E(SEC)PN is all about the drama now, so they probably encourage it. I liked them when they were first at this; good sports reporting and didn’t take themselves seriously. Those old SportsCenter commercials were the bomb.

That's a company in trouble, in the midst of retrenchment, shedding the little niceties like thoughtful debate and real investigation in favor of the broad gesture and gossip. They rep the SEC, the biggest and most profitable college league. Always happy to see them undermined/shamed.

Didn’t say a word. I don’t think it would’ve been audible anyways over the boos but if it were any other conference team, you have to think he would’ve at least said congrats.
To think: At one point in my life, I had conference pride or at least routed for B1G teams vs other conferences but now I intently want everyone else to lose.

Texas fans booed the Big 12 commissioner when he was presenting them with the trophy a lot louder than Michigan fans booed Petitti. Petitti got lots of boos, but not like how some thought and hoped it would be.

Petitti ran away like a little mouse. He never took the microphone specifically so he wouldn't get booed. Yormark spoke for like 5 minutes. Of course he got booed worse.

The boos were extremely loud in person at the stadium! Not sure how that picked up on the television.

You could hear the boos just fine, including when he walked off the field while Harbaugh or someone from Michigan was talking. Of course the TV didn't show him slinking away so it seemed a little odd, except it was obvious what was happening.

That's not how it was in the stadium. The boos were so loud you couldn't hear what Klatt said after "Pettiti" (or maybe it was "Commissioner"; I don't recall). I had no idea what Pettiti did on the stage or whether he said anything until I got home and watched the recording.

TV has the ability to reduce the audio on the booing and from what I've heard from people who were there, they did.

It's actually worse than you think. He is intelligent. He started out as a newspaper columnist in Birmingham and was quite good. Then he got on radio. Then he got his own show which devolved into the Jerry Springer of Southern football with a collection of trailer park weirdos. Then ESPN became the SEC network and hired him. It is all a schtick. He knows what he is doing and is getting rich off of it. He's not stupid, he has chosen to be a clown and professional troll. And he gets lots of attention and compensation for it.

Yeah, this is what people have to understand about Finebaum. He is doing this on purpose. He is a troll. I have heard him talk many times, and he’s knowledgeable when he’s not putting on a show, he’s just clearly decided that trolling and being disingenuous is the way to stay employed at ESPN, and unfortunately, he’s clearly correct.
I’ve stopped, listening to him, because he clearly has no integrity. It’s one thing to disagree with people, but another to waste time on people who are saying things that are inflammatory just to bait people.

On a separate note, I just saw a segment on BTN with Revsine, Auerbach, Griffith, and DiNardo. They were discussing the 12 team playoff system. DiNardo lost his effing mind about everything, especially that the best Group of 5 team was going to be included. The other three were looking at him like he has two heads. He should be off TV, or go to ESPN where they want insane ranting.
