I only do not want to try out the Moore experience unless Underwood doesn’t come. That said, I think Moore is the way to go based on the trajectory of BU’s recruitment

My guess is there are lots of teams in touch with him. Talent? Sure. Leader, hard worker, shining example to the team and winner? Unproven.

I know he's a freshman. But as a five star talent, I don't know how how predictive that is regarding the intangibles. Obviously Michigan saw something they liked, so they're in touch. We don't know how reciprocal the interest is, and I haven't yet seen that Michigan offered him.

If they have, I apologize for missing that.

However, if I was Iowa I'd be hot on his trail.

I think he's a great talent.  Saying that, I'd be very careful bringing him onboard.  If he's matured and realized he made a mistake chasing the money and immediate playing time, then he could be a good fit.  If he's serious about being developed, he will be willing to sit and learn for a year or two behind JJ or a grad transfer.  What concerns me about him is that he will come on board and then leave once he doesn't get immediate playing time.  It may also change the mind of Jayden Davis, who seems to be a really good fit for what Michigan does.  I'd love to see JJ come back in 2024, Moore in 2025-26 seasons, Davis in 2027-28 seasons and Underwood in 28-30.  Davis and Underwood compete in 2028.  Pipe dream of course.

This may be "way out there" - but, I trust this staff to communicate to potential players what Michigan's program and culture are about, as well as how certain things - like NIL - are handled.

If Moore's a good cultural fit - and can contribute to the team, in the environment that's been established and nurtured in Schembechler Hall - it's fantastic.   If it's not, well - I'm sure the staff will get a feel for that much more closely than we will.

Just hoping for the right things to happen.

Do not want. Seems like a mercenary type and looked completely checked out for UCLA against Cal. Seems immature.

Call me crazy but I think Davis will be better than Moore. Davis has the same maturity I hear in JJ interviews and is a team guy.

A certain idiot calling Davis Cade 2.0 forgot Day recruited Davis since eighth grade and the OSU recruiting sites defined him as a make or break recruitment for OSU.

Description of Davis by OSU: “On the field Jadyn can do it all. He’s only got one season under his belt in his prep career, but there’s more than enough reasons to see why he’s ranked where he is. Whether it’s his arm and ability to make all of the throws or just his overall knowledge of the game this early on, Davis is a coaching staff’s dream scenario. Off the field and probably even more importantly, Davis is mature beyond his years. We’ve seen Ohio State really hang their hat on finding elite players, but also elite people, and Davis fits every narrative that entails. Ryan Day and crew are sold on that dynamic already. You can’t ask for more from the most important position on the field.”

Rivals stated: “Davis loves to sit in the pocket and dissect defenses with a strong and accurate arm. He’s comfortable not only making all the throws but they look like laser shots every time he drops back and throws it. What makes Davis extra special is that he also can throw well on the run whether to his right or left and the ball placement is still perfect.”

I’ll take my chances on a team leader with pinpoint accuracy.

EDIT: Found this too.

The summer before his sophomore year Davis finished fifth at Rivals five star challenge despite being two years younger than most of the participants. 4th was Cade Klubnik. 2nd was Dante Moore.

Davis has fallen off because he doesn't do well in camps and doesn't have elite arm strength, but I can give you a list of guys that did well in camps and had "elite arms" but didn't develop. For all intents and purposes, I think work ethic, character, leadership, and accuracy are greater indications of what a player will do. Andy Dalton in college didn't have tremendous arm strength but was money for TCU due to touch and accuracy and Kellen Moore lacked elite arm strength when he was QB for Boise State but had elite accuracy and could throw a ball with pinpoint precision. Matt Ryan didn't have an elite arm but had impeccable accuracy. Andrew Luck didn't have a rifle arm compared to say Stafford or Mahomes but delivered with pinpoint accuracy. Didn't Tua get knocked for not having "elite arm strength"? I'm more concerned about whether a QB can deliver while under pressure and deliver with accuracy, which Davis is said to be able to do.

The floor is said to be Devin Gardner and Devin was a dang good QB and probably would have been a legend if not for the worst offensive line play in Michigan football history that left him with virtually everything in his body broken.

Id rather  have JJ come back, let Jaydn bake in the oven behind the big dog for a year, then give Jaydn the keys ;)

but yeah, he he wants to come , you get Dante. Buckets of potential, raw as a hot dog.

UCLA's Dante Moore reportedly intends to enter transfer portal after bumpy season | West Observer

"Late Saturday night, as he met with reporters at the Rose Bowl, Moore acknowledged the burden he felt during a season in which his mother battled cancer before declaring herself free of the disease this week on social media. “There’s just a lot of things I’ve been going through, you know, mentally and things like that,” Moore said. “Just far from home and doing these type of things can be pretty tough at times.”

He's homesick. What is best for him is not more $$$, but to be home and develop under Michigan's coaches.

If Harbaugh and the staff want him, and he wants to come here, then welcome to the young man.  I've worked with high school kids for 38 years, and the amount of personal growth they can have in a year is astounding.  All of the negative stuff I'm reading about him could be in the past, or it could be a product of the environment he was in.  Everything I've heard about Chip Kelly is that he's weird like Harbaugh without his ability to connect with players.

Given the last three years, when it comes to player evaluation I'm just going to shut up and sit over here.

If JJ leaves I’m hoping that Alex Orji can step up and be his replacement. He has the athletic improvisation skills of JJ and Milroe but the question is does he have the traditional quarterbacking skills. Between the Davis and Moore, I‘d be happy to have both but would favor someone who bought into our culture right from the start. We have achieved the current level of success due more to our quality of our culture than the quantity of our recruiting stars.

I like taking him. He needs to be properly coached, but he has elite talent. There is a reason he was a five star. In an ideal world, JJ comes back for one more year and these younger guys can continue to develop, but if not, you throw a bunch of talent at the proverbial wall and see what sticks.

He loved Michigan by all accounts. He made choices as an 18 year old kid. He’s allowed to grow up and learn. I’m sure everyone here has made the best decisions in life. If he’s good with competing then come here. Even if JJ is back.

Let’s spice it up, he commits then underwood commits then you have Davis, Moore and underwood battle it out. we love comp everywhere else why not at qb. That would be wild (and also extremely unlikely).

Give a kid a chance to prove you wrong. I hope he makes a decision that’s best for him.

How about we as fans hope that Dante comes to UM whether JJ comes back or not? Worse case scenario you have Dante, Orji, Davis and Denegal battling for the starting role. They might even have special packages for different ones much like they did with JJ when Cade was here. Someone out of that roster would step up. I don’t know why it has to be Dante sucks or Dante is chasing the bag or Davis is Cade 2.0 or Orji isn’t a quarterback? Why can’t we support all of these guys until it’s decided none of them are getting the job done and then we can panic. Depending on who comes back on the oline, Michigan will need to hit the portal there again so these four, or JJ, aren’t running for their lives

My question and this isn't necessarily aimed at Dante but at what point does an oozing talented kid who had a rough year or two decide I have to try and cash in now on all the money I can because my future earnings potential is low. These guys all have egos and probably all think they are league bound even after a rocky season but at some point these kids who are collecting bags of cash based off potential without ever having college success have to understand there is only so many more stops before that dries up and goes away. It seems to me someone that took that option time one would likely be aware of this and be thinking about it time 2. Maybe I am over thinking this but form a pure money stand point and this becoming a business especially for top of the line QB's they have to be considering that angle no?

Looked horrific when I saw him, and the stats bear that out, but apparently there are some good reasons for that.

Whatever the situation, I think it's doubtful he could fill JJ's shoes. Will need at least a year in the system.
