This supports the lone actor theory.  If this were orchestrated from above, they’d have kept him on staff to buy his silence.

I feel sorry for him.  His dream job just exploded in flames, and the thing he appears to love more than anything else in the world is now going to bring him nothing but misery.  He brought it on himself, of course, but there’s still a human being involved here.

I bet the media is going to be chasing him for his version and he may have a book deal in place at some point. They’ll probably try to get him to say that harbaugh was the mastermind. Will be interesting to see whether he tries to stretch his moment in the spotlight and sensationalize the story or be truthful.

Apparently Stalions refused to cooperate with either internal or external investigations, and didn't show up for a meeting with Michigan investigators, possibly on the advice of his lawyer. This is the strongest possible evidence of the rogue staffer theory:

Connor Stalions refused to cooperate with any internal or external investigations or discussions, source said. https://t.co/NuvOehnRb3

Source confirms Michigan has fired analyst Connor Stalions, at the center of the NCAA signal stealing investigation, as @DanWetzel first reported. I’m told Stalions did not attend a meeting with Michigan officials today, possibly on advice of his counsel.

We can take solace in Sopwith's original post on this matter and assume Stallions will land on his feet in some bizarre corporate espionage role one day soon.

I suggest he get a better wig before then though, and maybe a cheek lift to throw off facial recognition.

I know they're not out of the woods yet and I'm sure some type of sanction is forthcoming but the dude stole signs that are clearly visible to anyone in the fucking stands. He didn't break into a vault to get them or kidnap an opposing coach to extract the play calls.

That said, he shouldn't have recorded them and dispersed a team of minions to help but it's not like he fixed the fucking game or took out the opposing team's QB's legs with a pipe Kerrigan-style. Folks acting like this is the ultimate shame need to sit down. How he got on CMU's sidelines says more about CMU/MSU than himself. Dude's a creep and we're all glad he's gone but one rake through the coals is enough for this transgression.

He got caught, lost his job, and brought an unwanted shitstorm to the program he loved. By all accounts, he hasn't disparaged the program verbally and he's taking his licks like a dude. At least by my account, he's square with the house again.

Nah, fuck him. He’s a selfish little prick. Think about how much time guys like like JJ, Blake, CJo, Mikey have put in. Blood, sweat, and tears literally. Broken bones and injuries that may impact them for the rest of their lives. They’ve probably shaved years off their lives. And this dumb fucking idiot may have cost them that and cast a shadow over their accomplishments. Seriously, fuck him. I don’t feel bad for him at all.

This is why our last podcast is titled "Think of the Children"

This is victim theater and socially accepted. The thing is the participants of vicitm theater are actively and disingenuously trying to cause more harm then all of this "spygate" crap would ever cause.

There are 100,000 people at these games with cell phones

There are millions watching a national broadcast. What the fuck super secret event is this that these pearl clutchers think is going on?

As others posted above, it appears Michigan apparently fired him for refusing to cooperate in our internal investigation. That is very incriminating, and it is certainly a very logical and reasonable inference, if true, that he did something wrong. But it is far short of Michigan knowing/proving for a fact that he did something wrong.

Seems to me this is Michigan firing a guy that cheated, jeopardizing the program. And lied to our coaches about it. It's the right thing to do regardless of who it appeases. If he really acted alone, and I think he did, he's hurt the program more than anyone else in a long time.

Briles is coaching American football in Italy. No one forgot.

Freeze was fired for calling escorts and players were getting paid by the program under his watch. Only the latter has to do with football and no one cares.

CS is a lone wolf who acts outside of generally accepted bounds. And he doesn’t have a track record that demonstrates he’s remotely worth the risk. Anything is possible I guess, but I’d put money against it.

Anybody who thinks this appeases the mob is crazy and hasn’t been on twitter/x lately. They are all sorts of batshit crazy over there and demanding everybody who ever said a word to stalions needs to be fired.

that said, fuck the mob. Do what’s right.

There will be a large number of teams who will want him, I bet.

Maybe he can get a huge raise and a new job tomorrow if he wants it.
