Stapleton will continue to show his undying love for his university and football team by making sure the NCAA throws the book at Harbaugh.  Because he wanted another coach, a coach who in hindsight maybe isn't all that good.

Which totally means that he should screw the current successful coach, and also the football program, at every possible opportunity, and especially right now in the middle of their most recent successful season.  And in spite of this, he is good ol' buddies with Warde.  You cannot make up this shit.

Cheating happens when you entice 5 stars to join your school with bags of cash. Typically if youve had top 3 classes for 15+ years youve got good at cheating. Thats just plain facts. To punish cheeseburger purchases on signing day is probably the most NCAA thing ive ever seen. If you think the shinning example of national cheaters day is just a coincidence you are not paying attention.

i need to give it a read when I have more time, but a quick review leaves me wondering what the allegations actually are.  Angelique says they received an NoA "regarding the NCAA investigation into 4 Level II's and a Level I...", but doesn't seem to specify what allegations are actually contained in the notice.

perhaps I just need to read more closely.

They reported 22 recruiting violations from Day's first season that amounted to 2 months of no recruiting for a few positions coaches.

They then reported an analyst doing on field coaching or extended practice times a few years later and imposed 30 minute reductions in team activities for like a month.

That's what this all is, nothing. But Harbaugh "lying" or "misleading" investigators is what has turned this into a problem.

And Harbaugh will never admit to lying, and I believe he didn’t. He should probably throw them a bone and cop to misleading tho. After all, there is no shame in that, when the charges and the rules themselves are so ridiculous. There should be a rule change that allows for 100 cheeseburgers per season. No, make that 1 million.

Michigan should not be putting up with this. Especially in the current climate where players are just being bought off other teams. Say sure whatever to the Level II's and get lost with the Level I

Edit: Seems like we're at least trying to go down that route

...while Michigan has said it agreed to the Level II violations that also included texting a recruit outside the allowable time period, having analysts handling on-field coaching and coaches watching players work out via Zoom, Harbaugh has never agreed to the Level I  the NCAA’s most severe  allegation of lying to investigators.

Is it confirmed Dudek is the baby who sent all this in? Because that's quite the array of Level II violations. Sounds like someone was extra salty they got fired and just dumped everything they could think of that could possibly be a violation. What a loser

Michigan saying f you to the ncaa has always seemed a more realistic option than doing it to the Big 10. The Big 10 and most other conferences are far more powerful/relevant than the ncaa. They're nearly irrelevant when it comes to football. Their only major trump card in terms of revenue sports is running the basketball tournaments, and that seems mostly an administrative role. I think the ncaa's request to go to tiered revenue sharing is a desperate attempt to maintain any relevance. IF Harbaugh decides to stay at Michigan, I would hope that part of his decision making is a commitment to blast the ncaa into bolivia. Not sure exactly how that would look, but I would be proud if he and the University of Michigan did everything in their power to put the ncaa out of its misery. In the process, it's not unrealistic to think that there might be collateral damage to the Big 10 and other conferences, that mgiht be welcome.

NCAA Summary:

You drove 26 mph three head coaches ago in a 25 mph zone.

You decided to drive 25.5 mph in a 25 mph zone again a decade later (although we really can't prove it).

We have no choice but to put you in prison for 15 years.  You might be eligible for parole in 12 with complete conformance.

Dear the NCAA,

In this time of uncertainty in our country, when simple acts have the potential to set off a chain reaction that could potentially end all of life, I have to ask you dear the NCAA,

Why will you not spit the balls out of your mouth? Why do you ingest a seemingly endless supply of diseases cocks?

Why do you suck in all the worst ways

I hate you the NCAA

That is all

Nothing new in this article specific to how the NCAA deems that Harbaugh "lied or misled" investigators.

Unless they have interview notes or recordings of Harbaugh saying "I did not do X" I don't see how this is more than a he said/he said situation. Tressel got boned because the NCAA found emails of him talking to other people about tattoo-gate when he was telling the NCAA he didn't know anything the whole time.

For all those complaining about the paywalled article, don't worry I'm sure Pete Thamel will have a full article up soon spining it to make Harbaugh look like history's greatest monster.
