That would be great but if Alabama gets there is another way we wouldn't geta match up with Alabama in the 1st game: If FSU is out because of their problem with key player availability (QB) then Michigan slides down to 2 because of key player availability (Zak) and apparent line problems that might have resulted. Alabama is in for beating Georgia (the top rated team and 3 time defending champion) (the most recent event) and jumps to 1. Texas has to be in because they beat Alabama but it was not recent (1st game of the season) so they are #4. That lets them decide who is better now on the playing field.

Voila! Matches are:

Alabama v Texas

Michigan v Washington

I loathe the rose bowl (sorry I've never had any loyalty to that BS tradition wherein we vied for the chance to go play a team from the west coast on the west coast) BUT I am so over playing southern (Texas on east) teams in the south. It's BS. And Washington is at least a pretty hefty drive. So I am hoping for the rose bowl also. Does the #1 team choose?

I wanna see the playoffs in some of the domes up north for once.

Klatt said it at the end. He was annoying as hell today. He actually had UM, Washington and Bama firmly in with fourth spot up for debate. He was basically saying how can we leave out SEC champion.

This is why I don't get people who clamor over him here. The dude is going to tote party line. I am sure he will have his episode where he will spin it on why he is right and someone will post it here.

I am just disappointed that he didn't have anything good to say about going undefeated. FSU D played their asses off today. Hats off to them.

Agree. As I recall it mostly came down to that philosophical question--most deserving team or best team. I think they all agreed FSU deserved it more but they wanted to see the best teams. I do think there is an argument to be made they we have all been brainwashed--partially by reality ($$$) unfortunately-that the dominant SEC teams really are that good, really are the best. But someone's gotta beat them to prove that wrong.

People will underestimate FSU because of the QB situation but I will say this, if that ends being the matchup UM has got to raise both the offensive execution level and playcalling because that FSU defense is legit. Pass pro would be a concern against their front. Their defense is definitely playoff worthy, that is unquestionable.

I can’t stand all the SEC slappies trying to force Alabama in at the expense of FSU. That’s just bs. They are a 13-0 ACC conference champion that beat LSU for good measure.

Bamas second best win was LSU

FSUs second best win was LSU

BAMA lost by 2 scores at home

FSU is undefeated

The committee had FSU 4 spots ahead of Bama yesterday. What in the actual fuck could FSU have done while winning an ACC championship to go backwards in the ranking while also passing Georgia?

No the playoff committee made their bed last week making FSU 4 spots better than Bama. You pull them back in a win and jump bama 4 spots in one week? If you do that then you lied last week.

"It is best," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said on Tuesday. "Most deserving is not anything in the committee's lexicon. They are to rank the best teams in order, and that's what they do. Just keep that word in mind, best teams."

Nobody on this blog thinks FSU is better than Bama. There is no way FSU gets in over Bama. And Bama doesn’t get in over Texas.

They are throwing that word best around in an attempt to argue for Bama. But I'm sorry, not one person outside of Ohio thought Cincinnati was one of the four best two years ago. They got in based on their record being deserving. Best is record which is evidence-based. The eye test is bullshit which leads people to predict Oregon stomping Washington on Friday for example.

One is based on evidence which leads to conclusions. The other is pure hypothetical and conjecture.

I think Bama is shit. They played horrible against Auburn. Auburn shit the bed. Can they beat UM? Sure. Anyone quality team can beat another quality team.

I say Georgia will beat Bama 4 out of 5 times if they are healthy. So why not put them in there over Bama.

FSU have some good wins. Bama has one great win and lost to another good team. FSU is undefeated. That should mean something.

Yeah if we are throwing around subjectivity I personally believe that despite losing the game today Georgia is a better team than Alabama and would beat them more times than not in a five game scenero. But that shouldn't matter because they lost today, it's black and white. Same way that is black and white that FSU has a zero in the loss column.

Wait a second. Wait just one second. Is Alabama not better than FSU if they lose close to Georgia today? I mean if we know for sure Alabama is better that outcome doesnt matter right? Oh wins and losses matter? Like a loss at home by two scores that matter now? Or no? Oh rough games throughout your season determines who is good? Like rough wins over USF and Auburn? Come on we HAVE to stop carrying the SECs water for them. Bamas loss is worse than OSUs by a mile, should they be in?
