While I tend to take the sort of insider information that sounds like mind reading with a grain of salt, the timing of this report is interesting since it seems to coincide with the law firm news as well as the Michigan House letter.

It used to be so good, but around maybe 2015 it hit a critical mass of people and just became shit slinging. I've seen people trying to pass off that we gave signs to USC against Tenn as some proven thing instead of near completely baseless speculation.

While this would be a nice development, I don’t think he’s just going to all of a sudden have a change of heart. It shouldn’t have gotten this far. I’d assume there’s someone prominent behind him telling him what to do for whatever incentives or purposes.

This whole situation is getting out of control. It reminds me of some of those old time Western movies. There is a mob with a couple loud mouths shouting, "we dont need a trial, we don't need any investigation!!! We want Justice! String 'em up!"
Maybe someone could send Big Tony a message --- maybe get a copy of the old movie, The Ox Bow Incident -- watch it & get back to us. Or maybe read the book by Van Tilburg

Getting out of control? It was out of control 2 weeks ago. The whole thing is dumb and has kinda ruined some of this season for me. I hate that I’m on pins and needles waiting to see if they try and screw up our season instead of reading about matchups and actual football stuff.

Not sure I like Henschke saying this. For someone like Petitti who is apparently prone to making decisions based on what others think, he may just double down on a bad decision because he's afraid of looking "weak".

I get a sense Petitti doesn't want to punish Harbaugh during the season if he doesn't have to so any roadblocks he can point to as justification for delaying this process he'd absolutely take.

Before we start collectively Tuckering off to this news, let's keep in mind the very real possiblity that this is at best a half-truth strategically leaked right now, to perhaps create the perception in the B1G's braintrust (I use that term loosely) that the tide of public opinion is turning against any kind of real punishment for Harbaugh.
I'm not saying this this IS the case, but if we are to take Thamel's tweets with a grain of salt (and we should), we should also maintain some level of skepticism when they're are pro-M tweets. But even if this is so, it's at least a sign that we're waging a PR counter-offensive, which is itself good news.
