Without Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama is a different team. Sure, that Alabama defense is deserving - but with the possibility of their star player being out, you can't judge them off of anything else they did all year.

No, that argument is BS. Alabama's defense is much more than one player, and so is Florida State's offense. If you're not punishing Bama for their best defensive player being injured, how are you punishing Florida for their best offensive player being injured?

I think people have the “guts” scenario reversed. The question isn’t does the committee have the guts to leave out Alabama, it’s does the committee have the guts to break precedent by leaving out an undefeated P5 conference champ in favor of a one-loss P5 conference champ because they believe the latter is better?

How long do we have to watch sports to eventually come to the conclusion that results on the field matter more than who we think is better.  A few days ago everyone thought Oregon was double digits better Washington and Georgia was better than Bama.  Everyone “thought” Bama would blow Auburn out.  We don’t know shit

Here's the thing. I hate the BCS/Playoff with a passion. It has helped ruin college football, devaluing and debasing the records and accomplishments of every team but one each season.

So where would we be if I could waive my hand and make it all go away?

#1 Michigan vs #2 Washington for the unanimous top ranking and mythical national title in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.

IMO it isn’t really a nightmare scenario for the cfp (only if one believes the sec this year is all that).

The sec list it’s two biggest ooc games, to Texas and to FSU. The sec also lost the overwhelming majority of ooc games against the other p5 conferences.

The sec’s biggest ooc win was Kentucky over Louisville.

The sec ranked teams are also very questionable as to where they are ranked, especially Tennessee (should not be close to being ranked), but also Missouri and ole miss. The conference’s overall strength is not what it has been in the past, but they are getting the benefit of past perceptions and teams ranked higher than they should have been.

The sec should absolutely be left out of the playoffs this year.
