LOL.  You're a fuckin asshole.  You know a lot about Michigan football and shit like that and generally I don't want to label people, but I think the next time you look in the mirror you can safely say "I'm an asshole"

I don't think you care.  Good for you.

I have a dark/crude sense of humor, which is why I made my avatar what it is, and you're right, I don't care and don't apologize for that.

However, IRL I am not actually a 4'10" man who impersonates a doctor to tell people they have AIDs so that he can steal their girlfriends, and am actually far from an asshole.

The comment in question specifically talked about separating the people from the building. Of course the tragedy of the WTC were the people that died. But the buildings were just really tall office buildings. You could easily rebuild better buildings in their place if you wanted to.

The tragedy of this fire is completely different. Losing the building itself is significant because it is an 800 year old artifact that is somewhat irreplaceable. That is why people are upset over “just a building.”

It doesn’t mean this is a tragedy on the scale of 9-11, but it is still a tragedy in a totally different way.

A: this is a genuine tragedy

B: there are millions of people who literally revere this place and are mourning right now

C: it happens to be Good Friday

D: I'm not Catholic, but I have a tiny shred of human decency at least, or empathy, for those who might be. Making fun of a tragedy in public (which this forum is) as its fucking happening is not "feeling how you feel" it's being a gigantic ass hole. I can't believe people on MGoBlog need someone to get out the crayons to explain this to them.

This is horrible.  My wife and I honeymooned in Paris 10 years ago this January and we spent almost a full day at the Cathedral.  It was an amazing experience (I'm not Catholic) to simply take in the incredibly ornate and beutiful building.

Sorry I'm with jmblue on this one.  This is anything but funny.  A huge and significant piece of our history and humanity is gone.
