LB Coach Chris Partridge Fired
November 17th, 2023 at 12:05 PM ^
From some random dude on the internet, so it doesn’t matter, but Isaiah has really looked bad on this reporting with his sources he claims to have. Not even a sniff of this happening? Come on
November 17th, 2023 at 12:21 PM ^
A lot of what Isaiah Hole was claiming or suggesting struck me as too good to be true. It just seemed a little too convenient that Michigan would have something that would turn all of this around. I think he figured the sign-trading evidence (if there even is any) before the 2022 Big Ten Championship game would get more traction than it did. No one cares about that now and no one will care about that in the future.
As for the bad PR, I don't think that we can assume that OSU is behind it, at least not without more information. Hole says that Michigan believes OSU is behind it, but without more, it's just belief. Regardless, Stalions made that bad PR possible when he did what he did. Michigan gave its rivals an in, and now Michigan is going to pay the price for it.

Good thing the Big Ten reserved the right to add more punishment if additional coaches were involved, only took less than a fucking day for that clause to come into effect
November 17th, 2023 at 11:30 AM ^
You assume Michigan and thus the Big Ten knew about this during these negotiations...soooo what concessions exactly did Michigan get? Zip?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
I'd assume that B1G agreed to end/close the investigation when Michigan agreed to fire those who held traceable responsibility. Hopefully it was only Partridge and everyone can all move on.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:47 AM ^
If there are more coaches that are in the same boat as Partridge (Which we can only speculate on at this point) and they didn't do it all at once then Michigan is acting irrationally. Firing one now, and another later just extends the media coverage. Who knows at this point, but that would not be an ideal way to handle it.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
Exactly. Can’t let this story continue to drag on. Do what you’re gonna do and be done with it.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:25 PM ^
If they had good (bad) info on more coaches, they’d be gone today as well. There’s no way they’re letting someone stay on staff with evidence against them.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:33 PM ^
If this is an ongoing investigation then you make those firing decisions as evidence of violations come to light...you don't wait and try to do a batch firing after the investigation is complete. That would leave the program seriously vulnerable of (even more) embarrassing leaks.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:52 AM ^
Seems like the slow drip will continue right on through the NCAA investigation.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:43 AM ^
It doesn't make sense that Connor would resign then. Why wouldn't he make them fire him and then go for wrongful termination if higher ups knew what he was doing.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:50 AM ^
Many M boosters will be glad to give an inventive and hard working Stalions a job. That guy gets stuff done. And in the private sector there is no Big Ten Commissioner on a power trip. But not if he forces M to fire him and then sues M....
November 17th, 2023 at 11:59 AM ^
No, but there are local, state, and Federal laws and agencies that enforce them. Stallions is toxic. I wouldn't want that idiot near my organization.
November 17th, 2023 at 2:18 PM ^
Many would not want Stalions. But many others would want a guy like him. He is going to get results.
Will he cut some corners? Maybe. And for many the results are what counts.
And I think you are overestimating federal, state, and local law enforcement on making sure businesses trace square corners. They do not. The VAST majority of small and medium-sized businesses are in violation of many laws (especially tax laws). There are not close to sufficient enforcement/prosecutorial resources to catch even 5% of it.
Corner cutter types like Stalions are WAY less likely to be caught in the private sector/business world, than within the world of CFB (and even in the CFB world it is not very likely).
I am not saying that is a good thing. But I am saying that is the truth.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
Who, Partridge? He's not current coach. Checkmate, B1G!
November 17th, 2023 at 11:29 AM ^
Congratulations on emerging victorious from the first-to-post Thunderdome!
November 17th, 2023 at 11:31 AM ^
What better way to get through a pointless meeting than doomscrolling Twitter?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:29 AM ^
One down, one to go!
November 17th, 2023 at 1:29 PM ^
Bye, Felicia.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:32 AM ^
Who is the other?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
Thats gonna suck
November 17th, 2023 at 11:38 AM ^
Yep!!
November 17th, 2023 at 11:33 AM ^
What does this comment mean?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
Presumably that another staffer is getting axed. Probably today
November 17th, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
Probably Jay or Clink??
November 17th, 2023 at 12:07 PM ^
If that was true, they would have announced their firings at the same time. One hit of bad press in one news cycle instead of dragging it out.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:29 AM ^
This is odd because Partridge wasn't here in 2021 or 2022.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:32 AM ^
Was just jumping in to say the same thing. So what, did he find out about CS at the start of the season?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
I'm wondering if in the search through electronic communications, they found something unrelated to Stalions?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
I pray that is not the case. But who knows at this point.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:02 PM ^
This seems like a real possibility to me.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:42 AM ^
Possible he found out and was okay with it.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:29 AM ^
Minter is a good coach and has been around the team. I'm happy for that.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:11 PM ^
I've seen conflicting reports. Some say Jesse is now coaching LBs. Others say his dad, who is an analyst for Michigan, will now coach LBs.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:29 AM ^
Soooooo, is the NCAA investigating the whole SEC now???
November 17th, 2023 at 11:30 AM ^
As I said yesterday there is a lot more.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:32 AM ^
Cool, say what you have.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:34 AM ^
typical internet sleuth. "knows" all yet never says anything except, "told ya", when any piece of news drops.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:33 AM ^
Fuck off Dude. You were throwing shit out there about Harbaugh and about Carr's take on Harbaugh. So, don't pretend like you are on high moral ground. You are not.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
Which is 100% truth.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:33 AM ^
Then actually *provide* information, not just troll-like comments.
That is why you are being downvoted.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:37 AM ^
Saying "there is more information" is so broad and vague as to be worthless. Of course there is more information, there always is. It's like saying time will continue to move forward.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:44 AM ^
Patridge and Jay are implicated in the funding with the spreadsheet. They have shielded Jim from all this. The B1G dropped the hammer on all this yesterday and the BOR backed right off.
As I said yesterday Jim is done at Michigan and it’s not his choice. He lost control of the program.
My quote from years ago is relevant because this is is Jim Harbaugh. We all have to deal with it. He is responsible for this program and his hiring practices have been atrocious.
There will be more than this. We’ve been taken for a ride
November 17th, 2023 at 11:49 AM ^
If that were true, how does that jive with CS not filing expense reports? Are you saying there's some slush fund or what?
November 17th, 2023 at 11:49 AM ^
How on earth would that not have leaked from the very beginning? The spreadsheet has been there since day one.
November 17th, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
Also a great question. You would think that the media in it's crazy Michigan hating frenzy would have jumped on this. Especially if it is Jay?
