How does this happen from season to season??
December 14th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
He’s always been pretty limited on offense. But now he’s sloppy with ball, and his defensive prowess seems all but gone. More David D
Furthermore this was a shit OP. Johns is a beast
December 14th, 2019 at 2:40 PM ^
Brooks really hurt us today, We were up 3 late when he comes into the game and quickly we were down 3 directly because of awful play from him, I was yelling for JH to take him out and put,DDJ in, whom didn't get enough minutes today.
Teske has been nonexistent the last 2 games, we need way more from him.
December 14th, 2019 at 5:23 PM ^
Yeah that behind the back dribble turnover at the end was a back breaker. Send Eli to the coal mines

This was the turning point in our comeback. Brooks may have done enough during the offseason to warrant starter minutes but since the Team returned to the states, Brook’s play has diminished.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
This offense is too fast for him. He’s forcing turnovers bc he doesn’t have time to sit and think like under JB. And yes he got owned on the other side of the court today. Yikes
December 14th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
He had 11 assists and 4 turnovers, can't really complain about that.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:34 PM ^
Teams realized that Z can't do shit on offense other than pass it off so they don't bother doubling him at all or slagging off our shooters.
On defense, he's just too short.
Thus Michigan is regressing with Z at the helm. Need DDJ to become the primary sooner than later.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:41 PM ^
Teams realized that Z can't do shit on offense other than pass it off so they don't bother doubling him at all or slagging off our shooters.
That's been true his entire career.
The problem is that we don't have enough other guys who can create their own shot.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:48 PM ^
Seems like there is some hesitation on taking shots after Simpson passes, even if they are open.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
ding ding. that's the biggest problem. brooks is broken. he has passed up several open looks the past couple games. wagner has too. if you are open, you have to shoot the ball, else howard needs to sit them.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:35 PM ^
Having shitty fans that post hawt takes based on recency bias and the disappointment of losing a close game is how this happens season to season.
When said post is made after 1/5 of the season is played under a new coaching staff and without any statistical analysis it is even shittier.
That’s how this happens season to season.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
“Without any statistical analysis” followed by a claim the season is 55 games long.
Not a good look.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:45 PM ^
For jbrandimore to call out another poster is pretty funny.
Weren't you going to bet your life savings on Maryland beating us in football?
December 14th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
You missed the last game where Wagner missed 4 shots and his career was over. Simpson is what he is a better passing Aaron Craft with a nice drive. I hate myself for saying it but there is is. When he is at the top of the key his defender is near the free throw line... and we are all hoping he doesnt shoot. I love Simpson you just cant be without a jumpshot. Here is to a DWalt late senior jumpshooting breakout.
December 14th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
It makes me wonder if he is great at a structured offense like Beileins where he mentally goes from A to B to C with clear intent, but struggled with JHs more "free flowing" offense where he has to read and react.

WTF, Grandaddy?
December 14th, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
The complete refusal of Howard to either switch on Pritchard or provide any backside help for Simpson was baffling, not to mention the last play. Even if you think Simpson iso is the best option, why not have Teske in the game for rebounding?
December 14th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
Agreed. X had zero chance against Pritchard. He should have been on someone else or off the floor altogether.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
If X can't cover Pritchard, no one else is going to, either. Pritchard is really good and X is our best defensive guard. He held him in check most of the game but fell apart down the stretch.
You could question why Teske wasn't in there for rim protection though.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:12 PM ^
Teske was -11 today. Johns was +10. It was a calculated risk to choose between them . . . but if Johns makes that tip at the buzzer, it would've paid off.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
ya, but it's not teske's fault that livers was 0-6 in the first half and 5-6 in the second. that has nothing to do with johns/teske being out there.
December 14th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Both guys played in each half. It's not like we made the change at intermission.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:48 PM ^
Hey, thought I heard from someone that X is NBA ready?
December 14th, 2019 at 3:03 PM ^
I agree with you regarding backside help for Simpson. However, I think that is a Brandon Johns issue. He was in position on almost every Pritchard drive to provide help. Perhaps we don't practice any help the helper on drives?? Or maybe Johns was just screwing up.
I think Johns was in the game for rebounding. He is without a doubt a better offensive rebounder than Teske.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:09 PM ^
This was a tough choice for Juwan because Johns was extremely active on the offensive glass and continually kept possessions alive, but he's not a rim protector like Teske. You could play both, but then you've got to sit one of Livers or Wagner, and both of them were hot in the second half. Ultimately Johns had a tip at the end to win it but it rimmed out.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
You mean regression. Unless you're talking about him changing the subject.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:41 PM ^
Stupidity.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:45 PM ^
But I digress.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:05 PM ^
Solid.

Not only a piece of shit thread but an idiot too
December 15th, 2019 at 11:14 AM ^
This is the most accurate comment in this thread! Somebody buy the OP a dictionary.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
We will be fine. People like to forget that we were not supposed to be good this year.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:31 PM ^
Weve just lost 3 of 4 games ..we are NOT very good..
December 14th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
Two losses to top 10 teams and the other on the road to a team just outside the rankings?
Not time to start the mass suicide just yet.
It seems to me like the team is just not focused comfortable right now. The cold shooting (and missed dunks) shows that something is off - which means it could be an easy fix. The shots are there - just need to make them.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Well 3 of next 4 big ten games on the road, so we better figure it out
December 14th, 2019 at 2:31 PM ^
So which is it? We'll be fine or we aren't good?
December 14th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
That’s absolute bullshit. Essentially three returning starters, all upperclassmen, including the leader of the team, a lockdown post player, and a 40% three-point shooter. Add that four sophomores from Beilein’s second-best recruiting class and a freshman who is going to play in the NBA. This team was supposed to be good. And they should be good, if they would just stop shooting themselves in the dick so much.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:43 PM ^
yeah! instead of shooting it, let lebron ride it to a title...something something!
yeah!!1!
December 14th, 2019 at 2:55 PM ^
This team was supposed to be good
So why weren't we ranked in the preseason top 25?
December 14th, 2019 at 3:15 PM ^
AP voters are stupid? Seniors Simpson and Teske and junior Livers are a really, really good core. Add a high-four star recruit and a bunch of highly ranked sophomores improving at all, and the team should easily be considered top-25. It makes no sense that they weren’t. So, no, the team wasn’t “supposed to be bad this year.”
December 14th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
This board was supposed to be good. And they are not be good, if they would just stop shooting themselves in the dick so much.
December 14th, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
They are not "be good". Uh huh...
December 14th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
Just AWFUL all around Awful and cost us the game in multiple different ways...He played very selfish
December 14th, 2019 at 10:24 PM ^
Now there is a sound and insightful take. And the final straw was when Zavier made that last play be all about himself. He had choices from the minute the ball touched his hands and decided to play hero ball.
December 14th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
Solid word choice, informative post
