I thought maybe you were exaggerating a bit for the purpose of poking fun at a rival, but Matt Charboneau actually piped up about how perplexing he finds the anger about this. So it's definitely a thing, and it's hilarious.

And, seriously: It's the big noon game. The biggest rivalry game of the year so far was the Texas-Oklahoma game, which was a great game and a spectacle and kicked off, as it does every year, at noon (11 am local time!). Michigan-Ohio State is locked into noon every year before the season even starts, because it is always one of the top 5 games of the year no matter how good Michigan is.

MSU fans just want something to be mad about.

One time in my early 20's I was watching the game with my father and some of his friends. I had been drinking and was a little on the excited side and said something about hating that fucking guy. Someone asked "who?" and I responded, "Oh, Brent Fur-burger or whatever his dumbass name is"

Honestly did not mean to say that.

Watched one of my fathers older friends, a deeply devout non-swearing straight edge christian man laugh so hard he nearly choked on venison jerky.

Gave me a whole new kind of respect for the man.

It’s actually hilarious. They’re convinced in some conspiracy that UM finds ways to make this game a noon game rather than the obvious logic that ESPN had first pick and took OSU-PSU for their 7:30pm game, FOX has the World Series so won’t have a marquee night game nor do they want to compete with the ESPN game, and FOX tries to avoid the 3:30pm slot to avoid competing with the CBS SEC game of the week. This game was always gonna be Big Nude

I am not a fan of the FOX coverage, its gameday hosts, nor a fan of putting the big game of the day on at noon.  Also Gus Johnson is annoying as fuck and lacks a general understanding of the game he calls.  However, for a dogfight that this game will be, it is certainly not at all in Sparty's favor to play this at noon.  And for that, I'm good with it.  Fuck Sparty.

Or Ann Arbor.  In 2004, the triple OT game where U-M rallied from 17-down in the fourth was a night game in Ann Arbor on October 30

I was a student living in a rental house at 4th and West Madison on the Old West Side (next to Wurster Park).

The next morning, my neighbors and I awoke to find every car parked on Madison (including mine) had the sidewalls of their passenger-side tires (front and back) stashed during the night.

Fucking sore loser Sparty "Devil's Night" goons.

One of my all time favorite moments.

I was at the game and 2 Sparties are in front of me doing high fives every time they score and getting really smug and noisy about being up by 17 with less than 9 minutes left.  Then, the Henne - Braylon show begins and with each passing minute, we draw closer.

Of course, we tie in regulation and win in OT.  The Sparties skulked away.  So beautiful!

I’m really hoping this plays out like the reverse of the 2010 or 2013 Michigan-MSU games where it became clear we lived or died off of big miraculous plays from Denard/Gardner and an overall better team in all phases of the game exposed our flaws. Based on Nebraska and Indiana shutting down the MSU offense and both of them having success moving the ball against the MSU defense, think that could be the case. Let’s kick their fucking teeth in
