Let me guess how this all went down.  The deplorable 2% of Michigan fans were talking shit on social media about All and Cade after they decided to transfer.  Erick All probably saw it and shrugged it off publicly but bitched to people close to him, i.e. family and friends.  His family took it upon themselves to fight the fight against the 2% and respond on social media and in the process pissed off a much larger percentage of Michigan fans.

EDIT:  just saw the post above with a few snippets from the deplorables.  So yeah...

The All's are jaded as they are leaving a great place that has helped Erik become who he is as a football player. They do not view it as their doing but as Michigan's doing cause of the medical etc. Therefore they are taking some pot shots on the way out like anyone jaded in a break up does. NOT A GOOD LOOK

All Senior is trying to protect his son which I think he is going about it all wrong obviously but someone trying to accomplish that taking a swipe at another man's son for the entire world to see is as shitty as it gets. If I'm Erik I'm embarrassed honestly....

I was going to root for both Cade and Erik but not now....

Perhaps I'm just in a shitty mood today but to hell with both of them.  These aren't 17/18-year-old kids we are talking about (Freshman) as both All and Cade are 22, so like it or not, they are adults.  And as an adult, if you are going to put your drama out there, best know it's going to come right back at you.

Both, as of right now, reek of entitlement.  The one caveat I'll make is at least Cade's family has kept quiet.  All's family just appears to be completely classless assholes.  And don't give All a pass because it's his dad or his brother.  If he wanted to, he could probably shut this down right now.  Instead, he is enabling his family to speak.  He could have just as easily posted something renouncing his family's actions, but he hasn't.

The cold hard truth (as it appears right now) is that both got beat out by better players and are crying about it.  JJ is better than Cade, full stop.  Loveland is better for what we need than All was and already has as many TD's this season as All had in his entire career at Michigan.

As for the injury issues, I cannot comment too much as none of us really know.  However, as a former Michigan athlete (I was a walk-on) and someone in healthcare the last 18+ years, what they are spewing just doesn't add up.

  • If Cade had that torn Patella tendon and it was causing him so many issues as he stated, then why the fuck wouldn't you take it upon yourself to get a second opinion and get it fixed, especially considering you had a full offseason to do something about it.  You were a 21-year-old man at the time and if you are hurting, doing something about it.  Your healthcare is your responsibility.  If you don't like what the DR's are telling you, then its your responsibility to seek more opinions/council.
    • Hate to say this, but it may be more that Cade knew that if he came out he was never going to get his job back from JJ.  So he played hurt, knowing the consequences and now he lost his job anyways.
    • Also, despite that many of us have questioned Jims "Meritocracy" that has been his motto.  So that means best player plays.  Did Cade just think that Jim was going to give him the job unopposed??  Does nick Saban ring a bell here...He benched Jalen Hurts in the title game and it was the best decision for Bama...They won a title with Tua, not Jalen.
  • I don't think we will ever get the full story with All, but it appears this was a life altering back surgery for him.  So, kudos to him for getting what needed to get done for him.  I can appreciate that.
    • On the filp side of that though, the offense just went with next man up and by the end of the season, All's play on the field wasn't missed.  Luke and Colston did just fine in his absence.  Again, Jim may have very well said "Hey, you have to compete for TE #1 next year, its not a given based on how the other TE's played this year"

So, long story short, I understand these two guys had to battle some injuries, I get that.  But what it really looks like is that better players stepped up and beat them out, and now they are going to blame the injuries as why -

Welp, that's too bad, and fuck them. I get it, you're pissed about how things ended. You wanna take shots at Harbaugh and even Michigan's medical staff, even if it's bogus, fine. Like all other disputes, it's "I said, they said." But the player replacing you had nothing to do with it. That's garbage.

The Alls will no doubt be heroes on RCMB now for "something something exposing Harbaugh something Blue Wall" as per typical expectations, but that kind of trashy behavior is exactly what would get the Alls the "Walvie/SCum" tag if Erick were transferring in the opposite direction.

My dad always told me "Never argue with an asshole as they will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." The sooner we ignore these guys, the faster we will all move on. We're in the CFP (again.) They chose not to participate. Good luck in Iowa and wish they and their families well. Moving on.

Can't wait for December 31st. Go Blue, beat TCU.

Anger is part of the grieving process, and I'm genuinely sad for All and his family. He is more than his football skills, but I know that I would be devastated if a thing I was really good at was put on the line. Some shady people took advantage of that grief/anger and got in their ear.

That said, their reactions are spiraling out of control. They need to evaluate the long-term, here. When football ends, and it seems that it will end sooner for him than would be optimal, he will need a network, and they are burning bridges all over the place.

Nearly everything Erick All and his family have said on the way out is complete and obvious bullshit. It's like they don't understand the first thing about being on a team (much less being captain of a team), which is weird and disappointing.  Their attitude certainly suggests the problem is them rather than Michigan, which means Michigan will be better off without them.

Cade would do well to stop talking, but he's not necessarily of the same ilk as All.  While we all saw the QB battle play out and it's screamingly obvious that he lost it, it's also understandable that he would want to find a place where he once again can be QB1, and he'll always be the guy who led the team to last year's B1G championship and the 42-27 win over OSU.  Some of his talk now sounds like sour grapes (and is somewhat inconsistent with other things he has said), but I get why he would feel damaged by some of what went down, even if JJ was plainly the winner.

Bottom line for me is that All can piss off, but I wish Cade well.

There was a report that E All struggled with maturity.  Given his 19 yo brother talks about toilets and calls someone "penis breath" (which seem more like 10 yo behavior) and his dad All's comments, immaturity sort of seems like a family trait.

Imagine being an NFL GM and having to wonder if Erick All's fuckstick father and brother are going to bully your team's fans on Twitter if Erick gets traded.

The kind of due diligence that NFL teams go through is intense. I imagine that Jim Harbaugh and Kirk Ferentz will get some calls asking about this situation.

What a shit show. And I feel bad for Erick All: imagine growing up in a household where your Dad, the guy who's supposed to be a mature role model, acts like this.

I also feel bad for the Iowa locker room. I've got nothing bad to say about Iowa and their fans (your coaches kinda suck guys), and they don't deserve this BS either. Iowa ALSO has a bunch of pretty good TEs: are THEY going to be cyber bullied by Erick's family?

Seen a couple of people talking about the family affecting the Erick's employability.

Not correcting you and conventional wisdom would seem to suggest that line of thought is reasonable.

Then these two words blow all of that up:

LaVar Ball.

That fucking idiot has got into just not twitter pissing contests but in person beefs with fans, management, and teams. Yet all three of his kids are playing in the NBA.
