Simply put, to hell with NBC and the B1G for putting these kind of circus acts together for the purposes of squeezing more money out of fan bases.  Given last year’s hideous behavior on the part of Sparty, why else would you schedule a rematch one year later at night?  Bread and Circuses, let’s get some NASCAR level wrecks lined up to pull a few more eyeballs. Shameful.

I like night games for watching from home since I can still have a productive day before settling down to watch football. This is one game, however, that I don’t want at night. Hope the team can get out of there drama and injury free, plus a nice margin of victory.

I'll be in Hawaii for that one. 1:30 kickoff there. I remember being there for the MSU/Michigan game when it was a 12:00 kickoff. Nothing like getting up at 6 AM to watch a football game.

6AM football? A little early perhaps, but that sound like heaven, actually.
Try  forcing yourself to cut your Saturday night early to try to get a couple of hours of sleep for a 1 or 2 AM start time as those of us in Asia do, especially if you want to stay up and see one of the night games, which means staying up till past noon on Sunday.

And hey, you're living in paradise, so unlikely to get much sympathy from folks living in the midwest.

Go Blue, any time of day or night.

Nice NBC.  Maybe you can get 4 more people I'd never recognize for your pre-game and halftime panels.

Maria Taylor

Joshua Perry

Michael Robinson

Matt Cassel

I sorta kinda remember who Matt Cassel is.  Step your game up.

IIRC our own Nicole Auerbach also moonlights for NBC college football too now.

That said, I generally hate night games on the road.  I'm not worried about this trash team vs our very good team, but there's always that 1% devil on my shoulder...

Having said that, I will not be able to watch this game since I will be flying home from Canadia from a visit to my brother.  The last time I did that on a football weekend was also a night game vs MSU which was the 2017 shit show, whose score I found out immediately after deplaning. To make matters worse, the other football game that happened that week while I was away was vs Indiana... who we also play this Saturday when I'm also away.

So mods: if things do so south in two weeks, you have my blessing to permanently ether me to Bolivia for poking the football gods and not learning my lesson.

Yeah I recall him.  But I couldn't pick him out of a line-up.  Out of the four people they had standing at a desk as I guess "experts" I could only identify Maria Taylor.  I've got no prob with Blackledge as an analyst - better than most.  But overall I would say the NBC B1G Saturday Night was not ready for Prime Time.  My whole fucking point.  Although they did manage to out the one Michigan player who didn't get in the game - by name.  Which I thought was hilarious.

I mentioned this in the coaching snowflake thread, but I think it's worth bringing it up again because I didn't get an answer.

Did they use a clip / live shot of Minnesota fans going crazy while some idiot was beating on an NBC Big Saturday Night bass drum?  And, if so, could you tell it was recorded during the national anthem?  Two days later and I'm still angry.  I don't blame the students, but whatever producer set up the timing on that needs a stern talking-to.  There is no way that NBC should not have known when the anthem would be played -- these things are scripted.

IMO, Blackledge is a mediocre color guy at best. It seems like he barely knows the players (e.g., he called Josaiah Stewart an elite pass rusher because he had just made a play), and he never breaks down any schemes (just "wow, look at that great play" filler).

Anyway, I agree that NBC's product is pretty crappy. It seems like they took the B/C-tier from ESPN and paid them like A-tier.

Joshua Perry might have some interesting perspectives - but, he's just as "anti-Michigan" as Urban Meyer.   I think Perry can bring up good points on other teams / games - but, has great difficulty saying anything complimentary about Michigan, and - when it comes to The Game (and that week) forget about it.

For The Game - Perry makes Desmond Howard look balanced and objective.
