I hope this team comes into this game with fire under their ass.

This squad better than forget that MSU, led by their horseshit and creep football coach, jumped 2 of our players and then tried to make themselves a victim.

Fuck that program. Let’s drop a 50 piece on them in that JV stadium of theirs.

As a football fan I appreciate having games on to watch in prime time.

As a Michigan fan I do not like having Michigan games in prime time.

It's not so bad in September, when the weather is decent and there are other things to do.  But once you hit mid-October and into November, the wait for kickoff is interminable.

A night game in East Lansing after last year's game is still a completely bone headed decision that risks the safety of fans. On the field, either the MSU players will be more tame without Tucker or they'll be even worse since they have nothing to lose

Dantonio is going to be patrolling the sideline for MSU. It may not be “his team,” but he knows how to crawl into players heads and get them to find an extra gear against Michigan. Both in terms of how they play as well as just their overall attitude.

I do not expect to see a tame, milquetoast MSU team that night. I’m not saying they’ll all of a sudden be good, but I do think they will be out for blood, and Dantonio will not be discouraging any of them from trying to take out someone’s legs.

If the game is already in hand, then yeah I don’t mind rubbing salt in the wound where they can, when they can. But the cynic in me hopes they don’t try anything like that when the game is still close.

It’s a rivalry game, at night, on the road, against a team with nothing to lose. Crazy shit happens. Don’t give them anything that they can use to build momentum or use as a rallying cry for the rest of the game. Dantonio feeds on that shit like a black hole feeds on…..everything.

Slow, methodical, painful execution, and then if you’re up 35-3 at some point, then yeah, go deep and go for two just because you can.

NBC is fucking clueless.  Did they not see what happened in broad daylight at our place last year?  Now we're playing at night at their place?!  And they're even more shitty and desperate this year than last.  At what point does common sense come into play?  Or is there just too much damn money involved?

If you look at the available B1G games that weekend - and, with Fox broadcasting PSU at Ohio State, nothing else is very attractive.   The other B1G games that day - and their kickoff times:

  • Rutgers (NR) at Indiana (NR) - noon
  • Wisconsin (NR) at Illinois (NR) – 3:30 pm
  • Minnesota (NR) at Iowa (NR) – 3:30 pm
  • Northwestern (NR) at Nebraska (NR) – 3:30 pm
  • Michigan (2) at Michigan State (NR) - 7:30 pm

If you're NBC - and, money is involved - what would you select?

ND has a bye week - so, they couldn't convince them to modify their schedule to a home night game if they wanted.

I haven't looked at every B1G team's schedule, but does Michigan have the most night games?  They have already played 2, and MSU's was already known to be at night, so that is 3.  I thought I read on here that they are thinking of playing the Purdue game at night too?

Historian - I think the Purdue game "could" change - however, it seems unlikely.

That first weekend in November is Parents / Family weekend - as it was two years ago.  Two years ago, it was a night game against Indiana.  This year - it will be a night game against Purdue.   Schedules for "other activities" in Ann Arbor have been modified to reflect the start time.

Nothing is cast in stone - but, I'd bet it's a "90+%" change of the Purdue v Michigan game to be at night.

That leaves Purdue and Maryland left and I hope these are either noon or 3:30 PM kick off times.

It's not the ending of night games being very late, but I can't fall asleep for up to 3 hrs hours after the game ends. I just get too wound up watching Michigan football.

Maryland cannot be a night game unless the new TV contracts allow for it.  That first weekend in November was/is the cutoff for being able to make the teams have a night game without their permission.  It's just too damn cold outside at night at that time of year.  This has to be part of the reason that PSU plays MSU in the dome at Ford Field at night at the end of the year.

Just win and get everyone out healthy. Don’t engage in stupid “extra-curriculars” after the play is over. They may and probably will try and goad you into doing something stupid.

Just get back to the huddle, let the scoreboard do the talking, get out healthy and go home.

People talk about how talented and deep this Michigan roster is. But they also talk about how disciplined they are. I'd be shocked if there were an shenanigans from the Michigan side, even if they're pushed. For Staee, this game is their season. For Michigan, it's a small accomplishment on the way to larger accomplishments. I can't see them losing sight of the big goals and losing their cool.

I hope you're right, and I have to imagine Harbaugh and Co. will be drilling that into the team's collective head for the entire week leading up to the game. There are far bigger goals for this season than beating MSU. Don't be the guy who puts those goals in jeopardy by saying something stupid, shoving them back, throwing a punch, whatever.

Whatever MSU tries to goad you into, whatever they say, just get back to the huddle, let the ref throw the flag and let the scoreboard do the talking for you.

I absolutely hate this.  Someone is going to get hurt outside of the whistles, I guarantee that.  I do not trust that trash program.  Giving them and their brainless fans all day to get wound up and drunk is not helpful.  If we absolutely must play this game (and I would rather see them out of the conference entirely at this point), it should be at like 8am.
