Ha, yeah sorry. I realize it's Poole, but it did take my eyes a bit to figure out what I was looking at when I first brought up that post.

10 weeks 2 days ago True, what was written had a

True, what was written had a lot of historical president to go on. But it's still a rough read.

10 weeks 2 days ago Yeah that's an interesting

Yeah that's an interesting point about this class. I think Omameh was the lowest rated too? I think Mike Martin could be that conversation, but his career has been stalled by injuries.

15 weeks 1 day ago Yeah, there were a number of

Yeah, there were a number of things in this month that pointed to his work habits as being slipshod, at best. In one of the mailbags there was someone who claimed to work for a major booster at Tulane who said RR wasn't considered for the head coach after Tommy Bowden left because he always had one major skrew up (something to that effect). Now, it certainly seems like more of a pattern.

17 weeks 4 days ago Growing up in Armada

Growing up in Armada Township, Dick Enberg was certainly extra famous. Sad news.

19 weeks 6 days ago Ha, yeah sorry, but I'll

Ha, yeah sorry, but I'll probably continue. Maybe I'm just a gluton for punshment.

One of the reasons I started this series two years ago was a faint memory of the crazy days just before the 2010 season. I think Pete Carroll was just dismissed from USC, and I think Troy Woolfolk had just been injured for the season. The college football world seemed to be tipped upside down, and the season hadn't even started. I think this was the time of the original posbang because everyone needed an emotional lift. I want to go back and see what that was all about.

I would be interesting to try to find all the board posts throughout these eras too, but I don't have time for that.

23 weeks 3 hours ago Yeah, I wouldn't take that as

Yeah, I wouldn't take that as fact. There is a lot of stuff that gets lost in ten years. The Blogspot page kept a little more, but even then it will say zero comments but Brian will later make reference to the comments in the open thread or comments on the post, etc.

23 weeks 3 hours ago Yikes! Thanks. Autofill

Yikes! Thanks. Autofill giveth and autofill taketh away...

27 weeks 15 hours ago Ah thanks. Sometimes Brian's

Ah thanks. Sometimes Brian's writing in this era was obscure. Some big event would pass and he would only give it a passing mention, or he would write about a basketball game but you wouldn't know the score or even who won without looking it up separately. It doesn't help that most of the ten year old links are broken.

The Jason Witlock piece was November 2005.

28 weeks 4 days ago I grew up about a mile from

I grew up about a mile from Blakes...and was probably only there once or twice in my life. It was a lot cheaper to grow our own strawberries, and we would buy apples and cider from the orchards in Romeo.

30 weeks 4 days ago Oh you know, the uneventful

Oh you know, the uneventful Carr to Harbaugh transition was so easy. I thought this timeline gave the history some spice.

31 weeks 3 days ago Stevie Brown got a -5 on the

Stevie Brown got a -5 on the third play of the season in 2007. Oh whoops, I just gave a big spoiler to This Month in MGoBlog History. Not that anyone will want to read it...

I would like to see some things like this tracked. Who has gotten the biggest negative/positive on one play. Who has gotten the best overall score at east positions, etc.

39 weeks 14 hours ago Ah good thought, thanks.

Ah good thought, thanks.

39 weeks 5 days ago Yeah that didn't turn out

Yeah that didn't turn out very well. I'm not sure if there's a good way to block quote block quotes. The preview is pretty ridiculous.

43 weeks 6 days ago Yeah, or like watching a

Yeah, or like watching a suspense movie that you've seen before and yelling at the person not to go into the basement because you know what the next seven years are like, but you also know that it's pointless because they aren't going to stop.

43 weeks 6 days ago Thanks! I appreciate the

Thanks! I appreciate the encouragement.

Weird, I'm fairly certainly I had a good link last night. Thanks for finding the right one. I've edited the original post.

1 year 7 weeks ago Here's a fun piece Brian did

Here's a fun piece Brian did on Mandel 10 years ago yesterday (I just saw this working on the "This month in MGo history diary").

http://mgoblog.com/content/stewart-mandel-wants-be-troy-smiths-bridget-moynahan

1 year 9 weeks ago Yep, thanks, I've edited it

Yep, thanks, I've edited it to correct that. For some reason I've always struggled with that name. I guess I only have to worry about it for another month or so.

1 year 9 weeks ago Interesting, I shoul have

Interesting, I shoul have looked more closely to see he got drafted. Here are his college stats. Which school got the better end of the ROJO/Warren swap is tough to say. Warren certainly had a good deal of conflict through his career, injuries, coaching, etc.

1 year 9 weeks ago I appreciate all Wagners.

I appreciate all Wagners. Seriously, we considered naming our son (born last August) Moritz. We didn't but did keep somewhat of a 'M' theme and went with Henry Fielding.

1 year 11 weeks ago Excellent! Thanks for

Excellent! Thanks for sharing.

1 year 11 weeks ago Yeah that's an excellent

Yeah that's an excellent example. I'm sure she would been a big draw to any 18 year olds ready to commit to Michigan.

Glad I can brighten everyone's day in one way or another.

1 year 13 weeks ago That's fascinating. Thanks

That's fascinating. Thanks for sharing.

1 year 13 weeks ago As I've done this series, I

As I've done this series, I am continually amazed at where we've come as a fanbase. The attitude and ideas from then seemed so simple and childlike. I guess you could say we're jaded now, but if there's anything good to come out of it, hopefully we appreciate what we have now all the more.

1 year 14 weeks ago I forgot about him. He would

I forgot about him. He would certainly be a candidate. A good talent at a position of significant need the next few years. Plus he went on to be a succes, and he was an in-state recruit.

1 year 14 weeks ago Interesting. I don't have any

Interesting. I don't have any memory of that one; thanks for sharing. It's interesting that this is about the earliest anyone has mentioned. If they happned in he 90s and earlier maybe they weren't mentioned? Or maybe it's a sign of a changing culture?

1 year 14 weeks ago Yeah that's a good one. I'd

Yeah that's a good one. I'd forgotten him. He certainly had a pretty decent college career.
