NFL Playoffs Open Thread #MarroneBowl

Submitted by OwenGoBlue on

First up we have the game that most sums up this silly year of football: Buffalo at Jax in the AFC Wild Card.

Later the Saints are at home as they go for a third win over the Panthers.

I say Tyrone Wheatley Will Have His Revenge on Buffalo (for giving Marrone an absurd contract clause) and Cam narrowly tops Kamara in a shootout.

Who you got?

I can't watch these halftime asshats.  Their constant laughing at each others stupid jokes too much for me.

Scramble. Anyone watching the NFL playoff games can see its obvious that
a semi mobile QB is a game changer. Bartles and Mariotta scrambling on third down are keeping them in the game when running game is stalling.

Dumb comment. This game was not exactly elected to represent all NFL games of the season or all time for "the most exciting or competitive ever." Much like the weekly Florida International vs. Idaho Valley State Tech is not the representative game for all college football. Hell, I'd hate for someone to watch Michigan vs. South Carolina and conclude that all college football sucks because Michigan clearly looked like a lost soul the entire game.

The game featured two teams whose identities are predicated on stout defenses. That’s who they are and the style of football they play. I also find it brutal to watch - much like a pitchers dual in baseball - but I don’t amplify this single game to represent all NFL games re: standards of play (although - geez - you certainly could on the defensive side of things).

This was a game between 2 of the 8 best teams in the NFL...so to speak. This wasn't comparable to Idaho St. vs. Montana at all. And it was a shitty, unfun game. Doesn't take away from how good the Jags defense is but good God man, it was a bad product and there's a helluva lot more games this and seasons past to support this notion.

Funchess should have caught that pass on 2nd to last play in endzone.  Game over victory if he does.  just had to break to the inside.  Don't understand that one.  Looks like he saw it and didn't react.
