Joe Moore Award Muppets?!
December 17th, 2022 at 4:13 PM ^
I think of all the things that recent success has been attributed to, the offensive line is by far the most important. Getting one yard when needed and (at least) 4 regularly in the ground game has been a difference maker. Protecting the qb is icing on the cake. Would like to be a continued destination for offensive line recruits.
December 17th, 2022 at 4:27 PM ^
Moose, if you - or your son, was a talented OL prospect - is there any reason why you wouldn’t want Michigan to consider you for a scholly?
December 17th, 2022 at 4:43 PM ^
No. But for the life of me I can't figure out recruiting and why kids go where they do.
And that was before NIL.
December 17th, 2022 at 6:24 PM ^
"NIL" is just the clamactic legalization for the money/promise-circuses that were happening pre-NIL, in escalation.
Despite NIL being just as nebulous, confusing, and opaque, something about 3-5 letter acronyms seem to set the human mind at ease, despite zero substantiating evidence—e.g. where in the constitution do they mention the CIA? CDC? They're effective, we call them SSRI's! (and so forth)
December 17th, 2022 at 6:43 PM ^
There’s a reason that the Clemsons, Alabamas, and OSUs have come back to the pack post NIL, it’s no longer the gives and gives-nots. I mean UM may be miles behind in NIL but watching Saban beg to be included in the CFP is worth all the confusion.
December 17th, 2022 at 6:14 PM ^
+100 to you.
I was just logging in to post a similar thought. Michigan's play in the trenches on both sides of the ball has been the difference. OSU has had all the 5-star and NFL skill talent, but Michigan has been decisively better on the OL and DL the last two years.
#2 for me would be getting our QB healthy through the season and especially to the Game and at least our QB matching the play of CJ Stroud.

For the best offensive line. Definitely deserved. Beat out Georgia as the other finalist. Hope that is an omen of things to come.

Easy brother, I love me some UM but they’ve got our line talent AND 5 star skill players.
December 17th, 2022 at 8:44 PM ^
Amen!

Get a 5* mobile QB, a couple of Corums, a couple of DPJs, all set!

2 DPJ - 1 MOM = HAIL
December 17th, 2022 at 4:18 PM ^
Well deserved and so happy they were rewarded for a great year.
December 17th, 2022 at 6:46 PM ^
Absolutely. Well deserved. Look out TCU, Moore Comin’ and he’s hungering for pancakes.
December 17th, 2022 at 4:19 PM ^
Insane how good they've been with maybe 2 2nd round picks, day 2 at the very least, starting. They're not a bunch of future 1st rounders, but just work so well together.
December 17th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
NJ - I think they are such a great example of teamwork. Communication, adjustment, scheme, and execution. It’s been great to watch them play, cheer for them, and appreciate their accomplishments.
Congratulations to everyone in the position group, the TE’s, RB’s, WR’s, and QB’s. Oh, and the coaching staff too. Great attitude and a bit of nasty.
Go Blue!

Olu should go in the first round

For those that know football, the Joe Moore Award is the premier postseason recognition trophy. We are witnessing history here. It's impossible to overstate the significance of this achievement. In my best Gus Johnson voice: WOW!

She. Rrone. Moore.
The SHMOORE!!!
December 17th, 2022 at 4:23 PM ^
Well earned. Let’s make this a tradition!

If they win any more, they will need to expand the S&C room.
December 17th, 2022 at 6:32 PM ^
21, I think Warde Manuel could find the funds to expand the S&C facilities.
December 17th, 2022 at 6:53 PM ^
Warde Manuel can’t find his prodigious ass with his own hands.

Without this award, there is no talk of Corum for Heisman. No back-to-back everything. This is one of the most important awards.
It's also the greatest trophy in sports.
December 17th, 2022 at 5:31 PM ^
The Stanley Cup feels more prestigious but I won't argue with you.
December 17th, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
*Greatest as in coolest looking trophy in sports.
December 17th, 2022 at 4:52 PM ^
Sherrone Moore should be the coach in waiting for this program. Lock him up, lock him up, lock him up (with a big contract)!!!
December 17th, 2022 at 5:56 PM ^
Think I would prefer Minter, but both are superb
December 18th, 2022 at 8:04 AM ^
I'm all for congratulating Coach Moore but this is going way too far. Lots of assistant coaches have short term success. You can't lock up the head coaching spot at Michigan over this. You need a broader sample size, preferably at multiple locations and show success with very different pieces to play with. Some people last year wanted to lock up Gattis and look at how he turned out at Miami.
December 18th, 2022 at 6:19 PM ^
Gattis’ offense always felt a little clunky.
December 17th, 2022 at 4:53 PM ^
Sherrone is the best OL coach in the country bar none. Pay that man however much he wants at this point.
December 17th, 2022 at 4:55 PM ^
Way to go Coach Sherrone and the big men up front! Go Blue!
December 17th, 2022 at 5:00 PM ^
Make Sherron Moore the highest paid assistant in the country
December 17th, 2022 at 5:01 PM ^
I've lived in Wisconsin for the last 22 years. Having heard so much about the Badgers offensive linemen during that time, I have to say it is really satisfying to see Michigan win this award the past two seasons. I remember the days when it was Michigan who was turning out All-Americans in the trenches every year. That was the foundation that Bo and Jerry Hanlon built the program on.
December 17th, 2022 at 5:11 PM ^
People are masters of rationalization; I rationalize that the silver lining of Corum's injury is that Edwards' performance in OSU/Purdue iced the Joe Moore award for Michigan.
