Rooting for MSU or OSU?

I get it, I hate both teams and universities with every bone in my body and wish both could somehow lose, but that isn’t an option. So, which team will you be hoping wins Saturday night? I personally will be hoping for an OSU blowout, I love seeing Sharty lose and RCMB implode.

I only root for Michigan. Rooting for any other college team, especially in the Big 10, is beyond me to understand or consider. However, I definitely want OSU to lose, even though I think they will kill MSU. I can't stand the idea of OSU winning out and playing in the National Championship. Don't want that to happen, and I am sure it won't happen for MSU. Now, I want to put this next statement the right way. I don't want MSU to play dirty, and try to hurt people in a bad way. I don't want injuries. However, I hope that the MSU defense beats the crap out of OSU, and really causes some pain for Fields, because he won't throw the ball away. EDIT: I don't live in Michigan, don't work with MSU grads, fans, or partisans, and don't have any relations affiliated with MSU in any way. As such, I realize that many of you have to deal with them far more than I do. MSU fans and juggalos are greatly annoying. However, they really are the annoying little brother, and not evil incarnate. From my perspective, OSU is the real enemy, and the real threat. Until Michigan pulls equal with OSU, or pulls ahead, I will always be for anything that hurts them and helps us. All you have to do is compare records of the three schools. (Google, How many national championships does OSU/UM/MSU have, and you can quickly see.) I want anything that helps us keep the gap in overall wins, and anything that keeps OSU from a national championship. Also, I strongly believe Michigan can beat MSU this year. After last year's fiasco, and our play against Wisconsin, my confidence is shaken in terms of our ability to beat OSU.

Hierarchy of my hatred: 1.  OSU. 2. ND. 3. MSU.  Always makes it easy to decide which team to root against when they play.  Plus, MSU isn’t going anywhere this year; if they managed to spoil a postseason for the Bucks, that would be great.

ND is alot closer to our program than you think, and its silly to hate them.  They are a clean program and their fans are very pleasant.. Go to a game in South Bend before you 'hate' them.   Then go to Columbus, get sucker punched, your car keyed, get a speeding ticket on 75...  then head over to EL...

Rooting for?  Neither.  But if the game should end in such a way that Sparty tears flow like the mighty Mississip' and they have to keep their blowholes shut for another week....well I guess that would be ok.

Rooting for MSU.

Hate OSU more.

We have a better shot beating MSU so an added loss for OSU is more ideal. MSU more likely to drop additional games.

MSU winning could maybe keep Dantonio around to run that program straight into the ground.

So, hypothetically we're still in the running for the B1G championship right?

With that in mind, I feel like we need MSU to hand OSU a loss. MSU at home is going to be a more manageable game for us than OSU, IMO, and so we need OSU to rack up a loss or two here and there.

This shouldn't be construed as 'rooting for' MSU (I'd characterize it as hoping for an OSU loss), but rather what would be most beneficial to Michigan.

I suppose on the recruiting trail, an MSU win over OSU could be damaging, but I'm speaking for a short-term, goal-seeking perspective.

This is easy, and there is only one correct answer.

You pull for MSU to win, because it is better for Michigan.

To pull for OSU would just be stupid.

When two teams I don't like play each other, I don't start out rooting for either team.  But as it becomes clear who's going to win, I start rooting for them.  It's slightly more pleasant to root for the team that is winning, and I concentrate on the fact that a team I don't like is getting beat.

I hope that good sportsmanship prevails, and that both teams show great spirit and respect for each other.  I also do not believe in capital punishment.  But I do hope dangerous criminals have their livers cut out and made into wallets, as they are being forced to eat their kidneys from bowls that used to be their kneecaps.

Let's see. . . which record-setting serial rape-accommodating institution do I prefer?

Actually, I'm just gonna go with the likely scenario: MSU gets ripped a pile o' new ones and limps between porta-potties from now to November.

MSU. Win the state 1st. Then if we decide to ride with the big boys, root for OSU. When we beat them it's playoff time for us.

#PLAY BEAVER STRONG.

IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO PLAY.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PULL FOR EITHER TEAM.

You don't have to "get behind" anyone losing. You can just enjoy watching one team lose and take no pleasure in the other team winning.  That is how I look at it.

If forced to opine on a best case outcome, I would say:

I want it to be a close game.  That means OSU is not that great. We already know MSU is not that great (see ASU, IU, etc.).  The outcome itself is irrelevant since we need to play both. (Gun to my head, I guess I would rather both teams also have an L after the game.)

That gives me the most hope that our flawed team could still win a Big Ten title.

This isn't even a debate for me, I want sparty to lose by 50. I never root for sparty, would rather see osu win. My hate rankings go sparty 1, osu 2, ND 3.

The pragmatic side of me says to root for MSU because the more losses you can hang on OSU, the better our chances to take the Division.

The emotional side says fuck Dantonio and fuck MSU and their rape-culture whitewashing fans.

The good news is that somebody is going to lose on Saturday, and let's be honest here, Sparty is going to get the whole fist this weekend, I don't care how good their defensive front seven are; OSU is going to rip them to shreds.

I’m rooting for MSU to win a close game that features a lot of injuries to both teams (that don’t cause permanent life harm).

If OSU wins, I hope it’s a complete blowout.
