Heresy: A Deal With The Devil
I understand this is a Michigan sports blog, and as such, I expect to get negged to oblivion, but what if you got to choose:
A. Michigan national championship win this year
B. Detroit Lions Superbowl win this year
Which do you choose? I think I'd have to choose the Lions because of how putrid they've historically been and also, I think it might be celebrated as one of the greatest United States sports championships ever.
Thoughts?

How about, would you rather that Franz could hit a 3 pointer and we go to the FF vs. Gonzaga in 2021 or that Nik hit a miracle 3 and we go to the FF vs. Wisconsin in 2014?

I’m sitting here watching the Lions game with my Lions shirt on. I’ve been to a few Lions games at Ford Field. Since I was 3 years old and figured out what sports were, I have been a Lions, Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons, and UM fan.
the only correct answer is Michigan winning a NC 100 times out of 100

Michigan is a national school, no make that an international school. (MSU is the parochial regional state school.)
Therefore, a good many of us could not care less about the Detroit Lions.

No matter how great the Leo’s look this year, they will not win a Super Bowl now or for a very long time. Because they are cursed.

The nfl is a business. College football is life

You misspelled Bolivia.

Lions are still a few years away. Michigan is literally one day away and may not have as good a team or opportunity to win it all again

Hey Blog About Michigan Football,
Which would you prefer?
Ultimate success for Michigan football? Or like someone who was notoriously bad at Zelda being so good that it's like totally a big Legend of Zelda deal?
I know this is an unconventional post for a blog a blog about Michigan football, but I'm kinda thinking we all gotta go Zelda guy.
You're all with me right?

Why not both?

I regret that I have but one downvote to give to this post.

If you told me that Michigan would win a national title but the Lions had to move to another city, I'd start buying moving boxes.

The players and front office would be like "cool see ya"
An NFL team is just a jersey. Pay the players 5% more and they will put on someone else's jersey.
No band, no alumni, no students, no campus. NFL is fantasy football and jersey sales.
If college didnt exist I would probably watch it. Thank god it does.

No, I have absolutely no thoughts about your shitpost.

I've always heard there is no such thing as a stupid question.
Hooooo boy, this post certainly challenges that assertion.

How is this not deleted yet?
But to answer your question, I don't give a shit about the lions and could not care less if they play in a Superbowl.

Great question, and one that's been asked regularly here in Michigan lately. The answer is Lions 100%. And part of the reason can be seen in the responses in this here thread. I love M football but our fans are mostly spoiled snobby pricks who complain when other fans shit on us but never hesitate when they get a chance to do the shitting. When we're good, our fans are (maybe) tolerable but when we're losing, our fans are insufferable.
Despite all the losing over the years, Lions fans are loyal as they come, and in fact all the losing has giving them a humility that the Michigan fanbase will never have.
My 81-year-old mother has been a Lions fan since she was 5 years old, and asks me every year at the beginning of the season, is this the year? I'd like nothing more than for her to see the Lions answer that question with a Super Bowl ring.
Go Honolulu Blue! Beat the Rams!

Agreed, the Michigan fanbase can be every bit as insufferable as they claim MSUs or OSUs to be.
Go Blue and Go Honolulu Blue!
