OT: Dylan McCaffrey on staff?
This picture immediately piqued my curiosity as I thought I recognized the non-JJ person. I think it's Dylan McCaffrey, which would mean he's on the staff as a GA? Can anyone confirm or deny? If it's not him, man, what a look-a-like. If it is, what does that say about Harbaugh's cache in the coaching community that he would come back (leaving his Dad in the process) to the school from which he transferred to jump-start his coaching career? BTW, preliminary searching for staff GAs, or even up-to-date info on DMac proved worthless.

Whether it's McCaffrey or not, does this person's presence on the sideline automatically mean he's a GA? Couldn't it just be a guy who was invited to be on the sideline?

He was out in pregame tossing back passes Harbaugh caught from JJ, don't know if that adds anything to this. I noticed who I thought was Dylan too and posted to the r/cfb game thread and didn't really get any answers there.

My memory of the Amazon special in 2017 was that McCaffery had the ability to get on camera a lot. Like he was always in the right place to be in the shot. So this check out.
Slightly related, has anyone else noticed this about Fred Jackson? Maybe I'm only noticing because it's on my mind, but it seems like I see him in sideline shots at least five times a game.

Fred's a legendary character and all the camera people know this. They can't help focusing on him. He's like "Norma Desmond" in Sunset Boulevard, but not crazy.

i noticed that this week, too!
so, i'll speak for my brother here - he was a manager under moeller...his first year, he was on the cords of t.j.weist, whose in-game job was to shield moeller from the opposite sideline as moeller signalled in the plays. so, as it happened, my brother was on tv CONSTANTLY...as in, every single time moeller was on screen, so was my brother. it was a running joke in the family, and remains so to this day.
maybe ol' fred is like my brother, only old.

When I hiked the PCT in 2021, someone was asking if we knew a guy on trail and described him, totally seriously, as a "white guy with a beard", as if that would narrow it down. It would be quicker to list the hikers who were not white guys with beards.
And yes, as a white guy with a beard, we do all look the same. Don't care, having a beard is less work than shaving and makes me look like I'm actually 30 and not 15.

Declan Byle. I work for his dad. Have not had a chance to ask what he is doing with the team now. I have seen him in all the games this year wearing a head set. And working with JJ. He was a walk on last year. Maybe working towards being a future coach after college?
