I know some were hoping UM would look at him, good save for Fisch.

Jedd with more good 💩

Gunnar Gundy is back in the portal. He had transfered from OSU Cowboys to Ohio University, but now is back in the portal. Not that matters much 🤷
January 24th, 2024 at 12:02 AM ^
gunnar? i hardly know her
semi-finalists:
- "he's still playing? he's a man! he's 40!"
- just kidding there was only one and it wasn't any good either
January 24th, 2024 at 1:03 AM ^
I never met a man I didn’t like.
January 24th, 2024 at 5:37 AM ^
Gunnar Gundy is great name for a QB in an Air Raid offense but -
JJ McCarthy > Cade McNamara > Davis Warren > Alan Bowman > Gunnar Gundy
January 24th, 2024 at 5:59 AM ^
I like to believe it’s pronounced as it’s spelled, just as Forest Gump would pronounce it “Gun-Narr”
January 24th, 2024 at 11:14 AM ^
I assume he's Mike Gundy's son??? He was going to transfer away from his dad's team? Geesh.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:04 PM ^
Having seen Will Rogers play a couple of times... is it really a good save? I guess in so far as having a scholarship QB or 2 on the roster is a good thing.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:06 PM ^
He is the all time leader in the SEC in passing yards and has 39 career starts with 94 TDs. Product of Mike Leach and whatnot, but not a scrub.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:39 PM ^
From what I understand he's good in an air raid but his arm isn't really suited for anything else (based on discussion on the Cover 3 podcast). He didn't look very good in whatever it was Miss St was trying to do after Leach.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:46 PM ^
His stats are deceiving. He's had twice as many attempts as JJ.
January 24th, 2024 at 1:54 AM ^
"He's had twice as many attempts as JJ."
Who hasn't?
January 24th, 2024 at 6:15 AM ^
Katin Houser and Noah Kim combined barely have more attempts.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:53 PM ^
I think MSU (NTMSU) had a more run heavy offense last year (which went about as well as you’d expect with their Leach recruited line) and Rogers was also injured for part of the year. In any case, at the very least he provides experience.
January 24th, 2024 at 3:17 AM ^
So he us excellent in air raid, but the new coach who is already fired switched to a pro spread offense based on reads and PA pass and he was pretty terrible.
Will Howard is actually a better fit at Michigan while Will Rogers would do better at OSU than what Howard does, IMO.
January 24th, 2024 at 8:29 AM ^
So you're saying sign and trade?
January 24th, 2024 at 5:12 AM ^
Probably on account of the 1,800 pass attempts he had over the course of his four years… two of which weren’t even full seasons.
He’s an air raid QB that would struggle in any pro style offense. There’s a reason his options are limited
January 24th, 2024 at 6:57 AM ^
He is the all time leader in the SEC in passing yards
That says more about passing in the SEC than it does about Will Rogers.
January 24th, 2024 at 3:41 PM ^
The guy averaged 44 pass attempts per game in his career. 49.7 per game in his two full seasons. If his passing yardage says anything about him, it’s that he had a lot of opportunity to amass those totals
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:22 PM ^
Who exactly would be calling anyone at this point?? We're a captainless ship at the moment
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:52 PM ^
Poooor us. We are so screwed...
Shut the fuck up - pathetic attitude. We just won a National Championship.
Life is good. Enjoy it, dumbass...
January 24th, 2024 at 12:00 AM ^
please repost this to the guy below here too
...and probably elsewhere gee whiz what a fan base
January 24th, 2024 at 1:01 AM ^
For that's all there is to success is satisfaction.
January 24th, 2024 at 10:05 AM ^
Yeah! Fucky fuck fuck fuck!
January 24th, 2024 at 10:11 AM ^
Its in this offseason I'm realizing how truly committed some Michigan fans are to being miserable about everything
We won the national title. Columbus is in shambles and is going full desperation mode next year or they might all immolate. MSU is in such a sorry state that they're not even yapping. Everyone who ever whined about Connor Stallions has to shut up forever or whine anonymously on the internet. And people are still in misery because OSU has moved from a top 5 in the talent composite to... *checks notes*....still a top 5 in the talent composite
January 24th, 2024 at 10:32 AM ^
Try to focus on the topic posted and the response and less on your feelings.
It was posted that some hoped Will Howard would hopefully come to Michigan. I don't have a horse in this race, since I don't have a strong position on him as a player.
But, the issue raised was... if you were hoping he'd come here, who would reach out? Is it a foregone conclusion that if Jimmy leaves, Sherrone is the new coach? Is he able to tell anyone that if so? What if Jimmy comes back? If Jim takes Minter, do positions change? Is clink a lock as DC?
Perhaps some are miserable that we are not continuing to up the ante and stay out ahead and right now are in a bit of a holding pattern... Now a couple decades ago (or 3), Mike Mussina left Baltimore and joined the yankees, in part, because he said that the day after the Yankees won the WS, Torre was on the phone to him to recruit him over to the Yankees. Do we want that level of relentlessness? I would think so, as fans, even if that's not a fair stance.
Now back to the question... its not MISERABLE to say that given that other than a long snapper, on the recruiting front, things are on hold because nobody is clear yet where the team is going (from a leadership perspective). Recruits (see Gaitlin Bair) have specifically said that. out loud. to other humans.
So, you can get emotional if you like but the point holds... if Michigan was interested in Howard, how would that interaction go?
January 24th, 2024 at 12:38 PM ^
Dude it's January 24th. Coaching transitions happen. You don't need to make yourself miserable because of a few transfer portal misses that Michigan may not have even been interested in
January 24th, 2024 at 2:24 PM ^
It's a shame only the head coach can recruit. What, assistant coaches do much of the recruiting??? I guess the Offensive Coordinator and QB coach could have reached out to Howard if we wanted him. Especially since they're two guys a QB would probably want to talk to if considering a transfer.
January 23rd, 2024 at 11:55 PM ^
How pathetic we can't even get a decent QB transfer after the NC.
Honestly, thank you Jim for the NC but fucking make a decision!
January 24th, 2024 at 12:23 AM ^
How is he supposed to “make a decision”? It’s likely he hasn’t even been offered a fucking job dumbass. And Yes, he could decide to just quit the Michigan job I guess. But who does that without a new job in hand?
The process (or at least the timeline) isn’t something Harbaugh can control.
January 24th, 2024 at 2:22 AM ^
Exactly. People here make it sound like Jim wants all these NFL interview processes to roll on forever.
I am sure Jim hates teams like the Charges and Falcons dragging out process with large numbers of candidates pulled into second (and third?) rounds as much as anybody here that has applied for new job and had interview process drag on for a month or more.
January 24th, 2024 at 3:29 AM ^
Yeah, he hates it!
Just not enough to tell em to stick it & stay at Michigan?!
January 24th, 2024 at 6:08 AM ^
Jim could easily say he is coming back to Michigan where he has something great going for him. Not to mention the promise he gave Warde a couple years ago.
January 24th, 2024 at 8:32 AM ^
For the record, I believe his promise was "I won't look for an NFL job". This does not stop him from interviewing or even taking a job, just not initiating the process.
January 24th, 2024 at 12:40 PM ^
I am quite certain Jim never 'promised' he would stay. People are reading way too much into Jim saying he'll stay at Michigan as long as they'll have me. That's just press conference speak and if you take that as Jim making a solemn promise then I don't know what to tell you
Jim clearly is interested in the NFL. It's just gonna have to be a few murky weeks before we find out the result
January 24th, 2024 at 10:17 AM ^
People quite without a job in hand all the time and they often don't do it with the financial stability Jim Harbaugh has in his life.
What you seem to be missing is that by leaving Michigan in limbo, he is actively harming the program for the coming year whether he leaves or not. Yes, Michigan got away with it the last two years, mainly because the roster was so good and a lot of guys came back. That's not the case next year. Michigan added two guys from the portal in a year with a lot more holes after a year where they added what, 8 or 9?
And then if he leaves, now he's created a scenario where its open season on Michigan's roster for a month correct?
Is he doing right by Rod Moore with this constant NFL flirtation? Donovan Edwards?
January 24th, 2024 at 2:51 PM ^
We’ll get a solid transfer no matter what happens with the coach. There’s a whole new portal period coming up. The transfer is likely someone who has yet to enter the portal. A clear shot at being QB1 at Michigal will entice a LOT of candidates.
January 24th, 2024 at 12:45 AM ^
Rogers would be a pretty poor fit in our offensive scheme. His last coach forced regression on him (and accordingly lost his job) bc he tried to force them into a pro-style scheme.
January 24th, 2024 at 1:57 AM ^
But could you imagine how terrible an air raid would be as a changeup from 9 blocky / runny personnel? Or with our speedsters trick plays.
I think it'd be a terrible divergence from what we have built and works, but good God everyone would be paying top dollar for our signs.
January 24th, 2024 at 3:46 AM ^
Meh. We’d be better off adapting more Shanahan principles into our passing scheme, or even Moorhead principles with the emphasis on varying formations with the same personnel group. Our substitutions tend to betray our intentions more than most squads’. We could get a lot of mileage from locking a defense on the field with Edwards, Mullings, Loveland, and Bredeson - that group (w/ say, Semaj Morgan) could give you 11, 12, 21, or 22.
January 24th, 2024 at 8:14 AM ^
This is the obvious next evolution of the Harbaughffense. Which, honestly, can only happen if Harbaugh is not running it. Jim's offense is great, but it's also conservative in the passing game. Opening up the pass game to different looks, like the running game is allowed, would be scary.

No man is great if he thinks he is.

hopefully this OP puts an end to the Will Rogers follies
January 24th, 2024 at 2:00 AM ^
By my assessment, all Will R. follies were 100% on Clarence B.

Last week we said, 'Things can't go on like this', and they didn't, they got worse.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:11 AM ^
So sad to be reigning national champions, indeed.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
It's actually a Will Rogers (YTWR) quote.

if {college football player enters transfer portal = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}
if {college football player chooses another school = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}
if {five star prospect chooses another school = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}
if {four star prospect chooses another school = TRUE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh}
if {all of the above = FALSE} then {commence whining about Harbaugh anyway}
