Carl Grapentine Possible Health Incident at The Game?

I went to The Game on Saturday and was walking out of the stadium and past a parked ambulance. A man with UM credentials who looked just like Carl Grapentine had a heavily bandaged head but was conscious and was being loaded into the ambulance. Obviously I didn’t stop anyone to ask what was going on, but it struck me that this man might’ve been Mr. Grapentine. He announced our band at halftime so I know he was in the stadium during the game. Does anybody have any information about this? I don’t want to invade the man’s privacy if it was him, but obviously myself and everyone here would love some reassurance that he’s doing ok if that was in fact him.

Not trying to start rumors, just looking to see if anyone can corroborate what I saw.

Protip: If you have to ask “is this appropriate to post,” the answer is “no.”  If you have to follow up with “I’m not trying to start rumors,” that goes double.

Hey. Glad I saw thls.

Yes, that was me. After Donovan Edwards' second TD, I headed for the elevators. Upon exiting, my feet tangled with someone in the crowded elevator, I lost balance, and fell into a concrete wall hitting my head just above my eye. Blood gushed everywhere! The stadium 1st Aid people patched me up and sent me to the hospital. I got stitches and, as the old joke goes, scans of my head showed nothing! After a few hours they sent me home. Today my eye is swollen shut and I have various aches and pains. But hey...we crushed Ohio State! See you in Indianapolis...even with one eye.

I was certain this was going to have a “Let’s solve this like men” quote and “you should have seen the dude in red after Carl finished with him!”.

But glad you are ok!   You help make Michigan football great!

Carl - One quick question. Did this happen when you stepped out of the elevator into a tunnel? Those things are dangerous, you know.

I showed this post to my wife (class of '91, trumpet player in the marching band) and she sends you her best wishes, as do I.

As a former drumline member, I'm very happy to hear you are OK!

When you were elevated from MMB work to full stadium work, it felt like the most obvious and correct choice possible. Thank you for all of your great work, and get well soon!
