That makes me feel very old, especially as it means it's been 27 years since I had a summer term class with Morrison, Botterrill and Luhning. Cultural Anthro, met the ROE requirement, 13 students. Prof had just gotten back from Peru (and didn't know much about hockey anyways) kept calling Brendan Brandon. Saw 'em on campus frequently that summer, when Morrison uttered the line, still quoted by my friends, upon seeing me walking my bulldog on Packard: I know dogs are supposed to look like their owners, but jeez...

Anyhoo, cool story bro, I know. Thanks for indulging me.

My stomach is already in knots, and U-M doesn't skate for another 4+ hours. I find when they are in the tournament, the NCAA hockey "playoffs" are the most wonderful and most terrible event in sports. I wish I could enjoy it more and be a little less terrified.

Since Quinnipiac apparently plays the system that most/all true hockey fans detest (think New Jersey Devils in the 90s when they beat the high-flying Red Wings), this one is going to be extra difficult to swallow. Hopefully we score first...and second...and last.

Go Blue!

Not sure what to think of this one. Could easily see Minnesota rolling. Could also envision BU crushing their dreams in a close game / OT game. Only thing I don’t think will happen is a 2+ goal BU win

Number 1 offense vs number 1 defense. Quiny has only given up 3 goals in one game this year.

I’m a firm believer in defense wins Championships, however I’m thinking Michigan in a 2-1 nail biter.

Quick question for the board. I wasn’t lucky enough to watch the Big Ten Championship game, Michigan beat Minnesota, was it a convincing win, did Michigan control the game? How about during the season, how did Michigan fair against the Gophers. Life is busy didn’t catch to many hockey games.

Very evenly matched teams - I tend to think that the bigger ice actually helped us, the smaller, faster-skating team that could better use the bigger sheet.  It will be interesting to see if we can do it back on a non-olympic sheet.  Should be an entertaining, coin-flip of a game if we make it.  It should have a Stanley Cup, Game 7, sort of feel.

MN scored first and was still up 1-0 at the end of the 1st. Was wondering if it was going to be one of those games. But Rutger McGroarty got a couple goals at 3:12 & 3:46 of the 2nd. MN responded mid-2nd, and it was 2-2 after two. MN scored early in the 3rd (1:57), we responded at 5:29. Duke got the winner @ 11:46, and we held on.

It was amaizing discipline, took only two penalties, one in the 1st, one in the 2nd, killed them off.

I'm at the game (just in front of the faceoff dot to the right of the Minnesota goalie on the glass).

Kind of a shame they sell both games for one ticket. For a sold out game, this arena is half empty.

By the way my greatest Michigan hockey memory, I was 17 visiting my sister at Michigan, I was hanging out with her boyfriend (now my brother in law) watching the game in his dorm (west quad) after they won the title he ran out of the room with everyone, my sister told me not to leave his side, so I followed and ended up running through buildings, Law Library I believe, jumping for joy and having the time of my life!!
