He’s a player that has blown up due to his senior tape. 6’7 225lb, out of Wstlake, TX. The staff is selling him on becoming a Hutchinson type prospect. Obviously he is much more raw than Hutchinson and will take longer to develop. I think the staff realized that Josephs was slipping away to Tennessee and identified another Edge targeted and quickly brought him in the fold.

Of note, Burke was committed to play for Maryland Lacrosse before blowing up in football and landing a bunch of offers from the likes of Utah, Baylor, and obviously Michigan. 2nd player in this class that’s following that path after Jimmy Rolder.

He has a rating of 87 on 247 (mid 3 star), while On3 put him at a 90 (low 4 star)

Edit: A little more context to Burkes sudden rise in rakings from 247

Burke broke his collarbone right before the football season as a junior at the Under Armour All-American lacrosse game. He came back late in the season and contributed in the state championship. He blossomed as a senior fully healthy, where he has 49 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

This is great, because it means we’re building ties to the HS football hotbed that is Austin. Westlake has produced Drew Brees, Nick Foles, Sam Ehlinger, and many others. Its arch rival, Lake Travis HS, produced Baker Mayfield, Garrett Wilson, and many others also. OSU in particular does well in central Texas.

A great week keeps getting better.  If we stick to the McDonald Defense model for the next few years, then we have another solid player to add to the rotation at this key position.

He heard Brando's enthusiastic "Sack Time!"  and wanted in on that action.....

don't break the news to him that not only will Brando not be doing games after this season, but Keith Jackson won't either.

Another recruiting nugget:

The crystal balls have flipped from MSU to Michigan for 3* 2023 OL Dylan Senda (from Dearborn-Divine Child). Senda visited for the Michigan-OSU game this weekend and announced his Top 4 of Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, and Northwestern. Senda will be announcing his decision on December 20th, so we won't have to wait long for this one. On the field, Senda is an interior OL that projects to center most likely.

Additional nugget:

Wiltfong just put in a crystal ball for 2023 Top 100 linebacker Raylen Wilson to commit to Michigan. Wilson is from Tallahassee and is a George Helow target. Wilson is an athletic linebacker with offers from everywhere: UGA, Bama, OSU, Clemson, LSU, ND, PSU, TAMU, USC, UF, FSU, etc. This would be a huge pickup.

Edit: Wilson will be announcing his decision on December 8th from a Top 2 of Michigan and Georgia.

If he plays lacrosse that indicates a high level of athleticism/agility.  Tall and not that heavy--he will need to pack on some muscle for DE.

I watched this kid's tape a while back when we first offered and was a huge fan. He's basically a "build a DE" at this point. Has great athleticism, speed, get-off, and has some nice pass rush moves, but definitely need to put on like 30+ pounds. Great pick up. I'd recommend the star watchers watch his Hudl tape before freaking out

Since Lacrosse prioritizes speed and agility and doesn't generally have you trying to run through 300 pound people, yes he probably had stayed light for lacrosse.

If he wants to develop into a football star at the college level he will need to pack on some weight/muscle.
