I think Warde and the athletic department probably had a hand in hiring the coaches and making sure we had enough money for assistants for the football team, yes.  I do not give them "all the credit", but you can be damn sure if we lost this bidding war on Jean-Mary or missed on some of the other hires, Warde would be the first person that would get blamed here.

I'm sorry if that's "yucky" to you.  It's the truth.

I'll give credit and love to Sherrone for getting this done, and the athletic department for assisting Sherrone.  I don't think that should be a controversial opinion, but it probably will be because people have to find the negatives in any situation and bitch about something, no matter how great the news.

Thank you for stating the obvious. All of the Warde hate has become so boring.

I'm neutral on the guy. I have no experience running an athletic department or even running a business with the type of revenue that is generated by the Michigan athletic department.

Yet, because I may not like a coach leaving or have no firm plan to make an 18 y.o. athlete an instant millionaire to fulfill my emotional need to never see the Wolverines lose a football, basketball, or hockey game doesn't mean I have to perpetuate his excoriation and demand his dismissal.

Manuel is blamed sometimes for things that are probably out of his control, but you don't have to be an MSU or OSU troll to be concerned that 1) Harbaugh and Beilein, two elite coaches he inherited,  both reportedly had poor relationships with him and 2) the basketball program has utterly collapsed and may be looking for a new coach soon.  To date Manuel has almost exclusively gone for easy hiring decisions - either promoting assistants or hiring outsiders with Michigan ties - but that's not going to be an option this time around.  Do you have faith he'll get it right?

Well I haven’t heard anything about Beilein not getting along with Warde, but in regards to Harbaugh… he is pretty notorious for not getting along with people. I think we have a large enough view of Harbaugh’s career in the spotlight to know that any issues in his relationship with Warde are probably not one-sided in origin.

As for your second point, that’s kinda what every AD does… hire guys with ties to the program, as those are the guys who are most likely to want to be there and be invested. The assistants that he has hired were pretty much no brainers that were completely endorsed by their predecessor. Nothing about Warde’s coaching hire decisions at this point have given anyone any reason to not have faith that he will get it right.

What exactly did Warde do to make this happen?  He allocated budget for assistant coaches?  What college football program doesn't have a budget for paying assistant coaches?  If I recall correctly, Warde himself was talking about the size of the pool for assistant coach salaries.  I'm pretty sure Sherrone had to identify and evaluate candidates and convince them to sign up.

Is this the last spot we need to fill? I believe it is 10 assistant/coordinator roles

1. Wink

2. Campbell

3. Brown

4. Newsome

5. Casula

6. Bellamy

7. Hart (?)

8. Jean-Mary

9. Adegoke

10. Scruggs

The exact question I was thinking of.

It seems like the coaching staff may be complete - and, they can begin focusing on the Spring Practice schedule.

Perhaps a few analysts will come over to the staff.  And, it would be wonderful if a Ravens “D” analyst decided to join the staff for a season or two.

I don't think SF would take Wink. Seems like they will promote from within or get Vrabel. Really seems like Hart wants a HC role, and probably needs to take an OC role to get there. I'm really surprised Indiana didn't hire him as head coach since he was the associate head coach there before he came here. I don't see a clear path for him to move up from the RB coach role here, but would love for him to stay.

I haven't heard of any relationship issues between Hart and Moore.  I think Hart is just a really ambitious (and talented) guy who wants his shot as a HC somewhere.  He's probably going to need to be an OC at some point first, and that' difficult when we have Moore (also a young guy) as coach.

As much as I love Hart, he probably needs to move to another program if he wants to move up.  Many of us have faced similar roadblocks in our careers and lateral moves are the way around this.

This is a new staff honeymoon, but Moore seems to have gotten some good coaches.  Scruggs, Jean-Mary feel like they are going to be all-star recruiters and coaches and you have to figure Adegoke being in his 20s will be a good recruiter too.  Throw in Bellamy's Michigan HS connections, even though he is a WR coach, and any deficiency Wink has in recruiting seems like it will be taken care of.   Maybe we get a couple of portal dudes from TN or WI too.
