Weird suspension. Available for home games during the suspension.

I'm sure it's because he's not going to class. It's not that he's ineligible, but he's probably headed down that road and if he misses another class, he fails the class.

When you're at home, you still go to class, even on gameday you go to classes in the morning.

Obviously, when you're on the road, you don't. And so he's missing classes while on the road, and likely not doing the work when he's on the road (academic staff travels with football and men's basketball to help them complete work or take tests when they travel).

So he's expected to be in class every day, which generally won't interfere with practice or home games.

Maybe this is an attempt to take back that control. This season seems beyond salvage, so why not shake things up, make a statement?

Sounds like it's academic in nature.

The answer might be in simply admitting there isn't the core of much of anything on the roster right now. Juwan's new to coaching. If he's ready to try out Juwan 2.0 here, it's worth a look.

What do you want Warde to do right now?

Juwan is done at Michigan, Warde isn't going to fire him during the season, but the moment that last game is over...either Howard moves on his own or Warde will have to announce "a change in leadership." Which is what you say when you fire someone that you have a good relationship with, or an alum, or someone you want to see land on their feet.

But he's getting fired.

And I would do it right before the B1G tournament so he doesn't fuck around and win a few games and give people hope. But I think Warde let's him finish it out to the very end.

Well, Martelli is a former head coach, so pretty easy to.slap an interim tag on him fornthenrest of.the season. Also extends an olive branch of sorts to Juwan as there is plenty of NBA season left if he wants to return to that arena.

I dropped Biff Poggi's name in another thread about potential AD's...maybe he can just be the culture fix-it guy for MBB like he was for FB?? It could work...and it's fun to say his name.

I unfortunately disagree that Juwan is getting fired after this year.

Warde had 2 chances to fire Juwan with cause to mitigate losses on the buyout with the Wisconsin and Sanderson incidents after Juwan's large contract extension.

Juwans contract runs through 2026-2027 and I be willing bet he will finish it out regardless of the results if Warde is still AD.

So it’s Juwan’s fault that he said something you don’t like on his personal instagram account? Also, it’s not as big of deal as you’re making it out to be. You just don’t like Juwan and want him fired, so just say, “I think the basketball team stinks under him.” Hundreds of thousands of people use that word in that manner every day. Are we just going to start firing everyone’s bosses?

Haven't even thought about the hoops team in a couple weeks, really. I miss Beilein. I was super excited about Juwan, after year one I was convinced he was going to do very well. His teams have been purely unwatchable to me the past two years. Even when winning, the style of play just doesn't appeal to me at all.

I miss John Beilein teams.

We’ve heard rumors of grades. Best guess he’s suspended for road games because that has the biggest impact on time away from classes?

It seems like it’s that… or he’s not allowed to leave the state?

pure, irresponsible speculation on my part.
