At least now we can confirm IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE MONEY.  Harbaugh's ultimate goal in life is to win a Super Bowl.  Harbaugh is 60 years old.  This is likely his last chance to win a SB.

Tear the band-aid off.  Right now.  You'll thank us later.

Also expect tomorrow afternoon for Warde to name Sherrone the new HC.  I'd prefer Minter, but Harbaugh probably set up a deal with the Chargers to guarantee Minter gets crazy cash if he goes with Harbaugh to the Chargers.

Next Man Up.  Congratulations, Coach, and best of luck next season.

Moore is the best bet.  Try to keep Minter.  If not, anyone would be silly to pass on the opportunity to coach a stacked cupboard like the Michigan D.

It's curious that there's been no official announcement, and Harbaugh's second interview with the Falcons was "postponed" 6 hours ago, but not cancelled, per other reports.

So while this may be true, it may also be a strong rumor amplified by the media. It's not panic time, regardless. He should do whatever suits him, he did his job here.

Damn.  Like JJ, I am happy that he is able to chase his dream.  But selfishly, I am disappointed.  Best Michigan coach in my lifetime and that includes Bo.

I hope he fails spectacularly.  I will be rooting against him. I personally could care less about the Chargers and NFL.  I massively appreciate the National Championship and he should be welcomed back with a standing ovation. Put up a statue. Praise him as a hero. All of it.  Still want him to fail and leaving Michigan to be the wrong choice. That's how I feel. So thank you Jim, I wish you the best personally. Great health, etc. but specifically with the Chargers I hope you lose every game and Mahomes eats your lunch. Everyone will neg me, but deep down you agree. This is bad for Michigan and he's gonna take away our staff and chances of success are diminished for us. If your not for Michigan then you can fail. No one would enjoy seeing San Diego winning Superbowls while Moore runs it 34 times a game and we become even more hamstrung by lack of NIL than we were with Jim.  If you want to see that then you're a masochist or trying to feel like you're above that type of thought.

It sucks but either way its nice to have semblance of stability with the whole dalliance of JH to NFL.  I sure hope it doesnt come out that the school totally botched this.  In any case, wishing the absolute best for Jim and hope he conquers with the Chargers what he did here.  Appreciate the man taking us out of the dark ages and winning it all when most, if not all, thought this was the demise of UM football during RRod and Hoke years.  Best wishes, JH.

Wow. Not shocked, but disappointed AF.

Now, on to the next coach. I know many want Moore, but I am not sold. I see another version of Hoke. I would prefer a proper search, but I doubt UM does it.

I have had a great time these past three years. I hope it doesn’t take another 10 to get back to this feeling.

I don’t know that he’ll be another Brady Hoke, but it’s certainly within the realm of reason that he gets in over his head.

The real problem is we just don’t know how he’s going to do. It’s literally a 50/50 crap shoot. Not exactly what I’d call ideal when you’re trying to capitalize on a national championship.

I guess I don’t mind he went to the NFL but this spot just doesn’t seem like the right one. Offense of line needs help they need receivers. They need a running back. They have salary cap problems up and down the roster. Not sure how long this is gonna take

Doesn't matter which team, they won't be good. The best thing Harbaugh has is QB which is more than any of the team can say. It's easy to turn around in a short amount of time with the right coach and QB. See Houston Texans with Demeco Ryans and CJ Stroud. Went from worst team in the league to wild card winner.

Welp. Thanks for everything Jim and best of luck. We wouldve been over the moon with these nine seasons if youd told us this was how it would go back in 2014

Many people are defending Warde under the assumption that Jim wanted to be in the NFL regardless. I think the writing was on the wall as soon as Michigan capitulated to the Big 10 and fired Partridge. It was never about money. Jim never felt the support from the AD. If Warde is blocking NIL progress (as has been claimed), it’s setting up Sherrone or whoever else up for failure. Beyond time to reboot at AD.

A Michigan legend, FUCKING FOREVER. He conquered the Buckeyes, he ended Saban's dynasty, and he won Michigan a national championship while riding out a few really bad years in the middle.

God bless Jim Harbaugh. I will now become a huge Chargers fan.

I’m nervous about Moore as a 1st time head coach being given the keys to the program.  I would be hesitant to give him too much term if they redo his deal. Though in todays day and age, I guess you can buyout anyone.

This is akin to a funeral. Its sad time as things change quickly. Im glad for Harbaugh because he preserves his legacy and will go down as Michigan football’s greatest hero ever. The man slayed the dragon and brought home a natty. He did it the hard way fighting though adversity as nothing came easy.

Chargers will be must see TV as Im sure every michigan and college football fan will be tuned into to Los Angeles every Sunday. Buckeyes are breathing sigh of relief as their bully has left town and now they can stop sweating that Michigan would run football down their throats every year and embarass tf out the state of ohio.

the great times never last forever but they were indeed great and nobody can ever take away the bliss and memories we will take to graves.  Harbaugh is the GOAT and we were lucky to be witnesses

I won't be. I am moved to the point where I could not care less about Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers, as the NFL outside of the Lions does nothing for me. I don't care what a former coach does at a new job. Living in Georgia I havent watched many NFL games the last 10-15 years simply because we don't get many Lions games on primetime until this year.
