Indy Pete - Go Blue

I was very pumped when Vastard the bastard decided to return - knowing what an intelligent and talented player he is.  However, I could not help but think that those who stay will be doctors.  Well, the old mantra that those who still will be champions has been resurrected by Vastardis, Hutchinson, Hawkins, Haskins, Steuber, Ross, and many other dedicated upper class-men who put in the work and reaped the rewards!

I thought they were quite beautiful floating down on OSU last week!

We have some diehard Iowa fans in our family-bless them all for their effort and loyalty.

Our boys made the plays they had to...some exceptional runs-OMG, that elite cut by Corum that got us in front, some exceptional passes and then there were the catches!!! What a night!

Agreed.  I've seen many RB and WR passes that were like 10 to 20 yard rainbows, wobblers, or ducks where the receiver had to adjust to catch it, but never a perfectly thrown 50 plus yard bullet that hit the wideout perfectly in stride.  Probably the best wildcat option pass ever in terms of the sheer execution of the pass.  After so many years of frustration watching other teams execute while we tried only utilized the Pepcat with no real threat to throw, or we messed it up, it is so gratifying to actually execute perfectly.

Commented to my parents that in the second quarter that Iowa wanted to drag us down their style of play, so I was glad we had gone up a couple scores to avoid getting into a rock fight like 2016. Glad we got it together and kept scoring.

I want to call their offense like a slow boil. Cade shutting up the haters again which is nice. Run game and OL came around in the second half. It's like they slowly whether away the opponent until you realize you can't stop them.

Really felt like we got spooked after that pick in the first half. Once we got it to 21 and got loose again, the offense took off once again. Hopefully playing with house money in the CFP will let us play fast and loose

Great point.  As the first team to ever make it to playoff after starting as unranked team to begin the season we are not playing with any pressure of expectations.  Hopefully, Bama and UGA will be playing with the weight of the world on their shoulders.  And Cincy will be carrying the pressure of proving that they belong.  We on the other hand should be able to play loose and just have fun.  That should make it easier to just go and ball and have fun executing rather than worry about making mistakes and turning that pressure into a self-fulfilling prophecy.  That's an unspoken advantage that no Michigan team has really had before.

How many times over the past decade and a half have we been the team with pressure on it, with something to prove, trying to live up to high expectations, facing an opponent that can just play loose and give it their best shot?

How many times have we looked tight, tentative, playing not to lose, letting the opponent hang around, even though we have more talent and should be pulling away?

The past several games have shown a bunch of guys, and perhaps a program, that is confident enough and aggressive enough to know it can win any game it's in... and then go out and do it!! Losing to Sparty this year looked potentially devastating. Instead, they refocused, didn't flinch, and won out.

My hope is that this team's attitude carries over from year to year. There are lots of underclassmen who can impress upon their successors over the next several years what kind of work and attitude it takes to win, how to play the game with confidence in your ability, and what the payoff can be. This game and this year may well be a turning point for a program that needed one.

Excellent post. One major part of our success has been the emergence of strong student leaders -- I'm sure Aidan and Cade have been two of them -- and this will be very important going forward. Strong, positive presences in the locker room need to be cultivated and encouraged.

This whole season, this team did not fold when faced with adversity. Steel in their spines, for certain. This is the kind of attitude we need year after year.

How about Donovan Edwards? How many times did we bash our heads against a wall watching Cade overthrow a wide open receiver? And Edwards nails Wilson in stride on his first throw! Haha.

But, really, great game from everyone with the 2nd quarter mishap of falling into the Ferentz-Ball trap.
