There has not been a good photoshop on MGoBlog in a while.  Thanks for a good one.

Adegoke was on the Michigan…

Adegoke was on the Michigan staff as an analyst in 2021.  Lamar Morgan, the other candidate, was the one that worked with Minter.  Good to get this hole plugged on the staff.

Start calling your players Coach Adegoke.

Looking forward to similar…

Looking forward to similar posts for a Linebacker Coach and a DB Coach reaching out to players.  Spring ball starts soon.

I am not a lawyer and do not…

I am not a lawyer and do not work in administration for a large academic institution, but I am guessing that morality and for cause clauses are part of every employment agreement at The University of Michigan.  The financial leadership, HR, and risk management groups for The University of Michigan have likely mandated policies in this regard and the Regents have approved these policies.  Large institutions put safeguards in place like this, make them to be policies, and have to stick with them with no exception.  It may sound bureaucratic but it also a way to not discriminate or show undue favor to one person over another.

TheTeam16 - I lived in…

TheTeam16 - I lived in Columbus from 2004 to 2014 and can fully appreciate what you have endured over these past 20 years.  The influence of the Ohio State fans during those years has only made my support and belief in our Team that much stronger.  While it easy to feel you pain, the best thing we can do as Michigan fans and/or alums is to stay classy.  We can be proud but do not have to be boastful around Ohio State fans.

Without them, our success would not be what it is today.

Sorry gang.  Twitter feed made it look like it was current.  Lesson learned to look more closely at this hyper active board and second and third pages.

Yes.  If his strategy was to boost ratings for The Game, I think he had done all he can.

I Concur....

My dream about the…

My dream about the resolution of SignalGate, that I know will not happen tomorrow is:

  • NCAA Calls Up the B1G today and says they are not going to further pursue SignalGate investigation against Michigan
  • The B1G commissioner reconsiders and backs down in advance of the hearing tomorrow.  Maybe gets Michigan agree to cut the suspension down to one or two games only.  TOR case is dropped.
  • Makes The Game fair and square
  • Commissioner can save face saying he tried to penalize Michigan and had not choice but to back down to the other schools in the Conference

One can dream about a Win-Win scenario even though the parties involved are not inclined to compromise.

I thought it was suspected…

I thought it was suspected these images came from the All 22 videos that every team has access to.

Another point to add here…

Another point to add here. What if the two parties were to negotiate and settle on a two game suspension for coach Harbaugh before the TRO hearing?  I know both parties have their principles but both parties benefit if the dispute can be resolved before The Game.

I know I am naively looking for compromise in this polarized world.

This chaos will eventually come to full conclusion when the NCAA implements headsets in helmets and most likely comes to allow any and all digital information to be used by teams in scouting regardless of how it I acquired.

The guys have been busy but Brian promised the Offense UFR tonight in a tweet earlier today.

The NCAA could turn out to…

The NCAA could turn out to be our friend in this matter.  It is the B1G and the slanted media that is our current foe.

I saw this segment as well…

I saw this segment as well this morning but thought the best side of the debate came from Dan Orlovsky.  He talked about how well Michigan has played, scored, and sent high quality draft picks to the NFL.  The other commentators only provided single data points (loss to TCU because they changed their signs and Finebaums line that Michigans record would be tainted if we win the CFP).

The smart football people know the truth.   The overall narrative is changing. Hopefully it will make a difference with the B1G commish.

Brian mentions it but the…

Brian mentions it but the easiest solution for this matter is simple compromise. However in these polarizing times, the loud voices out there will not accept compromise but the masses will accept it

The Compromise

- BIG and NCAA acknowledge sign stealing exists

- Move immediately to either speakers in helmets for all bowl games or wrist bands

- Come up with an clear solution to eliminate signs next year

- Move on and just keep an eye open for the next trick the paranoid coaches of America come up with and prepare to adapt

I just got back from Greece.  Enjoy your travels back in time.

My seats for the game were…

My seats for the game were in the South End Zone where Michigan scored all 3 TD’s in the 4th quarter. The game had everything that was right and wrong about Michigan football at the time.  The good was Denard, Gallion, Roundtree, Lewan, and Hokes general love for Michigan.  The bad was the bumblebee uniforms, the Jersey retirements, and the over promotion of the game by Brandon.

I am traveling tonight but look forward to watching the special on my DVR later this week.

Therefore you are correct.

I know I should not be following this saga with hourly clicks on MGoBlog but cannot wait for this to end.

One of my management lessons…

One of my management lessons learned over several years is when you start doing someone else’s job, there is a problem that needs to be addressed one way or another.

So we can point the NIL…

So we can point the NIL Money Cannon at NCAA Athletes but if a coach buys them a $20 Burger when they are already committed, he gets in trouble even if he gets cranky or forgetful about the event?

The crew at MGoBlog is working overtime this past week. Portal Commitments, New 2023 Commitments, and glimpses into the future.  Keep up the good work team.

Agree with you Tybert. I was a Trombone in the MMB from 1979-1983. We marched on a paved Elbel and it probably cost me 2 meniscus surgeries later in life.  A better practice environment would be great for the future members of the MMB.

Great write up Brian…

Great write up Brian integrating your own vulnerabilities and fear, the love of your son Denard Robinson Cook, and our collective passion Michigan Football.

Here is to looking forward to more of all the above in the months and years ahead.

Let's hold all talk on the Illinois Game until the final whistle of the Nebraska Game.

Interesting  way to start…

Interesting way to start the day. A 1990’s flash back and way too many disturbing words and images involving orange.  Creating tension that us Michigan fans will feel all day until the final whistle.

If the opposing teams in CFB can get the full tapes, it does not seem like it would be a big problem if this dear old football blog had the same access?  Then we could have even more debates over how we viewed the plays made or not made each game.

Lots of games remain to be…

Lots of games remain to be played.

Some mistakes will be made.

But JJ McCarthy is the difference maker that Harbaugh has been looking for to take Michigan Football to the next level.

Let the JJ McCarthy era at Michigan commence.

The photos for this post and…

The photos for this post and the prior one for the MGoPodcast were great visuals to illustrate the QB situation at Michigan.  Cade waving goodbye and JJ throwing to Harbaugh are very symbolic about where we stand after week 1.

However, it is a long season.  JJ McCarthy has the tendency to not protect himself while running and he may be overexuberant with his arm in future situations.  We need a QB2 to weather a long season and hoping Cade licks his emotional wounds and stay committed to the team and his teammates.

I was a freshman in the band…

I was a freshman in the band that year as well.  Remember getting ready to do postgame and wearing our hats in the forward position because of the pending tie.  Best end of game finish next to UTL I that I have attended in person.  AC is Michigan Receiver #1 for a number of reasons.

For those of us that have been on MGoBlog for 10 years or longer, these reports may be the most boring Fall Football Bits we have had to read.  All things are lined up as predicted, especially on offense, and there are really no mysteries to who will be starting, who is on second string, with just some tidbits on the freshmen who may get some plays and opportunities for future development.  Limited news = Good news!

It always seems like we need to wait a day or two and a reporter like Angelique Chengelis gets the terms of the agreement and reports out the terms.  It is slow play out with no fanfare leaving us to all interpret the meaning of the terms without really knowing what was really discussed.  Glad it was signed and that the coaches and team can start to get ready for Spring Practice.

LSAClassOf2000,

LSAClassOf2000,

Thanks for sharing your appreciation for the past year, the acknowledgement of your personal struggles, and your ongoing support and moderation of this strange but wonderful place where we all connect.  You reflection could probably be written by all of us in some shape or form and it is great that we have had the gift of Michigan sports to connect us and more importantly allow us to escape from some of the challenges we have all faced.

This pandemic can be summed up by the phrase "We are all in the same storm but in different boats."  Last years football Michigan football team was leaking badly and taking on water.

With much appreciation to Captain Harbaugh, his coaches, and the grit of the players, we have been given a great gift of reestablish success on the field that we all love so very much.

Keep up the good work, stay strong in your efforts to stay sober, and know that we all support you and this unique place called MGoBlog.

With Appreciation and Happy Holidays to You and Yours,

LSAClassOf1983
