Yeah, what's up with that?

We were only playing in the Orange Bowl and it never even occured to me to go on 11W for any reason.  Ohio State could not be more irrelevant to me.

Hey, Rational Buckeye, why don't you watch the game tonight with us here on our open thread since we mean so much to you?

Don't worry, we'll treat you real nice.

Well worth it. I think he was as advertised. His historical stats to this point show that his defenses usually start getting really good after the first season. This bodes well for the future.

Not so sure about that. Granted it's only his 2nd year working with this OL, but Drevno had 3 senior offensive lineman and Mason Cole who's gonna be in the NFL soon. Despite that, our offensive line was just bad in many important games this year (Iowa, FSU, OSU). That's not to say he's a bad OL coach, it's just that what we saw this year was not a positive sign. Next year will be telling for what kind of OL coach Drevno is. Need a miracle to make a top OL next season.

None of those 3 seniors will be drafted. It doesn't really matter what year they are if the talent and athleticism isn't there. FSU has one of the top 3 d-lines/pass rushes in the country and they showed it last night. That's not so much on Drevno and his halftime adjustments to cover up that twist they were running really stopped them dead in their tracks for a while.

Sort of. More mobile QB, no Peppers certainly helped them.

But also, they basically had like 3 huge plays and the rest was terrible. FSU OL didn't really hold up very well. Francois was 9 of 27! Cook was 20 for 74 on runs besides the 71 yard play. They got 208 yards on the long busted pass, the cook wheel route (was it a wheel route?) and the 71 yard run on 3rd and fucking 22. The rest was 163 yards on 59 plays or about 2.6 yards/play. Those three big plays and the KO return killed us and the difference was that we had nothing similar on offense. Downfield passing game failed us at several points this season. OL is part of that but it is also Speight.

I mean Cook has skills so you have to accept that he makes plays, although it sure is aggravating when it is on 3rd and 22 when they are backed up in 4th quarter. The 92 yard pass and then the final pass over Lewis were the things that happened in this game that were not really problems at all during the season.

You're spot on Seattle, we were definitely watching the same game. They had some big plays but overall our defense made them look pretty pedestrian. I still think the TD that Lewis gave up was a product him him getting knocked the fuck out from the targeting before that. That's a play he's usually makes in his sleep.
