Having shitty fans that post hawt takes based on recency bias and the disappointment of losing a close game is how this happens season to season.

When said post is made after 1/5 of the season is played under a new coaching staff and without any statistical analysis it is even shittier.

That’s how this happens season to season.

You missed the last game where Wagner missed 4 shots and his career was over. Simpson is what he is a better passing Aaron Craft with a nice drive. I hate myself for saying it but there is is. When he is at the top of the key his defender is near the free throw line... and we are all hoping he doesnt shoot. I love Simpson you just cant be without a jumpshot. Here is to a DWalt late senior jumpshooting breakout.

The complete refusal of Howard to either switch on Pritchard or provide any backside help for Simpson was baffling, not to mention the last play.  Even if you think Simpson iso is the best option, why not have Teske in the game for rebounding?

I agree with you regarding backside help for Simpson.  However, I think that is a Brandon Johns issue.  He was in position on almost every Pritchard drive to provide help.  Perhaps we don't practice any help the helper on drives?? Or maybe Johns was just screwing up.

I think Johns was in the game for rebounding.  He is without a doubt a better offensive rebounder than Teske.

This was a tough choice for Juwan because Johns was extremely active on the offensive glass and continually kept possessions alive, but he's not a rim protector like Teske.  You could play both, but then you've got to sit one of Livers or Wagner, and both of them were hot in the second half.  Ultimately Johns had a tip at the end to win it but it rimmed out.

Two losses to top 10 teams and the other on the road to a team just outside the rankings?

Not time to start the mass suicide just yet.

It seems to me like the team is just not focused comfortable right now.  The cold shooting (and missed dunks) shows that something is off - which means it could be an easy fix.  The shots are there - just need to make them.

That’s absolute bullshit. Essentially three returning starters, all upperclassmen, including the leader of the team, a lockdown post player, and a 40% three-point shooter. Add that four sophomores from Beilein’s second-best recruiting class and a freshman who is going to play in the NBA. This team was supposed to be good. And they should be good, if they would just stop shooting themselves in the dick so much.

AP voters are stupid? Seniors Simpson and Teske and junior Livers are a really, really good core. Add a high-four star recruit and a bunch of highly ranked sophomores improving at all, and the team should easily be considered top-25. It makes no sense that they weren’t. So, no, the team wasn’t “supposed to be bad this year.”
