If that is his real number you should take that down.
(I already left a voicemail so we are good).

Keon "Mike Jones" Sabb!
February 16th, 2024 at 12:23 PM ^
Is that their 867-5309?
February 16th, 2024 at 12:41 PM ^
Jenny's number transcends generations!
February 16th, 2024 at 9:48 AM ^
Not sure if this is needed this time....
February 16th, 2024 at 9:53 AM ^
I am wondering if I should tell my employer that I am taking a job coaching at Michigan, just so that I can get a big raise. It seemed to work for so many of our coaching targets.
Seriously though, this is a great hire. Hopefully he can recruit Sabb to stay.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:00 AM ^
I'll try that with my boss today and report back with my findings.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:21 AM ^
tried it with my boss. Now he's asking for tickets and I'm screwed :)
February 16th, 2024 at 9:53 AM ^
Hopefully this coach can convince Sabb to join back with the Maize and Blue.
February 16th, 2024 at 9:59 AM ^
For realsies?
February 16th, 2024 at 10:01 AM ^
Maybe he can get on the phone with Keon Sabb and let him know that he's a pretty cool dude too.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:02 AM ^
Obviously being a DC at a place like Louisiana isn't the same as at Michigan, but I do like that he has prior DC experience.
Feels like it would be a smoother transition from Wink to Morgan than from Wink to Clink or Elston (who did not have play calling experience) whenever that time comes.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:19 AM ^
"Reporting" was that he and Adegoke were basically a coin-flip after the interviews. Glad he was still available and willing. May well be no-harm-no-foul in the end.
And yes, now go talk to Sabb and see if there's anything you can do!
February 16th, 2024 at 10:23 AM ^
Great now go get Sabb back
February 16th, 2024 at 10:27 AM ^
I hope he can get Sabb back, but that ship might've sailed the minute both Paige and Moore announced they were coming back.
And if that's the case, what're you gonna do? Sabb might've been banking one at least one of them leaving, but now that they aren't, he's not starting next year. He'll play a lot, but he won't start, and he'll have to wait until he's a senior to do so. He may be sitting there and saying he's going pro after the 2024 season no matter what, and if that's the case, it doesn't help his draft stock to be a reserves guy.
He may be the first one off the bench, but barring an injury he likely won't be a starter.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:44 AM ^
Yeah, I don't know if there is anything Morgan can do if Sabb wants to be an "almost every down" starter (which he certainly would be on 90% of the teams out there).
Here are the snaps in the Rose Bowl:
R Moore: 62
Q Johnson: 37
M Paige: 32
K Sabb: 5
Now, I assume if Sabb stays, he would get up to the Q level of snaps, but if he wants more than that, he's not getting it here. That's what happens when you have an All-American along with a high-performing 5th year senior-to-be returning.
February 16th, 2024 at 11:04 AM ^
I don't know if one game's worth of snap counts can necessarily indicate playing time for next year.
It certainly didn't indicate playing time for the very next game...
National Championship snap count:
R. Moore: 67
K. Sabb: 61
M. Paige: 27
Q. Johnson: 0
February 16th, 2024 at 12:26 PM ^
Huh? Paige was hurt in the National Championship Game.
That had nothing to do with Sabb.
February 16th, 2024 at 2:08 PM ^
OK, here are two more games (in which Q Johnson wasn't hurt & able to play, and Paige didn't have a bum ankle which limited his mobility)
UM vs OSU:
R. Moore: 58 (out of 58 possible)
M. Paige: 43
Q. Johnson: 15
K. Sabb: 0
(notice how Paige + Johnson = Moore)
UM vs Penn State:
R. Moore: 53 (out of 63 possible)
M. Paige: 45
Q. Johnson: 19
K. Sabb: 11
So if Moore and Paige are healthy, they suck up the large majority of snaps. It is understandable if Sabb doesn't want to limit himself to likely playing just 1/4 to 1/2 of the game.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:52 AM ^
that ship might've sailed the minute both Paige and Moore announced they were coming back.
If that was the case why did he wait so long to announce it? Kid is free to do as he chooses and I wish him the best, but the timing seems odd. Why not wait til after spring practice? Not like he can transfer immediately and take part in his new team's spring practices.
February 16th, 2024 at 11:16 AM ^
We have 3 starters between S and NB. There's a good chance that Sabb would have claimed one of those 3 spots.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:25 AM ^
If Minter likes him and recommends him, that's all I need to know.
Also good to have a guy with some play-calling experience. Not sure how Louisiana's defense was last year, but maybe he's the guy that Wink identifies as the DC in waiting.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:26 AM ^
Andddddd he's gone.
February 16th, 2024 at 8:28 PM ^
"Poof!"
February 16th, 2024 at 10:28 AM ^
Sherrone gets his guy
February 16th, 2024 at 10:28 AM ^
This just means he’ll have an NFL job by Monday.
Kidding aside, I like that there seemed to a plan and Sherrone moved on quickly. We need this one to stick. We also need to give Morgan Sabb’s number pronto.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:29 AM ^
Hopefully this one takes.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:36 AM ^
Get him on the phone with Sabb ASAP.
February 16th, 2024 at 10:42 AM ^
For $25.00 I will tell you what I think of our "insiders".
February 16th, 2024 at 12:16 PM ^
I'd rather keep my money and my intelligence. But thanks for the offer!
February 16th, 2024 at 10:44 AM ^
I'm good with this. I actually preferred this dude to Adegoke all things considered. Morgan was rec'd by Jesse and could be a great candidate for DC here in 2-3 years. Adegoke is of course a rising star as well, but he's rising so fast that it felt like he was gonna be a 1 year rental till an NFL team poached him back again. I suspect we'll be able to keep Morgan a while
February 16th, 2024 at 11:04 AM ^
I was thinking the same thing, this may give us more continuity over the next 5 years. I'm excited to see Hillman and Oden, Hillman was a heat seeking missile in HS!
February 16th, 2024 at 11:19 AM ^
How is he 1A if we went after another guy and somewhat landed him before this guy?
February 16th, 2024 at 11:50 AM ^
Because some people say, "1 and 1A" the way you apparently would say, "1A and 1B."
Mind blowing insight on a Friday.
February 16th, 2024 at 11:36 AM ^
His 1st order of business was to tell Keon Sabb that Michigan still isn't compensating their players. All extra money goes to old white men in suits.
February 16th, 2024 at 12:29 PM ^
What? Weird comment.
Michigan literally only has Wink Martindale as an old white man. And he definitely doesn’t wear a suit.
February 16th, 2024 at 8:31 PM ^
Trolls gonna troll. Just remember not to feed them.
February 16th, 2024 at 11:40 AM ^
Upgrade over the kid who flaked if you ask me.
February 16th, 2024 at 11:48 AM ^
We are BACK!
February 16th, 2024 at 11:56 AM ^
If he worked with Minter - and understands the secondary as well as how to coach it - "Come on down!"
Wishing him and the entire squad a productive Spring Practice season.
Go Blue!
February 16th, 2024 at 12:05 PM ^
Are we fully staffed now, aside from Hart's status? Who's coaching special teams?
February 16th, 2024 at 12:19 PM ^
The Special Teams Coordinator they promoted from within: JB Brown.
February 16th, 2024 at 12:28 PM ^
Assuming Hart will be okay and there is no more foolery? Yes. We are fully staffed as far as coaches go.
Time to beef up the support staff.
February 16th, 2024 at 1:15 PM ^
I haven't heard anything about Bellamy? Is he in or out?
February 16th, 2024 at 2:07 PM ^
It has been suggested that he'll remain. Same as Hart, his contract expired at the end of the season so he's likely negotiating a new one, but he's been on the recruiting trail.
February 16th, 2024 at 12:26 PM ^
Apparently plan B, not 1a. Maybe 1b. But oftentimes plan B shows to be the better option.
