Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor (#1 OT in '23 class) plans to enter Transfer Portal
January 17th, 2024 at 3:28 PM ^
He was allegedly wavering about it even before Saban left.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:26 PM ^
Meanwhile our coach is out job interviewing while other teams are running their programs! smh!!
January 17th, 2024 at 1:34 PM ^
Do you only play big crybaby on the internet or are you this way in real life, too?
January 17th, 2024 at 2:20 PM ^
its whiny after a natty ---- BUT... he's not wrong.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:39 PM ^
Let's rephrase that. Our coach is out job interviewing while other teams NIL programs are running their football programs.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
I expect a lot of coaches take their holidays now. Ours just prefers to get flown to his holidays courtesy of NFL owners and their PJs. Nothing wrong with that (apart from the tone of this entire message board in the last 8 days)...
January 17th, 2024 at 5:38 PM ^
most staffs schedule time off during summer dead period. theyll take a few days after bowl season but successful coaches rarely take down time when they have access to players/recruits.
harbaugh won a national title so he can do what he wants. no complaints here - he built a championship team and that run was amazing. he earned the right to test the market, again.
everyone should acknowledge though that the uncertainty absolutely impacts the program. where, how much, etc, we wont really know until the few subsequent versions take the field. teams not building now or taking advantage of momentum will need to make up for it later.
thats a sacrifice most gladly accept. i certainly do. they just had a parade!
not directed at your comment, more in general - simply saying theres no need to pretend that more harbaugh uncertainty doesnt matter or doesnt affect the program
January 17th, 2024 at 1:52 PM ^
We won a national Championship a week ago lol!! Clearly his interviewing for NFL jobs hasn't stopped us in the past
January 17th, 2024 at 1:54 PM ^
Maybe this is just his secret sauce/mojo. Everyone negbangs coach for interviewing but he is almost the only CF head coach who gets and takes the calls year in and year out. That might be what recruits, or rather selects/funnels in our best recruiting fits.
I actually believe coach is going to the NFL. But I can't tell any of you that. Gotta stay optimistic.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:47 PM ^
Look Mr. Recruit, our coach has been here for years. You don't see the NFL looking at him. Now, go to Michigan they're always talking to that guy. Trust me, you don't want to go there. Hell, their DC was from the NFL, they're infested!
January 17th, 2024 at 3:03 PM ^
Wait a minute, I was under the impression no coach was above the team?
The team, the team, the team?
January 17th, 2024 at 1:26 PM ^
Doubt we can afford him, but his ability to tackle Milroe may come in handy for an SEC school
January 17th, 2024 at 1:28 PM ^
Wrong tackler…it was Latham, I believe
January 17th, 2024 at 1:58 PM ^
Yep, the projected to 10 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Got abused by our D line.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:17 PM ^
But - it’s the SEC - these guys must be all world. There’s no way Michigan can compete with them. Oh - Michigan did defeat Bama - their best this year.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:37 PM ^
To be fair, I've seen one of Washington's guards being mocked in the mid first, and those guys got destroyed too.
January 17th, 2024 at 8:06 PM ^
Josiah Stewart (who's coming back) literally bench pressed Latham into Milroe.
That was impressive.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:27 PM ^
College football, man. It sure is different than what it was just a few years ago.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:55 PM ^
Correct. In this version we are national champions.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:55 PM ^
Years? Try a few days ago.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:29 PM ^
Won't be able to afford him.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:58 PM ^
No sane player is thinking in gonna give up $1m per year in writing and have to work for $800,000 while attending classes and earning a starting roke in a meritocracy.
Wait, what happened with Michigan in 2023 again? It's becoming difficult to keep that little bit of bpone alive in me.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:29 PM ^
Let me guess, Miami or Ole Miss?
January 17th, 2024 at 1:45 PM ^
Don't sleep on Florida State and Georgia like that.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:58 PM ^
Dare I say OSU? F me if it happens. Neg me like mad, board.
January 18th, 2024 at 12:10 PM ^
Yeah, don't count out Florida State. They're stocking up on ex Bama players. It's like they figured if they got left out of the CFP and Bama took their spot, maybe if their team is comprised of Bama players they'll get to take advantage of that next season.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:30 PM ^
So that's 2/5ths of Alabama's starting offensive line transferring now? Do I have that right?
January 17th, 2024 at 1:32 PM ^
Ohio State got their All American bowler I mean center
January 17th, 2024 at 1:59 PM ^
Hahaha he's a lawn bowler. That's amazing, Harrison.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:31 PM ^
Iowa native and looks to be going back home. Better there than the Columbus, Texas, Oregon NIL power players that Michigan has to face next year.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:32 PM ^
I'd guess Ole Miss or Georgia.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:36 PM ^
Crystal balls are to... IOWA. Going home, it appears.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:40 PM ^
I dont mean to be pessimistic but whenever I see posts of 5 star, highly ranked players hitting the portal I have the same general sense of anticipation that I do when my twitter feed lets me know that a 1970, 4 speed, Hemi Superbird with a concourse frame-off restoration will be rolling over an auction block this weekend.
Would absolutely love to have it. Know that there's not a chance in Hell I'll be able to afford it.
January 17th, 2024 at 8:11 PM ^
No pessimism, just reality.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:42 PM ^
Would assume Iowa would be the favorite
January 17th, 2024 at 8:13 PM ^
4 balls to Iowa, including that elusive Wiltfong ball.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:47 PM ^
Related, I think one of the Bama starting safeties also entered the portal today.
DeBoer's going to have to re-recruit half his roster.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:00 PM ^
He might be bringing in half of it from Washington? Also, can he recruit?
January 17th, 2024 at 2:03 PM ^
That's just college football. Alabama has five stars waiting in the wings behind all those guys, his job won't be that tough. Look at our team this year. Virtually our entire offence will be new next year. New QB, RB#1, RB#4, WR#1, WR#2, WR#4, TE#2, TE#3, OT#1, OT#2, OG#1, OG#2, C and our 6th O-lineman.....It's a good thing our D looks to be good next year (though we will be replacing DT#1, DT #4, ILB#1, ILB#2, OLB #1, OLB#2, NB, CB#2, CB#4, CB#6) Whoever our coach is next year will have a lot of holes to fill. Man, I hadn't realised the turnover that was going to take place until I listed those. Thanksfully on D at least, the new guys will be players who have played significant snaps.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:06 PM ^
DeBoer's going to have to re-recruit half his roster.
This is not a thing that should be understated. And I don't think that they AT ALL expected that it would be necessary.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:50 PM ^
Come To Michigan. This year: 6th OL/TE. Next year: All American, go to draft
January 17th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
If he comes to Michigan, he's starting. Gentry and Persi can battle Priebe at RG with the runner-up taking that 6th OL spot that should be named after Trente Jones.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
YES PLEASE!
Bring Proctor in, move Hinton to RT...and let's roll!
January 17th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
Another portal guy we have zero chance of getting. We are rarely going to be able to transfer in guys that aren't graduates. And from Alabama I have zero hope.
January 17th, 2024 at 1:57 PM ^
- Jaishawn Barham
- Myles Hinton
- Ernest Hausmann
- Josaiah Stewart
And that's just in the last year.
No offense, but I'm pretty sure you have no clue what you're talking about.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:01 PM ^
Shhhh, he must have missed the 2023 season, let him be.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:01 PM ^
And for the record...Nebraska and Alabama are rated as very similar schools and Coastal Carolina doesn't come close to either of those flagship state schools.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:10 PM ^
Don't be delusional. There is no way this guy isn't going to an NIL school. The guys you listed weren't #1 recruits at their position who transferred in from huge NIL schools. There's no commonality whatsoever.
January 17th, 2024 at 2:33 PM ^
There is no way this guy isn't going to an NIL school.
I guess Iowa upped their game...
January 18th, 2024 at 12:46 AM ^
Is Iowa an NIL school?
