OT: Does anyone else not care about the super bowl?
I love football, I watch High Schhool, College, and Professional football religiously.
But the super bowl seems too over the top. I don't want to discuss the game with my coworker Tracy who believes that a tight end is why you to to the gym.
Sorry for the rant. There has to be more people out there?

Super Bowl, when are they playing that???
February 11th, 2024 at 6:09 PM ^
This is the lowest my interest has been in a long time.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:09 PM ^
I do because I am looking forward to watching Jake Moody kick the game winning FG from 50 yards out.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:10 PM ^
I can respect that.
They'll probably miss it by showing Taylor Swift dancing
February 11th, 2024 at 7:59 PM ^
If SF shuts out KC, you’ll get your wish.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:12 PM ^
Not this year. Taylor is my spirit animal.
February 11th, 2024 at 7:37 PM ^
It wouldn't shock me to find out that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce relationship is just an act to increase viewership.
February 11th, 2024 at 9:35 PM ^
It is.
February 12th, 2024 at 4:42 AM ^
Brought to you by the people at "Casinos cheat" and "The *insert professional sport here* playoffs are rigged"
The only way you fuck up a casino's or NFL's money is by doing some dumb shit. 115 million viewers last year will do just fine.
February 12th, 2024 at 8:44 AM ^
Increase viewership for the most popular sport in America? Ok.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:12 PM ^
My daughter likes Taylor Swift. I'm watching for commercials and to hang out with my family. Don't really care who wins. Maybe I'm rooting against Bosa and Chase Young.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:41 PM ^
And against the three Wolverines on SF?
February 11th, 2024 at 8:56 PM ^
I really hate Bosa, but im happy for Moody. His kick was nice.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:12 PM ^
Chlorine bleach is the key to cleaning both super and regular style bowls. And using a brush provides for a very swift process. 👀😉
Edit/add: for my family, our Super Bowl was Team 144 v. Bama.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:14 PM ^
Couldn’t care less. The stars on both sides have zero charisma, and there are no compelling story lines. Just boring all the way around.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:15 PM ^
I don't really care who wins this year. I think Lions fans in general are still struggling to process how we should be here right now.
February 11th, 2024 at 9:29 PM ^
This is exactly where i am. Ive actually been vaguely annoyed by the idea of it for the first time in my life.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:15 PM ^
Tell me more about Tracy.
1. Is this a woman? If so...
2. Does she like bad boy types?
February 11th, 2024 at 6:35 PM ^
She's 6'2" 230lbs runs a 4.6 40
Definitely out of my league
February 12th, 2024 at 1:50 PM ^
Wait - we could use another linebacker....
February 11th, 2024 at 6:15 PM ^
Whoa Nellie!!
February 11th, 2024 at 6:20 PM ^
Less about actual football and more a cultural event. That said, Lion's up 24-7 and fumbling chance at first SB still has me very salty and likely won't watch because it will be too painful. Taylor Swift doesn't help either.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:22 PM ^
Divisional Semifinal weekend and Conference Championship Sunday are the best days for the NFL fan.
You have only the best teams and you have multiple games, all played in front of passionate home-field crowds, all played with a minimum of surrounding bull-shit. And if one of the games sucks, you have other games: they generally don't ALL suck.
Super Bowl Sunday is fine. But it lacks much of the above --- it's a good day, but it IS a lessor day versus the others, IMO.

I think this is true for most sports. For instance, the Final Four is better than the national championship game (partly because they’re played on a Saturday rather than a Monday night and also because there are 2 games) and college football - the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl back-to-back on Jan 1 is better than a Monday night national championship (played at an NFL Stadium - and I know the Sugar Bowl is at an NFL stadium, too). I’m looking forward to New Year’s Day having 3 quarterfinal games this upcoming year.

February 11th, 2024 at 6:25 PM ^
don't really care.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:30 PM ^
Chiefs & Lions fan. Was hoping for a rematch, so I get it.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:32 PM ^
I don’t care at all. Crowds are more sterile compared to great college atmosphere. I’m worried that after the last year of real college football, my interest in that will start dwindling to the level of caring I have for the NFL.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:35 PM ^
Does anyone even remember when this was a football game?
February 11th, 2024 at 6:36 PM ^
I haven't watched a Super Bowl in years. I used to watch the NFL a lot then it stopped interesting me but I'd still watch the Super Bowl. But I don't think I've watched it in a good 8-9 years. Just no interest in the NFL in any capacity anymore - then again I always rooted for players over a particular team.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:37 PM ^
I also don’t care but I’ll watch a little
February 11th, 2024 at 6:38 PM ^
Yeah, will watch it for the potential amusement value, but don’t really care. Especially do not care about the commercials and the halftime show.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:39 PM ^
I lost interest in SB because it has been to much commercialized. Nothing to do with Lions losing. I probably would have watched if Lions were there. I remember days after SB people talked about commercials and not the actual FB game. That did me in. I used to watch when TB was in SB. That is about it. AFC and NFC championships are way more fun than SB as a Football fan.
February 11th, 2024 at 7:32 PM ^
Can't remember the exact assignment but in high school for a certain business class we had to watch (pretty much) every commercial to develop a "report". This was 15+ years ago, but...Ugh.
February 11th, 2024 at 9:17 PM ^
Ouch. That's nightmare fuel.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:40 PM ^
I find it more difficult to get into the spirit of the season, and I largely blame the network talking heads. Engaging with SuperBowl week (and sports in general) used to be a lot more fun and habitual. The powers that be aren’t as good as they used to be at creating hype for the games.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:45 PM ^
What is there to think … Meechigan are the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! .. nothing else matters…
February 11th, 2024 at 6:47 PM ^
Not watching.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:48 PM ^
I typically watch, but don’t finish the Super Bowl. It’s infinitely better than the World Series.
February 11th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
Yeah don’t care but still watching so care enough to watch?
February 11th, 2024 at 6:56 PM ^
Hallmark channel is playing the first 3 episodes of season two of the show The Way Home starting at seven
February 11th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
Shit I'm in
February 11th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
I was at the NFC championship game and prefer those two than the super bowl which feels too commercialized to me. The NFC title game was sublime and felt like it was more about football. And yes I've been to a super bowl before so I have reference.
February 11th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
I haven't watched 1 second of SB in over a decade. I didn't even know it was on.
February 11th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
Seems like you care about not caring, which is almost the same as caring.
February 11th, 2024 at 7:33 PM ^
They "could care less".
