I personally am less worried…

I personally am less worried about this with Moore as HC - I am sure he will have his fingerprints all over the gameplan and look of the offense, much like Harbaugh did. (but it sure would make things easier if Campbell ends up being really good at OCing)

You have to think though…

You have to think though this is the best win now NFL situation of all the available jobs this year (and probably the last couple? Though the Vikings would have been better maybe)

Could be setting myself up…

Could be setting myself up for an Old Takes Exposed scene here, but from what I know NFL and college S&C programs are like night and day different.
from what I’ve gathered I don’t know if Herbert’s style would work as well and don’t think his preference would be NFL. It’s not as linear a promotion as other more coaching oriented  jobs

Man I hope he wins. He’s got…

Man I hope he wins. He’s got Herbert, some good weapons, good picks… thanks Jim, go get a mf super bowl

Any word on Jahmal Banks,…

Any word on Jahmal Banks, the 6-4 WR from Wake Forest that visited? Getting a guy with his level of production would alleviate concerns/provide a solid floor for the outside guys...

*Black Pit Of Negative Possible Off-field Sanctions And Potential Postseason Ban Expectations

I had the thought on…

I had the thought on Saturday that the only arguable missing piece to make this offense a true juggernaut is Xavier Worthy (or comparable player, but Worthy's an easy choice for reasons)

Interesting that we pivoted…

Interesting that we pivoted the Texas game to be home in 2024, and now its looking like I bet they wished it was flipped again.

2027 now 6 home games and 2024 has 8. Usually from what I remember they want 7 each year.

Same thing now with the OU series and 25/26

I don't necessarily want to…

I don't necessarily want to threadjack here but I am not sure this is topic-worthy for the board:

I know Seth has posted guides in the past to this, but what do people think is the optimal time to purchase a single-game ticket to The Game this year? Now? Mid-year? Scalp 10 mins before kickoff?

For whatever this is worth,…

For whatever this is worth, this is more or less the same formula people use to calculate "strokes gained" in golf for putting - make a 3 footer that is 97%, youve gained 0.03 shots on the field. Make a 60 footer that averages 2.30 putts from there, you gained 1.30 shots on the field. Etc etc.

Applying this to kicking is really cool - thanks Seth!

Caleb Love is here to put…

Caleb Love is here to put shots up (ignoring efficiency or lack there of) and this team desperately needs anyone who can create so on the surface I like this just considering where the roster was and is now. Is he going to win us a title? no. But we need a body whos willing to shoot

Tarris Reed season!

Tarris Reed season!

Sam also put one in for Ohio…

Sam also put one in for Ohio 3 star OT Ben Roebuck (who has had a few Michigan Crystal Balls already).

I may have missed it on the board but we got a couple predictions go our way for Mekhai White last week, a 3 star WR from Virginia.

In total we have 10 uncommitted 2024 prospects with Michigan crystal balls in for them.

Kentucky is seemingly in on…

Kentucky is seemingly in on every single Detroit (and honestly MI/OH) area prospect these days. I understand the strategy from an institutional standpoint of not wanting to waste resources on recruiting battles between them and UGA/Auburn/Tennessee etc, but I was wondering, is there a specific assistant(s) that is leading this, or that their hiring has coincided with this push north?

I might be more (or should i…

I might be more (or should i say Moore) excited about and the Sophomore Leap than anyone else on the team. To show what he showed last season as a true freshman...

I had a friend recently…

I had a friend recently transfer to an SEC school to be a third string QB because he wanted to eventually become a coach/do a Grad Assistant program. He actually ended up getting time this year due to injuries, but was never in the school's long term plans - he could have transferred down and been a starter at a high-level FCS or even low low G5 school, but opted for his future over playing time.

I would imagine this situation is similar to that.

I think you can pen…

I think you can pen Henderson in, the other two I agree might not start

Dang, I really thought…

Dang, I really thought Crippen was going to be That Guy, considering the staff was cool with him before Olu became a thing.

i think both guards probably leaving (go get paid boys, thanks for the two amazing years), could Nugent or Crippen be a candidate to play guard next year?

Regardless of whether this…

Regardless of whether this particular recruit sticks, this is a great sign for long term program recruiting. Being in on guys like this early helps raise the profile and get the name out more in certain areas of the country's recruiting circle for the '24, '25, and '26 cycles. More good players interested is a good thing!

I mean, you can't kid…

I mean, you can't kid yourself - those are three really A-tier top options for a guy transferring from Coastal Carolina. I know we are biased but it's not like the list is "Michigan, MTSU, Akron"

Unsure if this is thread…

Unsure if this is thread-worthy, but Michigan just offered a transfer TE from Cal Poly Josh Cuevas

It is nice to see us…

It is nice to see us rounding out the '23 class. I am hopeful we can get 2-3 last second flips like we did last season to really finish this thing off. However.....

I can't help but keep looking at 2024... that class has the potential to be really special. Just chock full of 4 stars in that 75-150 range nationally, sprinkle in a little Jadyn Davis.... oh my

I think it's funny people in…

I think it's funny people in this thread think that is a "bad" experience... Have you never been to an away game at a... NFL, MLB, heck, even an away MLS game?

If you go to an away game and end up with 3-4 "hey, f you, guy"s, then that is a huge win/par for the course. People in this thread need to travel more I think

Eh, this has some new…

Eh, this has some new information.

Cade details that he suffered a knee injury mid-season last year, and another serious one this year. I could be off base but that was never reported?

I take way more issue with the intentional “not knowing” of what social medias are called. It’s a stale bit, and they’ve been out for 10 years.

Correct, yeah, they are…

Correct, yeah, they are really good, definitely a top 10 overall team in the state, probably top 4 or 5. They lost by just 7 to Buford, who is the #2 team in the nation (I think 4 straight state titles) and has a top RB committed to bama and the #2 overall player in the composite in '24 KJ Bolden. I think North Cobb would be in that 40-60 range nationally.

Not directly, no. That…

Not directly, no. That Darius Taylor is currently hanging around College Station looking for a new job

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darius_Taylor

I haven't heard anything…

I haven't heard anything outright about his status at Michigan, but I did see/hear he is having a less than stellar senior season at North Cobb. They are a very good HS team (undefeated in region, lost to Buford by only 7!) and it seems like Hall is splitting/not getting the lions share of carries.

Reading between the lines it would seem that M is looking to flip someone, and if they can, give Hall the firm handshake, good luck at Georgia Tech. *this of course is assuming that M is only taking 2 RBs this year, which would make sense.

I realllyyy hate that we…

I realllyyy hate that we dropped UCLA this year and next year. I feel like when this was announced people celebrated it, because the easiest path to the playoff was not losing an OOC game, just simply scheduling a cupcake.

Maybe I am wrong, but it feels like the the conventional thought on this with regards to the committee has swung back the other direction, where playing a tough OOC is rewarded and a loss to a good team in that scenario being overlooked. (I guess I am basing this off of scenarios I have seen pitting a hypothetical 11-1 Michigan (with a loss to OSU) against other 11-1 teams with a similarly "good" loss, and the needle going to those teams because of good OOC scheduling.

It would have been nice to replace the UCLA game with someone like a BYU or something, just to provide a little more oomph to the schedule. Oh well.

Spoken like someone who's…

Spoken like someone who's never been to the Georgia / Florida game...

I'm all for campus games but to say that the WLOCP isn't for the students is just ignorant of what goes on and how that game works. It is the highlight of many students year.

I personally would probably…

I personally would probably take Jordan Addison over Palmer but maybe I am falling victim to the hype machine

Our best season in 24 years…

Our best season in 24 years literally translated to recruiting success last november/december. Moore and Clemons are direct results of our year last year.

win 11+ games again this year and you'll see the gains in the '24, '25, '26 classes.

I have a ton of faith in…

I have a ton of faith in Harbaugh to be able to scheme up game plans to win games, but I have ALWAYS been wary of the "we are saving this for later" approach on offense, because in the last ~15 years of Michigan football the scheme adjustment we were supposedly setting up to unleash in the big games just didn't happen (more often than not, minus one or two cool but individual plays).

Doesnt mean there haven't been masterful game plans (for some reason the one I always think back to is the OKorn OSU loss where Harbaugh had his TE army popping up wide open all over the field we just couldn't hit them), and maybe this is just a selective memory issue, but I feel like all the times I have heard "oh just wait until they use x to do y, z, etc", it didn't happen to the extent/success the fanbase/blog hoped.

(That said I think we can beat Frames with execution alone)

This comment sent me down…

This comment sent me down the Wikipedia rabbit hole where I discovered that Jim McElwain currently lives in a barn:

The McElwains' living arrangements at Jim's current post at Central Michigan are unique; they live in a barn a few miles from campus. Shortly after McElwain was hired, he attended a party at the home of the athletic director that was attended by many of the program's biggest donors, among them Chuck McGuirk, the namesake of CMU's basketball arena. When McGuirk asked the McElwains where they planned to live, they told him that they would like to live in a barn. Unknown to the McElwains at the time, McGuirk had purchased a farm a few miles from campus several years earlier that included a 6,000-square-foot barn, and he had thought about building living quarters on the lower level. The McElwains envisioned the barn as a meeting space for large groups in addition to a living space. When they visited the barn, they were sold on its potential, and McGuirk spearheaded the conversion of the barn into a combined home and meeting space

Would still love to see us…

Would still love to see us play one small school as a pure road game not over Thanksgiving or Christmas Break. I will die on the take that every school should do one of these a year, even though yes they are more likely to lose them.

When was the last time we had a game like that? @Bradley in 2012-13?

I think I may have…

I think I may have misinterpreted what you said, I was referring to baseball, not softball summer season, my bad.

The baseball players ive talked to (including several Michigan players) want the summer to train and go play wood bat leagues in an attempt to get drafted/more scouts look at them.

Interested to hear your…

Interested to hear your complete thoughts on the "summer season", because from talking to current/former college players, they all almost universally hate that idea, say it would bad for player development, and bad for program revenues...

As a Davidson grad, I will…

As a Davidson grad, I will be following Michigan baseball a little closer this year... go Cats!!!

I was ready to dismiss this…

I was ready to dismiss this as a 2k follower nobody that I had never heard of but apparently she works for NFL Radio and has 275k+ followers on Twitter.

That said, following =/= accuracy and sources.

I’ve become over the years a…

I’ve become over the years a big believer in the David Hale school of Recruiting Matters. Yes there’s obviously exceptions but when you get in games against the UGAs Of the world, you can’t have any deficiencies (or be so good in one aspect, like scoring points, it doesn’t matter)

hale sent a tweet earlier in the game highlighting us missing out on DL and DB recruits that would have helped, and I agree fully. UGA is good enough to take a strength (our edge) and say “well we’ll just make their less good DTs make plays”

Lot of rambling here to say, if you don’t have a massive advantage on one entire side of the ball, you need to be solid in ALL position groups. This d was good enough to get where they got but got exposed in the back and up the gut. All this means, and I think we have some coming in, recruit better, develop better, etc. will Johnson and co come on down!

All jokes aside I could…

All jokes aside I could envision a situation where he takes 1 or 2 years at QB here and then, pending results, depth chart, etc, either transfers out or switches positions (or continues to play QB).

We have seen the benefit of a running qb to even out numbers in the run game, and I would love to see Orji in a "Belldozer" short yardage package type role. I could be wrong but we did something similar with Gentry where he was a QB his first year, saw the writing on the wall, and made the change.

I have never understood this…

I have never understood this take from the Michigan fanbase, or for that matter, any of the "how could [player x] choose any school other than Michigan, Michigan is perfect etc etc etc"

Especially in terms of Lexington and Knoxville... have any of y'all actually been there for a gameday? Partied there? It's not like these are hole in the wall towns in rural Alberta. These are fun places with rabid fanbases. Michigan has a lot going for it but y'all need to put yourselves in the shoes of 17/18 year olds not deeply analytical 45 year olds who make career decisions based on "how has the success of my position group translated to the next level" rather than "how attractive the girls were at that club"

Is Arizona good? Probably!

Is Arizona good? Probably!

Are we good right now? Nope!

is there a chance we are VERY good come March and April of 2022? Abso-freakin-lutely. This, for better or for worse, is a Kentucky team.

Injury tent or not for Cade,…

Injury tent or not for Cade, I liked that JJ got a full drive to establish a rhythm - it can't be easy to constantly sub in and out like that for just one play at a time. The arm talent is there, but every play can't be a Johnny Manziel scramble around type play... I like the take about how reps will iron this out. More film to work with, etc.

It is not a small school…

It is not a small school issue, in fact, its the opposite. McEachern plays in Georgia's AAAAAAA division, which is the biggest school classification.

Perhaps a situation where they were so stacked he didn't get a high amount of targets until his senior year.

Wake up babe, UFR is up

Wake up babe, UFR is up

DPJ seemingly had not been…

DPJ seemingly had not been coached to get rid of the ball if his passing option was not there.

I was under the assumption that on a play like that, the WR (or whoever) is not allowed to throw the ball away out of bounds like a QB is able to do when that far outside of the pocket
