SI article on Connor Stalions (with text conversation from 2021)
I really hate to add another thread to this whole b.s., but... there is actually some new/relevant information in this article. Provides insight into Stallions previous duties and his character.
The guy seemed a bit... too emotionally invested, for quite some time.

I like the way you think.
Something tells me it will not play out this way.

Curious to hear your thoughts on rule 4.11.h, which some are saying pretty clearly prohibits any attempts to film or record staff signals to players. If the "scouts" in the stands are clearly recording the opposing sideline, I would imagine that violates the rule.
October 26th, 2023 at 1:18 AM ^
Hey, this rule is not really relevant (though OSU fans love to post about it on their message boards). This rule is in the 2023 NCAA Football Rules book, and not part of the general NCAA rules/legislation that governs athletic programs.
The football rule book governs the rules of games being played. It is in a section entitled "Prohibited Field Equipment." This part of the rule book governs things like the number of headsets teams can use during games, etc.
In short, the rule would prohibit Michigan from recording an opponent's sideline during a game at Michigan Stadium.
It is literally a rule about equipment not allowed on the field while a game is being played. It has nothing to do with paying 3rd parties to sit in a stadium and record the game of some future opponent.

This is the main things that matter in the article:
"The specific act Stalions described—deciphering opponents’ signals off of TV footage—is not against NCAA rules."
Jim Harbaugh has also denied knowledge of any plan to illegally steal signals and said he did not direct any staff members to participate in off-campus scouting. “I do not condone or tolerate anyone doing anything illegal or against NCAA rules,” he said.
October 25th, 2023 at 12:57 PM ^
Completely agree Comrade. This article buttresses the “rogue actor” theory. If he is not a rogue actor, then Josh Gattis (who he claims to have helped) will probably say so to the NCAA and B1G. (Gattis declined to talk to the reporter of this article.)
October 25th, 2023 at 1:28 PM ^
Yeah Gattis didn’t talk. He doesn’t want any of his past transgressions on video.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:48 PM ^
Well he was an Alabama guy.
Everybody in all of college football except Ohio State and Michigan State desperately wants this story to go away. And Ohio State and Michigan State are too stupid to realize that they should want this story to go away too.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
If he helped Gattis and those were the results, maybe he's not that great at his job
October 25th, 2023 at 2:06 PM ^
Boy howdy...
Yet, somehow, Gattis is still living off his Broyles Award.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:12 PM ^
Personally, I find it hilarious that there are like 20 CFB Reddit posts right now that are all variations of:
[Thamel] Source NEW: Stalions bought tickets to a [Fill in team name] game!!!!
October 25th, 2023 at 1:29 PM ^
He should have bought a ticket to Delaware state or something just to mess with everybody.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
The day isn't over yet. I would not count that out the way things have been going.
I am expecting to see Grand Valley State on the list soon
October 25th, 2023 at 1:44 PM ^
r/CFB is a cesspool right now. If you say anything that counters the circle jerk narrative going on right now, then you get mass downvoted
October 25th, 2023 at 1:52 PM ^
It's a hot mess. The crowd has already reached their conclusion (Connor Stallions buying tickets ===> a vast Michigan conspiracy signed off on by Santa Ono himself) and pushing back on it (especially if you're a flaired Michigan fan) just gets you a "lol yeah right idiot" and a -50
Just gonna have to wait for the torch and pitchfork mob to quiet down and wait for actual info to come out. Those guys think the death penalty is on the table for this, so theres just no room for any nuance with them right now
October 25th, 2023 at 2:28 PM ^
It always gets like that. Like 3 of the 5 biggest flairs are UM rivals. I remember getting spam downvoted for saying "No, the somewhat uncomfortable interview with Cowherd is not going to have a meaningful impact on recruiting. You guys are acting weird."
October 25th, 2023 at 2:24 PM ^
It was one of my favorite places regarding college football, but so many people that aren't flaired Michigan are saying the death penalty, the worst scandal in sports history, vacate all of Harbaugh's wins, etc.
All of this is because of an investigation that started last week, but I suppose people are predisposed to begin at a conclusion and work backward to try and make it fit.
I unsubbed for the time being. I'll probably rejoin, but I am not sure if it will be this season.
October 25th, 2023 at 5:50 PM ^
They're unhinged over there. Any reasonable posts with an M flair are downvoted into oblivion. Half of them are replied to by OSU and MSU flairs with "cope" (as if it's not OSU fans heavy on the copium saying how this clearly and totally explains their last two ass whoopings).
I feel like I'm going crazy. This sucks and it's a big deal, but it's also not THAT big of a deal and the attention to it over there is obsessive. It's going to result in punishments, but I would be shocked if it was the "vacate wins and postseason ban" variety, yet there are so many self-righteous posters who think that it should.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:19 PM ^
This part did jump out a little bit. It was before he was on the staff and everything, but it's never good to see a careless money trail to this guy (even if it was just for coffee or something) ...
A review of Stalions’s now deleted Venmo account did show that Jay Harbaugh sent Stalions money in 2017, with the O.K. hand gesture emoji in the memo line, though no purpose or amount for the transfer was indicated.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:21 PM ^
TWIST: The Venmo from JayBaugh was for $10M!!!
October 25th, 2023 at 1:24 PM ^
One transfer from 6 years ago raises no concerns (was it even during football season?) But a pattern of transfers may cause more concern. Since that’s not in the article I’m guessing there’s no evidence of that.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:35 PM ^
Exactly. If there were even 2 transactions there would be a screaming headline:
JAY HARBOUGH SENT CONNOR STALIONS MULTIPLE VENMOS SINCE 2017
October 25th, 2023 at 1:49 PM ^
I saw the screenshot of it on Twitter and am 90% sure it was in June 2017
October 25th, 2023 at 1:56 PM ^
I mean, it could be something but if Stallions professed to be close to Jay, it seems unsurprising they would've shared a venmo transaction at some point. I have venmo transactions with all my close friends. Shrug.
October 25th, 2023 at 3:46 PM ^
It was for a prepaid tee-time that Shae Patterson had booked.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:20 PM ^
That story screams “lone wolf” from the rooftops. It’s the best news I’ve seen all week.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:17 PM ^
What revelations? That a UM adjunct for 1 year spent his own personal money to buy seats for friends who can be seen on video holding up their cell phones toward the field? Ouch.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:27 PM ^
Crazy how private texts are getting passed off to media outlets. Whether it's Stapleton or whatever, the NCAA sure does pride itself on unprofessionalism
October 25th, 2023 at 2:41 PM ^
Reminds me of a former “contributor” on this blog.
October 25th, 2023 at 12:46 PM ^
Clearly a weird, maniacal, overly intense guy. No wonder Jim Harbaugh hired him
October 25th, 2023 at 12:49 PM ^
If WD and Richard Jewell had a baby, it would be Connor Stalions.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:12 PM ^
hahahah dying
October 25th, 2023 at 1:14 PM ^
Lol. Post of the year.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:25 PM ^
There’s a 90% chance this guy has/had an account on here. (And a 50% chance he rarely uses it because he subscribes to all the pay sites).
I’ll say this:
600 pages is a lot. And if *I* think a guy is being too wordy, well…
October 25th, 2023 at 1:30 PM ^
Already found it (below in thread):
October 25th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
He was just a kid at the time, barely out of high school.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:43 PM ^
Another youth sullied by MGoBlog... have to start early, you know.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:20 PM ^
Gil from Omaha is/was Conor Stalions?
October 25th, 2023 at 2:19 PM ^
Pretty sure it's lower bowl. I'm row 83 and it seems like I only go up a few rows past the entrance
October 25th, 2023 at 1:57 PM ^
A guy with a 600 page manifesto about Michigan football has absolutely posted here. I know above they found his old account with his name in it. I'd bet he also moved onto another account that wasn't so obvious since. Someone with enough time on their hands could probably make an educated guess after enough digging I'd bet
October 25th, 2023 at 2:15 PM ^
I, and others, have said in other threads that he could be Ghost of Jermaine. In the text messages described in the article he refers to Chris Partridge by his initials too.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:23 PM ^
This seems likely a very likely explanation. I assume GoJ hasn't posted recently?
October 25th, 2023 at 2:28 PM ^
Pretty Much stopped right before the season. Last post

GoJG posted his name once (accidentally) and it wasn’t this guy.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:36 PM ^
LOL.
I was thinking more Billy Beane from Money Ball crossed with the Unibomber.
October 25th, 2023 at 12:51 PM ^
He sounds fucking nuts. But on the bright side, he also sounds like exactly the guy who would go rogue to run a covert sign-stealing operation. And if he was indeed doing this pre-covid based off TV footage, then that could explain why the staff didn't question his abilities.
October 25th, 2023 at 2:08 PM ^
After all this angst, it looks like this will end up being the “Burn After Reading” of college football scandals.
October 25th, 2023 at 12:52 PM ^
Soooo... considering this guy's maniacal fascination with UM, there's a probably a pretty great chance that he was also a poster on mGoBlog.
Crazy to think about.
October 25th, 2023 at 12:53 PM ^
He was rolldamntide.
October 25th, 2023 at 1:06 PM ^
Well, hello there, Connor!
