Rooting for MSU or OSU?

I get it, I hate both teams and universities with every bone in my body and wish both could somehow lose, but that isn’t an option. So, which team will you be hoping wins Saturday night? I personally will be hoping for an OSU blowout, I love seeing Sharty lose and RCMB implode.

I am hoping for a very tough physical game that osu manages to eke out but in doing so exposes their achilles heel which every other team on their schedule is able to exploit.  Especially US!!

MSU.  We've shown we can actually beat them from time to time.

We need more teams to beat OSU, just so we can see what it looks like . . .

Unless I know a MSU victory over OSU guarantees something for UM I always root for OSU over MSU.   A MSU victory does not change the long term trajectory of OSU.  A MSU victory over OSU impacts them more in that it gives them more ammo for instate recruiting.  If MSU is down, UM owns the state.   I believe if MSU struggles in this very tough stretch Dantonio is gone.

Nobody fucking gets it.  MSU's bread a butter recruiting is in OHIO.  People on this board talking about us owning the state, or "putting a wall around Detroit" are clueless.  Sparty gets a few good Michigan kids no matter what, but the state of Michigan has always been mostly ours.  If they beat OSU, the bigger deal is that they get more recruiting traction in Ohio.

i want O$U to literally lose every single game

anytime i notice that they are in a close game or losing at halftime, i try to turn on the game to revel in their pain.. i get joy out of them being known for blowing seasons against shitty teams.

unfortunately this is both a joy and a horror for me because for whatever reason they always have a bunch of games every year that they are about to blow against a shitty team and then end up pulling out a win.. or they do lose (VT) and then end up winning the national title.

overall, i dont think the losses to purdue and iowa the last two years have outweighed the amount of times O$U ended up winning the games and pissing me off for a second time that day (because michigan probably already pissed me off). so i should probably end this habit of watching their games.

in the end, i am from ohio so my perspective of ohio state is much worse than most who attend michigan or are michigan fans. i feel that because most people from michigan are not surrounded by O$U fans (whereas they are surrounded by MSU fans), they actually dislike MSU more than O$U. but take my word for it.. you should hate O$U more than MSU, the fans are 10000x worse.

When I was young, it was hate OSU with a passion, but after having worked and lived(and even attending MSU)in spartinaland for 40 years, their fanbase convinced me to root for OSU.  There must be a way they could both lose, as they are already losers

I root against MSU in every game in every sport and also in all other respects, so I root for OSU against MSU. I don't know whose fan base is more reprehensible, but I've had a lot more exposure to MSU fans, and they deserve to be unhappy. So I root for their unhappiness.

Torn on this one.

Intellectually, I want OSU to lose.  Everything screams it's in our benefit, they are our biggest rival, and it's really nice seeing them eat humble pie.

In my heart: let MSU get ripped apart.  They're our in-state rival, their fans are acting as if they've been this elite team for generations when the truth is that they're "Johnny-come-lately" in the realm of real sustained success, and to be frank, there's a part of me that can't help but wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes with this suit Blackwell is bringing against Dantonio.

Plus, it's in C-bus, and the Buckeyes look that much better, so it's really a moot point.

So I guess I'll just settle for rooting for the officials to throw yellow laundry every other play.

Rooting for MSU and I hope they go full Sparty with headhunting and all. I would rather battle MSU for first place in the division than OSU and anyway MSU will probably lose 2 or 3 more times anyway

I'm delighted that one of them will lose. I'm sorry that one of them has to win. I think losing hurts OSU more, so I'm gladder when they lose. That is all.

OSU 42 MSU 10. Doesn’t matter who wins because both will beat UM this year. Blue collar tough players on both teams teams while UM roster is mostly country club mentality

So far it appears OSU is going to blow everyone out this year anyway so I’m hoping they just obliterate MSU. I absolutely hate both schools and past and present coaches but for me, MSU just slightly edges out MSU on the disgust meter.

I'm rooting for a great game of football.  I take pride in our conference, and always have the attitude that it's all up to us.  All we have to do is handle our business, no need to hate the competition.  If we do the things we need to do, then nothing else should matter.  Go Blue!!!!

I dunno, I'm a bit of a glass half-full kind of guy...  So I'll be rooting for the asteroid, but I'll enjoy watching the losing team's fans cry regardless..  Gotta stay positive.

I live in Columbus and osu is a national powerhouse...I love when they lose.

MSU really doesn’t exist outside of Michigan. I’m sure it sucks getting crap if you live in Michigan but honestly it’s like they don’t even exist outside of 4 hours, once a year.

osu on the other hand...nauseating.
