Combing of coaches' phones has begun; NCAA interviewing M staff today

From Sam Webb's latest update ($): "I was told the combing of at least some coaches' phones has started, so the hunt is underway to see whether there was any involvement beyond Stalions himself."

In addition, Nicole Auerbach tweeted that "NCAA investigators interviewed members of the Michigan football staff today, a source confirms to @TheAthletic."

Also, Isaiah Hole says that there is an established network within the B1G whereby the designated sign-stealers on each team trade with their friendly counterparts on other teams (a remarkable development that I wasn't aware of).

I actually spoke to a Big Ten source, who gave me a quote — if other people are out there sharing anonymous quotes and these ESPN and SI articles, I can too. So, here is what I learned, ‘Every Sunday, coaches and support staff with mutual connections throughout the conference contact each other to trade not just schematic notes, but also to trade signals. Some of the top teams who consistently trade signals and have very accurate information on common opponents are Michigan, Rutgers, Ohio State, Indiana, and Purdue. Other teams who are decent at it and would always look to trade are Illinois, Northwestern, Maryland, Minnesota, and Penn State. Wisconsin was oblivious to it but is likely no longer with the new staff. Michigan State, Iowa, and Nebraska appear to be oblivious and out of the loop.’

how awesome would it be if once all this investigating was done and the dust settles, the only thing to come of it was a sanction on OSU for paying a firm to investigate Michigan

i mean, that quote would be fairly easy to prove or disprove

sounds like a kid complaining to his mom his brother snuck a cookie from the cookie jar while he’s chewing on one he snuck from the cookie jar

You could essentially create a PAC to achieve this. Just like in politics, it’s all about the dark money.

This was paid by someone/ entity with an agenda against M/ Harbaugh. It’s just so bizarre.

as I said yesterday in a thread, I would do whatever I could, if I’m someone with standing, to get the ‘investigation firm’ in court to determine who paid them. That’s the story.

If the NCAA is looking at their sideline video IN GAME and trying to figure out how they should punish US then its time to burn it all down.

Brian is right in that we "shouldnt" get punished with much. The problem is you would be putting faith in a fair and balanced NCAA.

We have had more issues with the NCAA during our one true Championship hunt than Bama has had in 15 years of recruiting the number 1 or 2 class. Come on. NCAA you reign is near an end.

The next big "bombshell" will be that one day, Jim Harbaugh texted Connor Stallions to tell him that he was taking the entire staff to The Brown Jug for burgers.

If that's the case, then why is the national press wasting everyone's time with this? Why is the NCAA even in Ann Arbor interviewing anyone?

Not even close. The national press, the NCAA, etc. have immense reach and powers, no matter how serious someone may or may not take them. People should laugh it up at their own risk. This debacle is serious to some people who can't be dismissed and are highly influential and listened to seriously by a number of people.

I'll feel free to laugh when its become obvious that this bullshit results in mostly nothingburgers, the idiots involved in this thing and their ideas are rejected by reasonable people, and regardless of what happens to the bad actors the good actors get through it in some form of unscathed and recognized as having the character they truly do.

I'm seeing talk on the internet that some are thinking Stalions information on Tennessee last year may have been sent to South Carolina, and that's why South Carolina blew out Tennessee 63-38. Possible I suppose.

It’s possible Stallions is behind every win in college football for the last few decades. Some are saying he may be source of Alabama’s run, Clemson’s improbable rise to power, OSUs big ten dominance for a good while, Lincoln Riley’s secret weapon, and  the reason Jimbo Fisher can seem to beat anyone despite buying entire rosters of elite talent

If he was able to manipulate the entire CFB landscape with a $15K investment, then every analyst in every program should be fired now.  They are doing it wrong.  Clearly this isn't the case, but the critics can't decide if he is an evil mastermind or the dumbest criminal of all time.  Often they want both to be true, whenever it suits their narrative.
