The OL seems particularly…

The OL seems particularly porous today.

Iowa's secondary must be the…

Iowa's secondary must be the best we've faced all year. Haven't taken a single shot deep all game. Maybe some of that is the offensive line being basically a sieve today?

Defensive MVP: Mikey Sainristil

Someone should do a welfare…

Someone should do a welfare check on that bar in Iowa giving out the free beers.

Today might be their last night in business, and they might need a bunch of ambulances to treat for alcohol poisoning.

I think the Big Ten realizes…

I think the Big Ten realizes at this point they need Michigan to win this game to get a CFP money to the conference.

Mikey Sainstrill is the MVP…

Mikey Sainristil is the MVP of this game.

Woah - what a turn of events…

Woah - what a turn of events. I guess the Big Ten realizes they need Michigan in the CFP for the payout.

Michigan recovered around…

Michigan recovered around the 10 yard line, but there definitely were some whistles blown after the ball hit the turf.

Not sure what they can do with this one.

OL definitely does not look…

OL definitely does not look the same without Zinter - JJ doesn't seem to trust the protection as much as usual (and rightfully so), and isn't really reading the defense well.

Wouldn't be a problem if Michigan could run the ball, but again, not having Zinter is a problem against Iowa's D.

Thank God for Tommy Doman.

I blame Cade McNamara for…

I blame Cade McNamara for sharing all his knowledge of Michigan with Iowa before this game.

JJ seems like he is locking…

JJ seems like he is locking into one receiver - he's missed a lot of open checkdowns with Edwards in the middle of the field for significant yardage.

"To hell with Notre Dame!"

"To hell with Notre Dame!"

Herbstreit also seems to…

Herbstreit also seems to think he needs to fill every second of every minute with his voice, regardless of whether there is actually something to say.

And what he says is rarely insightful.

Nothing he says is going to…

Nothing he says is going to make any difference in Indiana's fortunes against Michigan.

Peacock cameraman needs to…

Peacock cameraman needs to zoom out a little and stop panning so quickly up and down and left to right.

The current coverage is making me sea sick...borderline unwatchable.

Team 144 is the best in recent memory - has a chance to be better than the legendary '97 Championship team.

I agree - sports writers are…

I agree - sports writers are entertainment writers.

As I've said before, the purveyors of this sports entertainment blog do it better than most anyone else, but it's still covering entertainment.

Exactly, it not like he said…

Exactly, it not like he said they, “...better hope for a mercy rule this year because we are going to hang 100 on them.”

Or was like, a grown-ass man (as opposed to a teenager) when he said it...

Right? It was free when I…

Right? It was free when I purchased a bunch of Michigan gear right when Harbaugh was first hired - best bobblehead ever!

Also, I do enjoy the wheated bourbon, so the Larceny Barrel Proof is always a good one that is generally more available than the Weller family.

VA does a "lottery" for…

VA does a "lottery" for allocated stuff that is so obviously rigged. For the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, some people miraculously "won" four different bottles.

Word got out that small groups of people were winning everything, so they "changed" the process. No doubt it will just be spread amongst a larger group of friends vs all to a select few.

Bunker is pretty full, so these days, my favorites these days are Four Roses SB OESV, Wild Turkey Father and Son, and a good Buffalo Trace store pick from a DC retailer.

Happy Michigan got the win…

Happy Michigan got the win today, #1,000.

The work is not done - time to refocus for next week.
