Have you seen Clemson Bama OSU and PSU all play. If so you would know one of the four mentioned teams does not belong with the other three. Three of those teams could easily be in the CFP the other doesnt belong or have a chance to make it. I will let you try to figure it out

Clemson’s best win is A&M...PSU’s is at Iowa. A&M has a worse record but their losses are to Bama, Clemson and Auburn. I think A&M would spank Iowa. Clemson played a tight one against Carolina on the road and PSU hung on to beat Pitt. Clemson didn’t look good against UNC, but this notion that they haven’t played well all year is getting silly. They are still one of the best teams in the country.

A & M has lost to the only good teams they've played.  In other words, we may not know their floor, but we certainly know their ceiling.  It seems that only SEC teams get credit for losing.  Once again...bias.  Clemson's schedule is Charmin-soft.  We won't have any idea how good they are until the playoff, assuming they get in.

I've watched them all play.  I saw Clemson almost lose to UNC.  I've watched the other three blow out bad teams.  Who cares how great they look against overmatched football teams?  Did Michigan suddenly become dominant because it blew out Rutgers?  Did it go from great, to bad, to good during the course of the Illinois game?  A team is only as good as the teams they beat.  That's why strength of schedule should be the primary component the committee looks at.  Anything else is simple bias.

Absolutely absurd that Clemson jumped OSU. Anyone using an unbiased perspective knows that.  Good thing these media members don’t vote in CFP rankings... Although the CFP rankings often mirror the other polls. Based strictly on performance this season I’d rank them

1) LSU

2a) Alabama

2b) OSU

4) Oklahoma

5) Wisconsin

I don't know. Clemson just completely dominated Florida St in every way. And I saw the Ohio St vs Michigan St game. Ohio St didn't look as powerful as I thought they would against them. I don't like Clemson either. But they probably should be ranked higher than Ohio St. It would be a great game to watch them play though.

Watching Cajun Hoke enjoy his new toy (that insane offense) made me incredibly sad.

I thought that would be us this year, and it would be matched with a young but ascending defense.

I think LSU has some issues on the defensive side of the ball that Bama, OSU or Clemson could expose, but no team ever looks perfect.

Crazy that Cajun Hoke managedd to put together a better offensive staff than Harbaugh.  Would have never bet on that one.

Oh let's go. My local Ben Franklin has a deal where clearance yarn gets an additional X cents off (where X=Michigan's ranking .. I don't think the manager "gets" polling). This isn't 16¢ off your entire order, mind you. I'm talking per skein.

Minnesota is #20.  Their six wins are against an FCS team (South Dakota St), Fresno State, Georgia Southern, Purdue, Illinois and Nebraska - and the first four of these were one-score games.  How high do you think they should be ranked?

Still not buying the LSU hype, but they will get a chance to prove it vs Alabama. They've beat a Texas team that could easily lose another 2-3 games and they could never totally put away so-so Florida team. Florida's win over Auburn was only notable b/c Auburn beat an vastly overrated Oregon team. Typical SEC circle jerk.

The thing is Florida was putting up numbers on them until they shot themselves in the foot.

Usually highly-ranked teams who's defenses give up big points are pretenders.

Not saying for certain, but the Alabama game will be telling.

Also, there's far too few CFB games in general, and, too few that cross conferences so the whole "rankings" thing has always been BS. What's worse it absolutely misleads the general audience, but it does sell "must-see" TV and hype, so it will never be done away with.

Iowa is getting a lot of love. This PSU game is huge for Michigan. It’s a great opportunity to take down a highly ranked conference rival on the road at night.

This can't be real. Where's Texas A&M?

No movement for us sounds about right. We did win, but didn't look that impressive either. You can say PSU is overrated, but they've taken care of business and the win @ Iowa might be the most impressive win any of the undefeated top 10 teams have (other than LSU). They've got tough games coming up and they'll either prove themselves or get smoked and lose their ranking.

I think PSU and Michigan are evenly matched.

I watched them vs Iowa - good D inept offense like us.

However our turnover issues and playing on the road at night probably swings the arrow to them.

It doesn't matter. Michigan in no way deserves to be ranked No. 16 at 5-1.

Something is really off with Michigan this year. I don't think it's the coaching anymore.

I think it's the players.  The fumbles. The half-assed effort on blocks by OL and the WRs. Stupid drive-killing penalties. Missed field goals. Not a good look after 6 games.

Even Shea's demeanor and effort level indicates he is either hurt/injured or really doesn't want to be there anymore. He's not confident in his throws and reads, which I guess we should expect since "new coordinator, new offense" excuse (again) second year in a row.

Got to enjoy the 5-1 right now, because it's going to be 7-5 by the time its over.

I don't see Michigan being able to run the ball versus Penn State next week at all.  Which leaves Michigan to rely once again on Shea Patterson's decision making and the WRs to sustain drives and keep Don Brown's defense off the field.  Not going to happen.

It think the scoring will be low and it will be a close game for a time.  But 3 and outs will ensure Brown's defense tires and gets exposed.  If it got down to a FG to win it, we have Wild Thing or Moody, neither of whom is money.

Not a good feeling.

Ask yourself this question, who would NOT want to play against Michigan right now?

I can't think of anyone. Even Illinois probably things they could take Michigan down in a second game with them. They only trailed by 3 in the 4th quarter!

Michigan is simply not a dominant, intimidating opponent unless you are perennial college football cellar dweller.

If you have a decent, average program, then you are thinking "yeah, we can take these guys". And you're probably right.

And there isn't a single opponent on Michigan's remaining schedule who can't take the Wolverines downtown with varying degrees of ease. Mainly because the Michigan offense doesn't move the ball consistently against average defenses. Michigan's defense is improving though, which is good to see.

Disagree. Who doesn't want to see HARBAUGH AWAY Michigan right now? That's the key.

We play uninspired, turtling, garbage football - mainly on offense - on the road in the Harbaugh era. Makes the majority of the fan base furious. That's the issue.

In the big house, versus non OSU, we are a tough out. It is the middling, pathetic road performances that signal we don't have the "swag" and focus of an elite or even great program right now.
