We're long past the point of a legendary football coach transitioning into becoming an AD. A lot of the guys who did back in the day that were really just figureheads anyway and didn't much like the job (see: Bo).

Modern-day athletic departments are more or less corporations. You need someone with both athletics administration experience (not just coaching) and a clear sense of how to run a very complex business, because that's what it is. Jim Harbaugh is not that.

It would be absolutely shocking for Harbaugh to want to come back and deal with the bureaucracy that is being an athletic director. I really can’t see Jim wanting to come back to deal with budgets, contracts, and fundraising.

The only thing I could see is maybe taking on a Biff Poggi type role.

It's possible he could return. I am sure Jim imagines himself coaching at least 10 more years. There's a world where Sherrone isn't the HC here anymore after 5 years (for any number of good or bad reasons - maybe OU comes calling. who knows) and at the same time Jim is tired of the Chargers and the NFL. It's possible he could come back for another Bill Snyder-like tenure.

Would I bet on it? No. But are the odds of it happening 0.0%? Also no

We'll meet again by Alfie Boe and Vera Lynn

We'll meet again
Don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away

So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know?
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

We'll meet again
Don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

We'll meet again
Don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

I'm sure if its up to Jim Harbaugh he'll take every last coach and convince every last player to go the NFL.

I was the biggest Harbaugh supporter but now as he dodges the NCAA and leaves Michigan to pick up the pieces I honestly just wish he'd be gone.

I’m calling it now…Harbaugh goes all Jordan Belfort/Wolf of Wall Street, “I’m not leaving. I’m not f*cking leaving. This my home. They’re gonna need a f*cking wreckin ball to get me outta here!”

Either that or he gives some awkward speech with a metaphor that nobody quite understands but they leave inspired regardless.

Can we put all things Jim Harbaugh to bed?

3 years of the nonstop Jim Harbaugh has been insufferable.

Yeah, I could barely tolerate 3 straight victories over Ohio State, 3 straight Big Ten Championships, a narrative-changing win over SEC dynasty Alabama in the Rose Bowl, and an undefeated National Championship.

I just don't know how we made it through those 3 years.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

What stood out to me was what JH seemingly inferred that there will be a Michigan connection with the Chargers much like the one that’s been established with the ravens.

it’s the crucial advantage that Michigan has that no one else does.  This coaching farm system that’s being developed is very impressive and hopefully we reap the benefits from it.
