Awesome!
EDIT: Spartan fans are big mad about this too. Which makes me extra happy.

Ha ha! Love it! GO BLUE! BEAT STATE!

Why are they mad? Wanted a night game?
October 18th, 2021 at 1:20 PM ^
Yes they wanted a night or at least late afternoon game due to being an actual established rivalry and being top 10.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:23 PM ^
Now they can leave the couches out to dry in the sun all afternoon.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:24 PM ^
I don't blame them, actually. If it were a home game for Michigan, I'd want it at night, also...
October 18th, 2021 at 1:36 PM ^
I would definitely be pissed if we were the ones hosting the game.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:42 PM ^
I thought maybe you were exaggerating a bit for the purpose of poking fun at a rival, but Matt Charboneau actually piped up about how perplexing he finds the anger about this. So it's definitely a thing, and it's hilarious.
And, seriously: It's the big noon game. The biggest rivalry game of the year so far was the Texas-Oklahoma game, which was a great game and a spectacle and kicked off, as it does every year, at noon (11 am local time!). Michigan-Ohio State is locked into noon every year before the season even starts, because it is always one of the top 5 games of the year no matter how good Michigan is.
MSU fans just want something to be mad about.
October 18th, 2021 at 4:24 PM ^
I hope we give them a reason to be much more mad after the game!
October 18th, 2021 at 2:02 PM ^
you should tell them that if it was @Michigan, it would be the game of the week and a night game.. but at places like Northwestern, Rutgers, and michigan state, its just not the national pull.
poor sad pandas.
October 18th, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
In fairness, it still wouldn't be the game of the week at Michigan because it still involves MSU and PSUvOSU is happening in the same week. Location of the game doesn't mean anything for tv audiences.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:38 PM ^
they were also expecting Gameday to make an appearance
October 18th, 2021 at 1:44 PM ^
Gameday location hasn’t even been decided yet for that week lol
October 18th, 2021 at 1:53 PM ^
Actually, most of the goons on the RCMB don't want Gameday.
October 18th, 2021 at 3:03 PM ^
They still mad about ESPN's reporting on the Izzo/Dantonio cover-up a few years ago?
October 19th, 2021 at 9:45 AM ^
Not sure why msu folks would be upset at espn. Dantonieo lost his job because he lost football games. The angry smurf is still there.
October 18th, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
They still might. Though you have PSU@OSU, UGA@UF, and OleMiss@Auburn, that week also. All potential gameday games.
October 18th, 2021 at 4:56 PM ^
Serious question: would GameDay happen at the location of another network's game? I'm too lazy to look up if it has, but it doesn't make sense to me why ESPN would promote Fox's game.
October 18th, 2021 at 11:00 PM ^
They've done it plenty of times. Whether that be FOX or the SEC's CBS game.
That said, no shot they do it when THEY have of marquee primetime game.
They'll be in Columbus and Michigan fans can hope to see them when we play PSU or OSU.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:22 PM ^
As a bonus, we can save on alcohol until later in the day, because the FOX viewing angles will simulate the drunkenness for us.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:35 PM ^
Plus win or lose, we will get to see Gush Johnson drunk on momentum
October 18th, 2021 at 2:06 PM ^
Yeah, looking forward to four hours of that guy losing his shit every time Kenneth Walker THE THIRD from THE Michigan State University finds a crease for two yards.
October 18th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
If it's any consolation, you won't have to hear about The WORLD FAMOUS Ohio State University.
October 18th, 2021 at 2:30 PM ^
I'll put money on them bringing up anOSU.
October 18th, 2021 at 3:59 PM ^
That's a 100% lock. Especially if Michigan finds a comfortable lead down the stretch. Gus will absolutely start talking about struggles against OSU.
October 18th, 2021 at 3:26 PM ^
+1 for 'gush' johnson. that's fab.
October 18th, 2021 at 4:23 PM ^
That is the perfect nickname for him.
He's like Brent Musberger 2.0. Everything is loud and exciting even when it's not.
October 18th, 2021 at 6:00 PM ^
One time in my early 20's I was watching the game with my father and some of his friends. I had been drinking and was a little on the excited side and said something about hating that fucking guy. Someone asked "who?" and I responded, "Oh, Brent Fur-burger or whatever his dumbass name is"
Honestly did not mean to say that.
Watched one of my fathers older friends, a deeply devout non-swearing straight edge christian man laugh so hard he nearly choked on venison jerky.
Gave me a whole new kind of respect for the man.
October 18th, 2021 at 6:09 PM ^
The difference though is that Musberger at least understands the game of football.
October 20th, 2021 at 12:35 AM ^
Gush Johnson and Brent Muffburger. Both nicknames are solid.
October 18th, 2021 at 2:18 PM ^
It’s actually hilarious. They’re convinced in some conspiracy that UM finds ways to make this game a noon game rather than the obvious logic that ESPN had first pick and took OSU-PSU for their 7:30pm game, FOX has the World Series so won’t have a marquee night game nor do they want to compete with the ESPN game, and FOX tries to avoid the 3:30pm slot to avoid competing with the CBS SEC game of the week. This game was always gonna be Big Nude
October 18th, 2021 at 3:43 PM ^
"This game was always gonna be Big Nude"
OMG Shirtless and Pantsless
October 18th, 2021 at 3:43 PM ^
"Disrespekt!"
-Sparty to the clock, calendar, universe
October 18th, 2021 at 6:15 PM ^
I am not a fan of the FOX coverage, its gameday hosts, nor a fan of putting the big game of the day on at noon. Also Gus Johnson is annoying as fuck and lacks a general understanding of the game he calls. However, for a dogfight that this game will be, it is certainly not at all in Sparty's favor to play this at noon. And for that, I'm good with it. Fuck Sparty.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:04 PM ^
Good. Earlier kickoffs reduce home field advantage (less tailgating time).
October 18th, 2021 at 1:10 PM ^
Also you're not getting out of East Lansing alive the night before Halloween. Even if you win.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:39 PM ^
FIFY
Also you're not getting out of East Lansing alive the night before Halloween. Especially if you win.
October 18th, 2021 at 4:55 PM ^
Being especially dead sounds scary. No thank you.
October 18th, 2021 at 3:31 PM ^
Or Ann Arbor. In 2004, the triple OT game where U-M rallied from 17-down in the fourth was a night game in Ann Arbor on October 30
I was a student living in a rental house at 4th and West Madison on the Old West Side (next to Wurster Park).
The next morning, my neighbors and I awoke to find every car parked on Madison (including mine) had the sidewalls of their passenger-side tires (front and back) stashed during the night.
Fucking sore loser Sparty "Devil's Night" goons.
October 18th, 2021 at 3:49 PM ^
It ended after dark but most certainly was not a night game.
October 18th, 2021 at 5:05 PM ^
You're correct. Because of the 3OT, the game ended like after 8pm. It was dark when Michigan turned the game around, which is why I remembered it as a "night game."
The sequel to the 1999 Final Four Cedar Village couch burning riots happened the following April.
October 18th, 2021 at 4:20 PM ^
That was a 3:30 game. It ended in darkness but was not a night game as such.
October 18th, 2021 at 5:00 PM ^
One of my all time favorite moments.
I was at the game and 2 Sparties are in front of me doing high fives every time they score and getting really smug and noisy about being up by 17 with less than 9 minutes left. Then, the Henne - Braylon show begins and with each passing minute, we draw closer.
Of course, we tie in regulation and win in OT. The Sparties skulked away. So beautiful!
October 18th, 2021 at 1:15 PM ^
Student section less full and still waking/sobering up.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:19 PM ^
No doubt....
October 18th, 2021 at 2:00 PM ^
My memory fails me, is this from Spartan Stadium, 4th quarter of a shitty game or something?
October 18th, 2021 at 1:05 PM ^
Sounds good to me, let's do it!
October 18th, 2021 at 1:06 PM ^
Hopefully my ticket guy comes through and I'm there to witness a Maize and Blue victory! LFG!!!!
October 18th, 2021 at 4:09 PM ^
I’m really hoping this plays out like the reverse of the 2010 or 2013 Michigan-MSU games where it became clear we lived or died off of big miraculous plays from Denard/Gardner and an overall better team in all phases of the game exposed our flaws. Based on Nebraska and Indiana shutting down the MSU offense and both of them having success moving the ball against the MSU defense, think that could be the case. Let’s kick their fucking teeth in
Blue pants please!!
