UF and Tenn got busted because they cheated (just like Goergia and Bama) but they sucked so they get nuked. FSU ran its mouth much like Harbaugh. There are 3 untouchables and they couldnt fuck it up if they wanted to concerning the NCAA.

Bama, Georgia, and OSU.

Now please write this down because I believe this with every fiber of my being. If Bama struggles in back to back seasons the NCAA will come swoop in on that coach. He will be looked a just like at shitty Florida and a shitty Tennessee was. Very curious only bad teams cheat in the SEC. Very curious indeed.

While the homer in me agrees, OSU was literally a field goal miss away from a possible national championship last year. So they aren't far off as a program.

Had they won last year and (even if we then won this year), they probably wouldn't be working so hard on nil and the transfer portal now.

They are very sore. Day trying to save his butt. And now that he knows everything about Harbaugh via his former roommate's connection to the PI firm, which may include lots of stuff we havent heard about since it was all legit, Day is copying some ideas, trying to capitalize better on others (recruiting) and otherwise getting his ego all jacked up for revenge.

Sky isn't falling for Michigan, but it would be nice to see some transfer wins, even if solid backups.

Day is copying some ideas

I loved it when Day noticed that Harbaugh was getting his players all pumped before games. Hitting the QB's shoulder pads, bonding with players, etc. So Day decided to copy that idea. He made a little mosh pit and jumped around with a whistle and made himself look life a buffoon.

Or how he noticed we kept kicking ass with our running game, so he decided to try and be a running team this year. Except that didn't work so well because every time he failed to get decent yardage on a 1st down run he never had the courage to run on 2nd down.

Day can keep trying to copy ideas. They might have been a field goal away from the championship game last year, but with the expanded B1G and expanded playoff, their years of easy paths are past. That's not to say they're out of contention—but I would say that even with the stellar recruiting their odds of winning it all have decreased with the recent changes.

they’ll get it figured out

Did they get a new OL coach?

I really don't think that they can just depend on handing it off to Judkins and Henderson. First of all, you guys have recruited OL that are specifically built for the passing game. Second, the OL coaching appears highly suspect. Third, the playbook and play calling do not seem conducive to a run-first team. Bill O'Brien is a QB guy, Day is a QB guy, and Hartline is a WR guy.

The way Michigan has succeed in the run game was by prioritizing it for years. We recruited for it, our coaches specialize in it, our passing game works as constraint plays, and we dedicate a ton of time installing all sorts of run plays teams don't see much anymore.

Having said that, I'm sure you'll be above .500. I would be surprised if you run the table and even more surprised if you win more than two playoff games. I think, like with the last several years, your success is wholly dependent on the passing game.

Ohio State actually just fired their Safeties coach Perry Eliano primarily due to his reputation as a poor recruiter. He's been an above-average on-field coach, but he has gone 2 full recruiting cycles without bringing in any of his top recruiting targets.

This past class was particularly rough because Ohio State looked to be on the inside track with KJ Bolden (5*, #1 S, #14 OVR) - KJ is Eliano's cousin's son, and the Bolden family even made several comments about being very eager/comfortable with KJ being coached by "family." But in the end Eliano fumbled the recruitment, and Bolden ended up at UGA.

Right now, there's only 1 underclassman (S Malik Hartford) that seems poised/ready to start if called upon. So the room under Eliano was trending to become really thin, really fast... Hence his firing.

I wonder what the top level meetings were like after their season ended.  They must have literally just agreed to spend as much money as they possibly can to get every player possible.  It’s mercenary U.

If we beat them next year it will be absolutely hilarious

A big get for them given I thought safety was one of the weakness on their defense.

They are definitely in spend whatever it takes mode in terms of NIL.  Three straight losses to Michigan will do that.

It’s hard to know how much NIL is a factor in terms of Downs coming or so many of their guys coming back.  Or how much money guys are getting paid in terms of dollar amounts.  But it’s pretty clearly a big factor.

They’ll definitely be a tough out this year though.  I’m just not at all sold on Will Howard or that offensive line (let alone Bill O’Brien as the new OC).

Given all the stops they are pulling out for next season it’d be incredible to see their response if we are able to beat them again.

Next year will be the ultimate test to see the extent that culture can overpower talent. OSU is adding a lot of talent, but they had plenty of talent before. To me, their issue is still gameday coaching, a lack of player development, and pillowy soft lines.

Michigan didn't add 5 star after 5 star player to their team to fill huge gaps, they picked their spots with veteran players who could contribute in more ways than just on-field production. A team of mercenaries like OSU is arguably MORE susceptible to fold when punched in the mouth than previous teams. What allegiance does Judkins or Howard have? What never-ending desire to beat Michigan does Caleb Downs have? It remains to be seen. They will be talented like always, and we will take a step back from the apex, but the real work OSU has to do to fix their program is yet to be done

1.IMO, There's a chip on your shoulder or not. It's not like after the past two years they didn't already have a chip going into this year's game.

2.Merely bringing in talent does not equal a great job in the portal. Michigan's elite portal management has been about bringing in players who are all great teammates, leaders, and talented.

This just makes it that much sweeter when we beat them. They are going All In on this season. If Day doesn’t get it done, he never will.
