MBB With A Sweet Comeback Win Over Maryland POSBANG

Submitted by San Diego Mick on

Down 14 late in the first half and made a little run to cut it to 10 before the half and then just went off in the 2nd half although the game remained tense the whole way, Go Blue!!!

have your starting PG shooting 50% from the FT line.  I've been saying it was going to cost us a crucial game(s) this year....I thought tonight was going to be one of those nights ---- until Livers and MAAR saved the day.

This win makes up for the Purdue loss...I feel we stole one tonight and had one stolen last week.  These types of games do indeed even out over time.

Go Blue!!!!

Is Beilein slyly mocking Izzo here?  "I'm not one of those coaches who is going to blame our players in that first half, Maryland was good.  Let's give them a lot of credit."

the end of a game.  Thank you Livers and MAAR.  Great second half except for the FT's.  Simpson probably needs to sit in foul situations until he gets better at FT's.  Big win after Sparty win.  Maryland made a lot of shots the last few minutes, but Michigan prevailed.  Bang, bang.

You could definitely sense tonight JB wasn't happy with his PG play, especially with the backups in Simmons/Brooks tonight. I've been calling it for a while, but first time I recall seeing Poole go in along with Matthews & Maar. I am hopeful to see more of this, especially late in games. I love the lineup of Maar/Poole/Matthews/Livers/Mo in stretches. I think the bench should be shrunk from 9 to 8 for rest of season when it allows (no fouls or injury). I like D-Rob, Teske, and Poole off the bench. All solid contributors, who can add a scoring punch. Thoughts from others?

The only knock on Poole seems to be he has some mental lapses on defense but more playing time will help eliminate those. I would also have Brooks play about 5-6 minutes a game just to keep him fresh throughout the season. I think he will be a good player eventually.

I had to record it and just finished watching.  What an inbounds pass!!!  Simpson needs to eat that performance and practice shooting some free throws...  But that was a good gut-check game after MSU.  Keep it rolling, boys!!
