Illinois v OSU is a good game

Anyone think Illinois is better without Ayo? They have their own little Ewing Theory going on bc they seem better running the offense through Curbello who btw has a hell of a future in the BIG.

I saw a short clip of the Gonzaga center in the paint making a bunch of jukes before getting to the basket.  Pretty sure (not 100%) it was Dickey V going on and on how good he is.  I’m zero percent basketball expert, but I watched him pick up an move each foot - twice.   No whistle...

Absolutely.  Ayo is a really good player with the ball in his hand but the offense also sort of stops when he's working and you can tell the guys around him just sort of wait.  It's still a good offense but seeing them without Ayo for a bit shows a team with more flexibility and creativity.

I think Curbelo has one more year then off to the League with him. Has to develop his outside shot but otherwise he looks great.

Yeah the offense bogs down with Ayo out there. They all sit and wait for him to do something. Where he helps is on the defensive end with his length. I think they played the perfect game against us last time and we will get them back if we see them in the conference tourney.

I will say that while I loathe both fanbases and they can die in a fire for all I care... no one deserves to have Dick Vitale call a game they're in.  No one.

Ohio State are a bunch of chokers.  Washington folded down the stretch once again.  Haven't been the same since the coach started talking about gold charms for beating Michigan. Hate to see it.

When did I say that? Illinois is a bad matchup against M, and M simultaneously shit the fucking bed against them. Unlike half the board who bandwagon’d onto the Howard train after Battle for Atlantis, I was hype from the get go.

Harbaugh on the other hand...

Illinois closes out the game with a 9-0 run.

That's the second time.  Against us they only scored something like 2 baskets in the last 10 minutes.

O$U is folding to end their season.

OSU played like shit to close out the game, but wow, the refs were sucking off Illinois the whole game. That was an obvious charge on Ayo

OSU blew this game so fucking hard.  What was Duane Washington doing at the end?  Got an offensive rebound and instead of running more clock, he drives into a wild shot at the rim. The next possession, he forces another wild shot at the rim with like 20 on the shot clock.

Wow. OSU was up by 4 with a little over 2 minutes to go, went scoreless the rest of the way, and lost by 5. It seemed like they were missing shots from all over the court.

It's too bad that both teams couldn't lose, but better for OSU to take the dishonor.

The bright side is Illinois is likely the fourth 1 seed so we won’t see them til championship game if then. Would like a rematch in BTT to see if Juwan can make adjustments.

While I agree with your reasoning, It seems apparent that Cockburn presents issues for Dickinson/M that few other teams can match.  Therefore avoiding them until late in the NCAA  - (after we beat them in the B1G preferably) - is a good outcome.

Also it’s a travesty that Duke is 11-10 and is listed as first four out. As far as I’m concerned they would have to win ACC Tournament to make it that’s a horrible record.

Well I can’t be too upset about OSU losing, but I’m sick of Illinois this year and wanted them to go down.

But whatever, we’re Big Ten champs.  Deal with it Underwood.
