BIG TEN CHAMPIONS!!!
December 4th, 2021 at 11:45 PM ^
I was very pumped when Vastard the bastard decided to return - knowing what an intelligent and talented player he is. However, I could not help but think that those who stay will be doctors. Well, the old mantra that those who still will be champions has been resurrected by Vastardis, Hutchinson, Hawkins, Haskins, Steuber, Ross, and many other dedicated upper class-men who put in the work and reaped the rewards!
December 4th, 2021 at 11:45 PM ^
Well, I don’t think anyone is surprised with this season
December 4th, 2021 at 11:45 PM ^
Reasonable. Safe at times. Then, explosive. Exactly what it needed to be.
Win with character. Win with cruelty.
Go Blue.

I hate GD snowflakes

Snowflakes hate you too
December 5th, 2021 at 8:48 AM ^
I thought they were quite beautiful floating down on OSU last week!
We have some diehard Iowa fans in our family-bless them all for their effort and loyalty.
Our boys made the plays they had to...some exceptional runs-OMG, that elite cut by Corum that got us in front, some exceptional passes and then there were the catches!!! What a night!
December 4th, 2021 at 11:47 PM ^
We played most aggressively late in the 4th quarter. Ferentz needed a spanking feom the football gods for 4 minute possessions resulting in 4th quarter punts. We were glad to oblige.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:37 AM ^
I think it’s just that we had good field position. In the 2nd Q we were stuck in the shadow of our own goalposts the whole time.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:41 AM ^
I agree. And with a lead against an Iowa team that needed Michigan to hand them mistakes, going safe there was the right choice, and that was borne out on the field.
December 4th, 2021 at 11:52 PM ^
I need that flag that Charles Woodson has.
December 5th, 2021 at 1:53 AM ^
Probably reserved for college football and NFL HoFers
December 4th, 2021 at 11:52 PM ^
Love keeping the foot on the gas late.
December 5th, 2021 at 9:20 AM ^
I have to think Harbaugh was playing for the #1 seed in the 4th quarter. Smart man.
December 4th, 2021 at 11:53 PM ^
Tell me again how low scoring this one will be :D
December 5th, 2021 at 8:35 AM ^
The over/under number was 43.5. We let Iowa get 3 points to cover the over. I suppose we could have let them get a 2-point safety on us, that would have also covered the over, but why embarrass the offense?
December 4th, 2021 at 11:53 PM ^
I will be scouring the internet in the coming days to determine Donovan Edwards' QB rating from this game.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:25 AM ^
Wildcat package?
December 5th, 2021 at 10:35 AM ^
I despise the wildcat, but I wonder the same thing. My Lord, if he can throw fifty yard dimes, what could he do in the red zone? That game was so fun….,
December 5th, 2021 at 2:22 PM ^
I still think a JJ - Haskins - Corum triple option would be awesome. But now, maybe throw in Edwards as the pitch man with a pass option...
December 5th, 2021 at 1:16 AM ^
I have never seen a Rb throw a pass like that. Ever.
December 5th, 2021 at 1:36 AM ^
Agreed. I've seen many RB and WR passes that were like 10 to 20 yard rainbows, wobblers, or ducks where the receiver had to adjust to catch it, but never a perfectly thrown 50 plus yard bullet that hit the wideout perfectly in stride. Probably the best wildcat option pass ever in terms of the sheer execution of the pass. After so many years of frustration watching other teams execute while we tried only utilized the Pepcat with no real threat to throw, or we messed it up, it is so gratifying to actually execute perfectly.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:41 AM ^
He stood in there and got rocked. Just a fucking killer from the bottom of his soul. Really gonna miss Haskins but seeing DO in more games is gonna be fun.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:04 AM ^
That should have been roughing the passer. Obviously it didn’t matter but that was blatant
December 5th, 2021 at 3:10 AM ^
Debated starting a thread but I’ll post here. Anyone nervous that Edwards will transfer since we have Cade and JJ? He might want his shot as QB1?
December 5th, 2021 at 8:09 AM ^
(DO+)novan Edwards
December 5th, 2021 at 2:42 PM ^
I have never seen a Rb throw a pass like that. Ever.
Denard Robinson. . .
*ducks*
December 5th, 2021 at 8:25 PM ^
Upvoted for the Denard RB comment.
December 5th, 2021 at 1:20 AM ^
According to ESPN, 100.0 QBR. Not too bad
December 5th, 2021 at 1:27 AM ^
Highest YPA in program history I would say
December 5th, 2021 at 3:36 AM ^
There was a thread posted with the correct answer: 1060, by the NCAA formula. (A perfect 153.3 by the NFL formula; the NCAA formula doesn’t have the built-in caps that the NFL formula does).
December 4th, 2021 at 11:54 PM ^
Commented to my parents that in the second quarter that Iowa wanted to drag us down their style of play, so I was glad we had gone up a couple scores to avoid getting into a rock fight like 2016. Glad we got it together and kept scoring.
December 4th, 2021 at 11:55 PM ^
42 points!
That feels familiar. Oh, yeah. Last week!
December 5th, 2021 at 12:38 AM ^
Harbaugh said something on the postgame show about hitting Tate's number on the scoreboard.
If that's so, it's the best reason to run up the score ever.
December 5th, 2021 at 10:17 AM ^
They were desperately trying to get Selzer a td, they ran 3 straight plays to him
December 4th, 2021 at 11:55 PM ^
That's gotta chap Warren's ass, having to hand the championship trophy to Coach Harbaugh.
December 4th, 2021 at 11:56 PM ^
We are the best. Period. We can win many ways. We are not a one trick pony. Go Blue!
December 4th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ^
I want to call their offense like a slow boil. Cade shutting up the haters again which is nice. Run game and OL came around in the second half. It's like they slowly whether away the opponent until you realize you can't stop them.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:00 AM ^
Really felt like we got spooked after that pick in the first half. Once we got it to 21 and got loose again, the offense took off once again. Hopefully playing with house money in the CFP will let us play fast and loose
December 5th, 2021 at 1:42 AM ^
Great point. As the first team to ever make it to playoff after starting as unranked team to begin the season we are not playing with any pressure of expectations. Hopefully, Bama and UGA will be playing with the weight of the world on their shoulders. And Cincy will be carrying the pressure of proving that they belong. We on the other hand should be able to play loose and just have fun. That should make it easier to just go and ball and have fun executing rather than worry about making mistakes and turning that pressure into a self-fulfilling prophecy. That's an unspoken advantage that no Michigan team has really had before.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:09 AM ^
How many times over the past decade and a half have we been the team with pressure on it, with something to prove, trying to live up to high expectations, facing an opponent that can just play loose and give it their best shot?
How many times have we looked tight, tentative, playing not to lose, letting the opponent hang around, even though we have more talent and should be pulling away?
The past several games have shown a bunch of guys, and perhaps a program, that is confident enough and aggressive enough to know it can win any game it's in... and then go out and do it!! Losing to Sparty this year looked potentially devastating. Instead, they refocused, didn't flinch, and won out.
My hope is that this team's attitude carries over from year to year. There are lots of underclassmen who can impress upon their successors over the next several years what kind of work and attitude it takes to win, how to play the game with confidence in your ability, and what the payoff can be. This game and this year may well be a turning point for a program that needed one.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:19 PM ^
Excellent post. One major part of our success has been the emergence of strong student leaders -- I'm sure Aidan and Cade have been two of them -- and this will be very important going forward. Strong, positive presences in the locker room need to be cultivated and encouraged.
This whole season, this team did not fold when faced with adversity. Steel in their spines, for certain. This is the kind of attitude we need year after year.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:04 AM ^
Edwards pass was a
The first half started with fireworks and ended with sparklers, but what a second half.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:05 AM ^
It may not always be pretty, but the last 2 games in the 2nd halfs they have been about perfect.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:09 AM ^
How about Donovan Edwards? How many times did we bash our heads against a wall watching Cade overthrow a wide open receiver? And Edwards nails Wilson in stride on his first throw! Haha.
But, really, great game from everyone with the 2nd quarter mishap of falling into the Ferentz-Ball trap.
December 5th, 2021 at 12:51 AM ^
"How many times did we bash our heads against a wall watching Cade overthrow a wide open receiver?"
Outside of one game...not very many. Especially late in the season. He's been quite good.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:04 AM ^
Sorry my good man. I was a little tipsy when I posted and that was supposed to come off as more of a light-hearted ribbing than an indictment of the QB/Offense/Playcalling.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:15 AM ^
Nah your OP was valid. It may have been a coaching point for him to put the ball out in front. Or, as DG suggested, it may have been on the WR's getting their collective heads around too early instead of remaining in the sprint, as he demonstrated with CJ
